Since 2014, I finally made it to 40 days without gambling.
I want to advice every young man out there, PLEASE DO NOT START GAMBLING, dont let stories of people winning big tempt you. I know on this thread many people will come and tell you how they use one strategy or another to constantly win. I hope you do not learn the hard way.

I have lost over 10 million since 2014. I know a lawyer in Owerri, he is even very popular, has police escorts and all, he is a family friend. he has lost hundreds of millions to betting. This man is now a shadow of himself. i the month this man won about 54 million (with about 6 different tickets) he bought drinks for all of us and we celebrated at R&A hotel at Allen, but today this man don wreck o. i dont want to give details so it wont be like i am mocking him. Bet9ja has collected more than 10 times that N54million from this man. This is a man that sponsors politicians in Imo state, he is now almost a disgrace.

I have learned my own lesson too. Never again.

40 days is very special to me because, I used to bet EVERYDAY. it was like cocaine to me. The more i did not bet a day the more i was determined not to break my abstinence.

P.S. it is not God or prayers that helped me stop. I am an Atheist and my sister that i confided in that is helping me focus is also an atheist.
Prayers may work for you if you fear and respect god enough, but for me I have reached a point anything betting irritates me.

Congratulations!

Continue to celebrate your wins.

Bro is this still possible. I'm in Nigeria. Didn't complete my LLB. Did another program and didn't complete that also. Thing is I've been running a business since age 17 that's been distracting me. I'm in a good place financially so looking to study in Nairobi but scared of going through a foundation program. I'm 23 not in my 30s.

Please can you help me ask questions and look for a school in Nairobi that'll accept just WAEC in 2022. I'll really compensate you for the stress if I get itted.

Thank you.

You don't need a foundation program, straight up to first year. Which course do you want to apply for?

What about boys?....
what about the boys that are trafficked?
What about the boys endangered by terrorism?

It's all about girls, women, grandmothers etc... yet we scream about gender equality like the disadvantaged are the oppressors.

Who has stopped you or Nigerian male activists, celebrities from running campaigns against boys that are being trafficked?

Do you still facilitate receiving Kenyan shillings in Kenya on behalf of someone in Nigeria?

Yes and other countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia, even for transfers as low as N5,000 equivalent.

I will be getting married in 3 weeks time but I'm not happy
I'm getting married to a man who has beaten me two different times. I'm getting married to a man who is heartless and doesn't know how to love and treat a woman right. I'm getting married to a man who does not have a mind of his own.

I'm getting married but I'm already thinking of divorce.

I'm overwhelmed! I'm physically strong but I'm weak.
Just don't want to wake up from my sleep so I won't have to continue with this marriage plans as I can't stand the shame of calling off the marriage at this time.

But I guess you can stand the shame of ending up in a body bag before your time, as you will not be alive for a long time in that marriage and that is a certainty because a man who is still interested in marrying a woman who he beats, is sick in the head while the woman who he beats and still goes ahead to marry him is sicker in the head. angry

Well,I too dropped out at some point because of business.
Thought I could do the two at once but one will always supercede the other.
The only difference was I fought the battle seriously and was able to win over the business and make a living out of it,but I still miss that degree.
I want to go back but same trade isn't giving me time to do so.
So much opportunity waiting in line if only I can get that degree.
I've made up my mind that I might not get that paper in my lifetime and I've made peace with it.

You can make out time for that degree if you truely desire it.

My hub is in Nairobi, when I am less busy I usually drop by the areas Nigerians who trade in Electronics, Vehicle spare parts etc do have their shops. Majority of them only have their secondary certificate before going to business and I used to encourage them to go back to school, by enrolling. into Kenyan universities as it does not require JAMB and they it thrice a year (January, May and September).

All they needed to do was get their O'Level result and have it equalized to Kenyan qualification at a cost of $100 and once the equalization certificate states one is qualified to a degree program in Kenya, there will be many schools to choose from.

Even before Covid, majority of Kenyan universities had satellite campuses within Nairobi CBD which is about 10-15mins walk from were they have their shops and they offered daily evening lectures from 5.30p.m to 8.30p.m for their mature students who are workers and traders.

I encouraged many to take up the opportunity, sadly most of them said they prefer hanging out in the evenings after the day's business. Only 2 who were in their 30s, took up the opportunity, I facilitated their ission and they enrolled into 3 years degree programs.

One graduated October last year (2020) with a bachelor degree in Business and Information Technology at age 38 and headed back to Nigeria earlier this year in February to apply for his UK student visa as he got itted to University of Sunderland to do his Msc in International Business Management. He got his visa in March and left immediately for the UK because lectures started in March.

He applied for his wife and 3 kids to him, they got their visas and he went back to Nigeria in August to fly back to the UK with them.

The news spread like wild fire here in Nairobi, that triggered many to start looking for their WAEC certificates, sending relatives to go to the secondary schools they attended in Nigeria to get them.

It is never too late.

Kenyan politicians are addicted to attending burials and being in Churches on Sundays because they get access to free crowd they can campaign to and abuse fellow politicians. cheesy

I wish I can post my chat on whatapp with him as at last two weeks when I told him about their school fees he told me they can stay at home for now...am managing as a teacher, if they eventually stay at home for now who will look after them?

I understand but this is beyond Whatsapp chat. On a weekend get some of the things of the children and take the children to wherever their father is and leave them with him, it will dawn on him that nurturing kids is not an easy task.

Back in the early 2000s we had this neighbour and his family then in Lagos. He got a job at a quarry in Ewekoro, Ogun State and the arrangement was him coming home during the weekends, after about 2 months or thereabout he stopped visiting his wife and kids who were still in primary school then and even stopped providing for them. Rent expired, he was least bothered and the second hand clothes the woman was selling was barely enough to sustain them.

Their things were thrown out and they had to squat with neighbours. On a Sunday the woman dressed up the kids and headed to Ewekoro with them, got to where her husband lived and met him at home, dropped their children with him and left for God knows where. By mid-week he came back to our neighbourhood with their kids looking for his wife and willing to talk things over.

Don't carry the load alone, they are also his children.

"So, Nigeria is just hawking, not trading in the global cargo market. There are 500,000 to 620,000 tonnes out of Kenya every night. Here, we cannot boast of 20,000 tonnes a week"...Very true! angry

Carrots, baby maize, chilli, peas, fruits, flowers etc that would be on the shelves of some European supermarkets tomorrow, is presently being packed in Nairobi and some other locations right now and will be heading to the airport in the coming hours for departure to some countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
