Eagba: I initially felt like to reply your tirade likewise but on a second thought, I guess I'll refrain. I'll give you just one example. You must have read in the news about cement being cheaper in other countries than Nigeria. Even David Umahi was complaining about it in the news. Are the machines used for construction made in Nigeria? They're imported. Steel rods are imported. Even fuel is imported. Then you add the importers profits. Now ask poor Nigerian villagers to contribute money to build road. It's not a fair comparison. In china, USA, they have all the machines needed there so they can afford to build a road in a week. But here, in some cases, the contractor have to wait over 5 months to ship the equipment from abroad, clear at the ports before transporting to site. Cement and steel for road construction are cheaper abroad too. Look at Dangote refinary. If it were in China or USA our even India, maximum 2 years they have finished it because all the equipment needed can be easily made there. But being here in Nigeria, almost everything in refinary has to be shipped from abroad. ... Then when you add unstable exchange rate....naira from about 250/ dollar to current 900/$ Now ask yourself again if it is Fair to compare Nigeria purchasing power with developed countries purchasing power. It's definitely a very unfair comparison 2 Likes |

1Sharon: I'm afraid it may take up to next three generations for Nigeria to get to Europe level.... Because dirty rough environment is "normal" in our psyche. Most people don't see anything wrong with it. Look at market women, their environment is always dirty. Or maybe Nigerians don't like patronizing shops in neat environment cos they think dirty environment traders are cheaper... I don't know which one. Either way a lot of people will have to die off before things can change here. Look at those iron scavenger boys... You install rail guards for bridges and next morning they have stolen it. Or shitting in newly built classroom blocks... Things like that. There are even people that remove drainage covers to use as step for their homes 3 Likes 1 Share |

1Sharon: Why the emphasis on churches only? Is Christianity the only religion in Nigeria? The church is not responsible for the state of bad roads in the country. Churches build roads too. Just that there isn't much publicity about it. Winners Chapel has offered to fix the entire length of the Sango Ota roads. The govt refused. Who is responsible for building & fixing roads in Nigeria? It's the government It's a matter of "Responsibility". Is it right for a neighbor who is struggling to make ends meet to be feeding the children of rich next door neighbors whose parents are squandering their income on prostitutes, fancy laces and jeweleries and clubbing while their children are starving at home? It's not right. The most you as a good neighbor is to give the kids what you can afford once in a while. Let the parents wake up to their responsibility So to say individuals and religious organizations should be building roads is very wrong in the first place. PEOPLE ARE PAYING TAXES & LEVIES FOR A REASON. Do the governments abroad that built build beautiful roads & streets have two heads? Let the Nigerian governments sit up to their responsibility 7 Likes 2 Shares |

1Sharon: But about religion. People do it for their compounds. The people that have money sometimes do it for their street too. There's a man on my side, HRM Friday Abaja who interlocked every single road in his community (umukwata). Even in my community, someone bought nddc to tar up a large chunks of the internal roads. So people can do it. People that give to religious institutions have their reasons. You can't tell them how to spend their money 3 Likes |

For environment to be dirty like that is normal in Nigeria. That's the mentality. People don't see anything wrong with it. Secondly No money. The authorities that are supposed to do it are not doing their job. Is it the common citizens that are struggling to make ends meet daily that should be doing their job for them? To put fine environment like that in place requires a lot of money. Individuals are looking for how to get and pay bills.... Govt officials/civil servants are more concerned about securing their future before they live office. So it's very a difficult challenge to overcome without dedicated willpower and funding 47 Likes 3 Shares |

Kobojunkiee: Reality is different from theory. A person can be very nice outside as a colleague and as a close friend too... but living with that same person can be an entirely different experience And people do change with time too. So one cannot say as this person is doing now before marriage is how the person will continue doing after marriage. So with respect to marriage, to be safe is better than to be sorry. If anyone use marriage as social experiment in order to prove a point (in this case, whether it is okay for a man to marry a woman of higher status wealth than him), let them take fully responsibility for their actions when things don't go as they anticipated instead of ing the blame to someone else |

KINGKONG: ![]() It can't work like that for now because I don't think the technology is available. The current generated by solar s is in pulses. It's not steady. If you connect a solar directly to a UPS, it'll come on, but maybe 3 seconds after, go off. That's because the wave is not steady, like zig zag pattern. That's why a battery is needed to store the current from first |

Kobojunkie: For where? ![]() This kind Theory is different from practical because oftentimes, couples don't really know the kind of person they got married to until few weeks after the wedding when there is no need to be pretending/hiding personal flawsb again that's when they start showing their real self ![]() So that's your assumption... But in reality, it hardly ever turns out like that |

Kobojunkie: 1. Q: What is wrong with the woman attempting the very same when she too has money?. Answer: There is nothing wrong with her doing it but Later she will bring it up against the man ... How she has been doing this and that. most women will remind the man of it later as if they did the man a favor. 2. They get married but if she doesn't let her husband take responsibility for the home because she has more money & hence cannot live within the means of what the husband can provide for her, it's a potential cause of conflict that can lead to divorce |
![]() |
Kobojunkie: 1. A man can be doing something for 20 years and see it as normal thing. But if a woman does the same thing even for just once, she will likely bring it up one way or the other later how she did the man a favor by what she did. Whereas the man has been doing it for years happily without even considering it as anything. For example.... Say... School fees or gas... A man can buy gas for years or pay fees for years without any hassle. But if a woman have to do that even just once, she will start complaining of how she laboured to use her money to buy gas or pay fees. From a male perspective, the kind of complain is very annoying. Now imagine the wife has more money than the husband. Every single thing she buys outside what the husband gives her will be will be up for contention later. It can generate much bad blood between the couple. If a man has something, it belongs to both of them. But if a woman have something it is hers alone. His car is their car, but her car is her car alone... And If anything happens to her stuff, the kind of complaint that will full the house eh... ![]() 2. Women don't accept responsibility for their actions and decisions when they turn out to be wrong. They will look for the nearest man to blame for it. If the woman have more money than her husband, she will likely be transferring all the blame to him. "You didn't do this, you did not do that... Why can't you do this and that while I was away? ... Who asked you to do it? It is your fault, you are the cause.." ... Any man that stay with in that kind of relationship, someone will either kill the other due to extremely bitterness or the man will die of heart attack/high blood pressure. That is why senior men don't argue with women forming "pepper". They just wear their shoes and run else na premature death |

Oshomo12: They are for geeks. People that understand what they are doing. Not everyone is like that. How many people, especially women, know the difference between live and neutral wire? If you want to do solar for someone who doesn't know anything about basic electricity, the less complicated, the better. I have a small set up of single , pwm cc, battery and sachet inverter at village. Old man and baby bros travel go village. Five days later they messed me that "the solar is not working again" ![]() Apparently, junior bros had been running down the lead acid battery overnight to charge his phones. Cc zeestone99 Valto I've been wondering, what is the difference between sachet inverter and the bigger Stabilizer/UPS/Wall mounted type of inverter? Someone posted a 3,000w sachet inverter for 66k ... But the other non sachet inverter of same rating would probably cost 200k Aren't they the same and what's the difference? dollarnaira: 1. Then the manufacturing company is risking their business. Make den continue ![]() 2. You are expert nah. You already know all these things. What about people who don't know jack about electricals? Ordinary wall socket or bulb holder socket they cannot replace. You will not be the only one to be using the system. If you are away from it from a while and something falls out of place, the other people using it will have no idea what is wrong, even if it is a simple stuff as breaker cutting power in event of overload, or item plugged is short circuited, they can't know how to turn it back on. So the less wires, the better... Not for you, but for others who know nothing about electricity |
