I have a UG (project mgt tech) cgpa of 4.01(ECE conv. =3.23), scored 88 and 298 on iBT TOEFL and GRE respectively. I'm not too pleased wt my GRE and TOEFL score and hope to write them again, in preparation for fall 2017. I wish to apply for Business Intelligence/Analytics in US and hope to get an assistantship. What would u suggest? Should I write the standardized test again? How about getting assistantship? Do u have any professional advice as regards my intended graduate course? Meanwhile, I hope to start my masters in Nigeria very soon and I've also been offered an assistantship position here in Nigeria from the university (A fed uni of tech) I graduated from. Will my assistantship position in Nigeria aid my graduate application in US? I'm very open to ur opinions.. In addition I'm proficient in some very related softwares including oracle database and PM softwares.

Did anybody here actually resign his or her job and then proceeded to apply to study/work in the states without having a sponsor. Been procrastinating on this ish for a long time. The thoughts of actually preparing for GRE just makes me weak. Can somebody just motivate me at least lol. I tend to get discouraged along the way and just give up mentally. Bro I can't suggest a school for u. Just go to google then type list of universities in the us that offer project management or check for a nice state then type list of schools in that state that offer ur course. Den write dem down on a paper den state checkin deir requirements one by one. Minnesota state university is not private,there are many public schools there in minnesota that offer instate tuition and assitantship too. That site I send to u gives u a list of schools dat offer assistantship,once u click on any of them den scroll down u will see percentage of assistantships offered.

duate/research assistantship is only available for engineering students... pls clarify... As a social science is it difficult get a graduate assistantship?

Nevertheless, Its not going be an issue at the POE if u didn't take the subsequent, except if your medical expire. But since is not going to be up to 10k, I will suggest u go for it as we don't know exactly wat they might developed at the point of entry.

marymary14: Yes you'd have to pay an Additional money for the boosting and also for oral polio which was added a few weeks ago to the list if vaccines. If you've done the hep.B then you will pay 5000 for mmr + oral polio if not you should budget 15,000 at most for it.congrats girl. TOEFL and IELTS are English Language exams which I will not recommend for any Nigerian to take it since Nigeria is an Anglophone country. Schools that require them usually waive it for Nigerians. However, some schools are rigid and wouldn't waive it. In that case, I will not advice applying to such schools because that will increase your total cost of application. The most important exam that you need to do is the GRE.

Pls, i want to make an enquiry on behalf of a friend who is dv winner and got her visa issued. She is in a relationship wt a man and hopes to get married before leaving Nigeria but someone said getting married at this time will raise a red flag. The person said its advisable to travel first then after her green card she then come back for the wedding.
1. Pls which one is technically advisable (from vast experience) cos she intends to file for her husband immediately. is it to get married before travelling or come back later for the marriage?
2. What if the husband gets a study scholarship, hope the pending immigrant case wont affect the chances of getting a visa with respect to the scholarship?
3. Is it still possible to have her green card in her husband's surname, as marriage will affect her surname, although she is yet to pay her green card fee (immigrant fee) due to this marriage issue?
4. Can she still file for her husband while her green card still bears her maiden name?

arhayjay: We went through Emirates! The flight was smooth, meals,drinks,water n snacks were served at intervals but the flight was a total of 25hrs! 7hr to Dubai and 16hrs to houston.
