Please what stocking density (m² or ft² per pig) is advised? Weaners? Growers? Adult 100kg+? How many of the above sizes will grow comfortably in a 10×12ft pen? Thank you |

femu:Hello sir. What stocking density do you practice in your farm for various sizes? And what density would you advise a newbie like myself? |

Jimisho:Could you please advise me on a fair/good stocking density for weaners, growers and 100kg+ adult? |

tayo52:What stocking density should one adopt? Personally, how many adult pigs would you have in a 10×15ft room? And How many growers would you stock in same space? |

EMMAACHILE:Okay. Thanks again |

EMMAACHILE:So how do I go about the heating. I read somewhere on this thread that kerosene lamps are not the best for DOC (maybe due to fumes/smoke), ...but I don't think the enclosure can house the birds and still accommodate a coal burner. What if I have a steady power source, can I use 2 100watts bulb to provide both light and heat 24/7. Will it suffice? Again what do you think of the vents around the box, with regards to ventilation? |

EMMAACHILE:Okay. Thanks |

Page 0 till last comment done. First off, my appreciation to all the fellows putting in work, from OP Emma to Turks and many others whose practical problems have prompted practical solutions. Many have made mistakes and lost money, and have been bold and open enough to share so that the rest can learn and be successful. Many thanks to you all. I have grabbed (copied text) a couple of lessons (15 pages, 2384 words) which I hope will be helpful when I venture into poultry farming. 1 Like |

robonski15:@Robonski what are your thoughts on my question? Or rather what type of aeration do you employ? Can you recommend a good one please? |
![]() |
Hi Gurus. I'd like you guys to advise me on what to choose for my Fish farm aeration. Between; 1. Air Compressor. 195L/min. 38kpa pressure 2. Air Blower. 190L/min. 6kpa pressure. I saw a video on YouTube (by "Mr FISH" ![]() NOTE: Image on a chair is option 1, the other is option 2. Am stuck with deciding which is better for my 3ponds System (12×9×4) tarpaulins, and I like suggestions to factor in a 300% capacity expansion (concrete pond). 1 Like |
