Warrior14: But I guess you can stand the shame of ending up in a body bag before your time, as you will not be alive for a long time in that marriage and that is a certainty because a man who is still interested in marrying a woman who he beats, is sick in the head while the woman who he beats and still goes ahead to marry him is sicker in the head. ![]() 22 Likes 3 Shares |

SeaTrade: You can make out time for that degree if you truely desire it. My hub is in Nairobi, when I am less busy I usually drop by the areas Nigerians who trade in Electronics, Vehicle spare parts etc do have their shops. Majority of them only have their secondary certificate before going to business and I used to encourage them to go back to school, by enrolling. into Kenyan universities as it does not require JAMB and they it thrice a year (January, May and September). All they needed to do was get their O'Level result and have it equalized to Kenyan qualification at a cost of $100 and once the equalization certificate states one is qualified to a degree program in Kenya, there will be many schools to choose from. Even before Covid, majority of Kenyan universities had satellite campuses within Nairobi CBD which is about 10-15mins walk from were they have their shops and they offered daily evening lectures from 5.30p.m to 8.30p.m for their mature students who are workers and traders. I encouraged many to take up the opportunity, sadly most of them said they prefer hanging out in the evenings after the day's business. Only 2 who were in their 30s, took up the opportunity, I facilitated their ission and they enrolled into 3 years degree programs. One graduated October last year (2020) with a bachelor degree in Business and Information Technology at age 38 and headed back to Nigeria earlier this year in February to apply for his UK student visa as he got itted to University of Sunderland to do his Msc in International Business Management. He got his visa in March and left immediately for the UK because lectures started in March. He applied for his wife and 3 kids to him, they got their visas and he went back to Nigeria in August to fly back to the UK with them. The news spread like wild fire here in Nairobi, that triggered many to start looking for their WAEC certificates, sending relatives to go to the secondary schools they attended in Nigeria to get them. It is never too late. 12 Likes 1 Share |

graciamore: I understand but this is beyond Whatsapp chat. On a weekend get some of the things of the children and take the children to wherever their father is and leave them with him, it will dawn on him that nurturing kids is not an easy task. Back in the early 2000s we had this neighbour and his family then in Lagos. He got a job at a quarry in Ewekoro, Ogun State and the arrangement was him coming home during the weekends, after about 2 months or thereabout he stopped visiting his wife and kids who were still in primary school then and even stopped providing for them. Rent expired, he was least bothered and the second hand clothes the woman was selling was barely enough to sustain them. Their things were thrown out and they had to squat with neighbours. On a Sunday the woman dressed up the kids and headed to Ewekoro with them, got to where her husband lived and met him at home, dropped their children with him and left for God knows where. By mid-week he came back to our neighbourhood with their kids looking for his wife and willing to talk things over. Don't carry the load alone, they are also his children. 5 Likes |

"So, Nigeria is just hawking, not trading in the global cargo market. There are 500,000 to 620,000 tonnes out of Kenya every night. Here, we cannot boast of 20,000 tonnes a week"...Very true! ![]() Carrots, baby maize, chilli, peas, fruits, flowers etc that would be on the shelves of some European supermarkets tomorrow, is presently being packed in Nairobi and some other locations right now and will be heading to the airport in the coming hours for departure to some countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia. 71 Likes 2 Shares |
