Ghana has prohibited some items from entry into its domain, following Nigeria’s foot steps that restricted 41 items from access to foreign exchange. Ghana however has placed a ban on some goods from being imported into the country.

Ghanaian Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah stated yesterday that Ghana and Nigeria are said to for some 68 per cent of the ECOWAS region’s Gross Domestic Product. President Muhammadu Buhari with his Ghanaian counterpart, President John Dramani Mahama. Nigeria s for almost 10 per cent of Ghana’s foreign trade volume, whereas Ghana is listed as the 9th largest trade partner to Nigeria

Favourite investment hub In spite of the difficulties, Ghana remains Nigeria’s largest trade partner and favourite investment hub in the West Africa sub-region, as Ghana imports the largest share of all Nigerian oil exports in the West African sub-region. While ‘bagged cement’ is on Nigeria’s prohibition list, Dangote Cement brings in and bags some 750,000 tonnes of cement a year for the Ghanaian market, and is expected to increase this to 1.5 million tonnes by end of this quarter. The Chief Executive Officer of Ghanaian Association of Ghana Industries condemned Nigeria’s economic policies and stated that there should be a clear letter written to the Nigerians complaining about this, and then also try and use some diplomatic means to quickly resolve it,” “If it does not work then we must also look at countervailing measures…it could be product targeting,” he said. “If we also make it difficult for them to export, then we would have to find common ground,” Kate Quartey-Papafio, CEO of Reroy Cables argued

Even for those who are able to export to Nigeria, you have to get different certificates for different customers and it takes a whole lot of time to get it. It makes the whole thing so cumbersome. You are exporting the same thing but you have to go and get certificates for each of the customers,” she said. Nigeria has used an “Import Prohibition List” to refuse certain goods entry into that country, including a host of pharmaceutical products. Also, the Managing Director of Intravenous Infusions Limited, a pharmaceutical company, Mr Richard Okrah noted that his company could have generated an additional 25% of export turnover from the Nigerian market. “We have been making efforts through our agent in Nigeria to get us off this list. But it is becoming a very difficult job for us,” Richard Okrah told the B&FT by phone

The company, he said, currently produces close to 6million IV fluids of various sizes per year, and that: “We have the capacity to step this up to 15 million because we are installing a new semi-automated plan that should be up and running by the middle of April this year”. He said his company faces no such restrictions from Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire and other countries where it exports to.

– Fishermen discovered dead body floating in the Otuoke river – The police confirmed the report – The location of Jonathan’s uncle remains unknown A cousin to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, who was kidnapped together with his father Chief Inegite Jonathan, was found dead in Otuoke, Bayelsa state on February 19.

Relatives said that the fishermen found the body of Samuel Oki, 35, that was floating in Otuoke river, two days after the kidnapping. Times reports that the state’s police spokesman, Asini Butswat, was aware of the report, but could not immediately confirm its details. He said he was working to receive updates from the divisional police officer in charge of the area.
Fishermen rose fears about the safety of the ex-president’s 72-year-old uncle, whose location remains unknown. A family member of the deceased, Igbogamini Paul, said they believe that a gunshot they heard during the kidnapping was targeted at Oki. The locals said local fishermen found the body and attached it by the shore to prevent the body from being carried away by water currents. The body had been carried out to the morgue in the area.

The abductors have yet to establish any with the family of their captive since Wednesday. Butswat, police spokesman confirmed the incident saying that the police still trailing the kidnappers. “On 17th February, 2016, at about 03.30hrs, seven unknown gunmen abducted one Inengite Nitabai at his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area. “A massive manhunt have been launched by a combined team of Marine Police and Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command, to rescue the victim and arrest the abductors.

Kidnappers reject N30m offer “Investigation is ongoing,” he said. Oki alongside with his father were snatched away from their residence in Otuoke, Ogbia local government area, Bayelsa state, on February 16. Nitabai was first kidnapped on February 23, 2014 during the istration of the ex-president.

Worshipers at a Pentecostal church sustained minor injuries after a naughty 15-year-old boy caused a stampede.

The faithful bolted out of the church, falling over each other after the alleged rascal, hidden from their view, pretended to be ‘the devil’ and scared them stiff.

It all began after worshipers closed their eyes and began chorusing a prayer before the sermon could begin. The boy is said to have tiptoed and picked the extra microphone at the lectern before hiding behind two loudspeakers.
All of sudden, the churchgoers heard a booming voice with devilish guttural sounds rasping through the church public address system, announcing that they were now in hell and the voice speaking belonged to the devil himself.

After a loud silence rent the air, the ‘devil’ ordered all those who truly believe in God to raise their hands, to which none responded. Instead, everyone was looking at each other with fear written all over their faces.

The ‘devil’ then announced that everyone sits down on the floor awaiting further instructions.

As the scared congregates shook and wet their pants, the pastor bolted out of the church at maximum speed before they followed suit.

The sudden frenzied rush, coupled with “shetani ashindwe” shouts, created a fine mess, making some of the faithful to think it was the much-talked about biblical end time.

It was the sight of elders jogging away as fast as they could, women and children wailing for help with other scared worshipers fervently begging for mercy from the ‘devil’ that tickled the offending boy, making him to laugh uncontrollably.

It was then that the church technicians who maintain the music instruments realised they had been played.

They looked around only to discover the extra microphone was missing and suspected the offending character was hiding within the church. The technicians took to the pulpit and announced that the incident was actually a hoax.

At this point, those who had taken off and had been watching the drama unfold from a safe distance returned. The pastor took the microphone and began speaking in tongues and mumbling gibberish as if to curse the offending character.

“Raghashanda… ragalabanda… ropokolomashekele….,” the pastor went on as he denounced the devil, calling him a liar. “Riswa! Riswa! Shetani ashindwe!” he cursed.

As few brave trooped back, the boy who was hiding between two giant speakers rose up still laughing off his head. He was almost roughed up, had it not been the timely intervention of older churchgoers who pleaded with angry parishioners.

They told them to forgive the boy for he didn’t know what he was doing. Meanwhile, in his defence, he claimed he was only testing the parishioners’ faith in God. The sermon went on uninterrupted afterwards.

Following media reports credited to of the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), threatening to carry arms in self defence against the Nigerian nation, Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has warned pro-Biafra agitators to reconsider their stand on bearing of arms or face the wrath of the extant laws concerning firearms.

Arase also warned that anybody who dares security agencies in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, and make life difficult for law abiding citizens, will face dare consequences of their actions.

In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, A Olabisi Kolawole, the IGP further cautioned “the IPOB to follow appropriate avenues in ventilating their grievances as anybody who steps out of bounds will be decisively dealt with. Consequently, the IGP has directed all Zonal AIGs and State Commands s to strictly enforce the laws against the use of illegal firearms across the length and breadth of the country.

The statement reads,

“The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to a publication credited to the Indigenous People of Biafra ‘to carry guns in self defence’. “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, has sternly warned of the IPOB to reconsider their stand or face the wrath of the extant laws on bearing of firearms. “ of the group should therefore note that it is an offence punishable under the criminal Law of the Federation of Nigeria for a person to have in his possession or under his control any prohibited firearms without licence or permit.

The IPOB are advised to be guided in respect of the above as the Police Force is poised to uphold the existing restriction over the use of firearms. “Meanwhile, all Zonal AIGs and State Commands s have been directed to strictly enforce the laws against the use of illegal firearms across the length and breadth of the country.

“The Inspector-General of Police has assured that the Nigeria Police Force, complemented by other security agencies in the country, will tirelessly and assiduously work towards eliminating any threat to internal security and social disorder

He has reassured Nigerians of his commitment to their safety and security.

I write with a heavy heart, on this Christmas day, as a result of what is going on under your leadership regarding the Biafra agitation and the leader of the IPOB (Indigenous people of Biafra), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu. Let me first say that I, as an Igbo person, ed your election and campaign ionately for it on social media, but I am now on neutral grounds, because of the way you are handling the cry for Biafra though I will always any good strides you are making for the people of Nigeria.

Some of the reasons I ed you are: 1. Your wife said during a pre-election interview that you promised to lead by listening to the concerns of the people and doing what the people want.

2. As a former soldier in the United States Army, I knew that the discipline you have as a retired general of Nigeria Army is what is needed to clean up the corruption that has long retarded the progress of Nigeria.

However, during your interview in the USA, I believe at the State Department after your election you were asked a question about how you would handle the Niger Delta on amnesty and women issues, your answer was that and I quote, “constituents that gave me 97 percent votes cannot, in all honesty, be treated equally with constituents that gave me 5 percent.” Both videos of your wife promise of your leadership and your ission of prejudicial treatment of people who did not vote for you is there on Youtube for anyone and the whole world to see.

Mr. President, the problem with this whole situation is that with the way you are currently treating the IPOB matter means that your wife has lied about you wanting to lead by listening and leading according to the needs of the people. Moreover, I, as your initial er, was very bewildered and embarrassed when I saw that video where you itted that you would lead by preferential treatment of those who voted you into office. Those who voted you into office are majorly from your region, the north, as well as the Southwestern region.

Igbos were the ones that only gave you 5 percent vote because they did not trust that you would lead with integrity. And guess what you are doing now! You are proving them right. You are showing that their fears were valid. Mr. President, leadership requires that you must be fair to all and sundry no matter how you feel about them. You cannot lead with a vindictive spirit to get back at those who didn’t want you to win.

Just look at President Barak Obama for example. Barack Obama has and still suffer from a severe opposition of a great number of Americans who don’t like him, but guess what, he still leads everyone with equal and fair treatment.

A leader that is temperamental enough to vilify a group of people because they did not vote for him is not yet a leader. A seasoned leader overcomes all negative emotions that tempts him to mistreat any section of people under his leadership. Otherwise, it is a dictatorship and not democracy. Also, that many Igbos and Yorubas, who did not want you to become the President, accused you of being a dictator, and I have to say that you are proving them right for holding Nnamdi Kanu hostage.

I must mention that I am not for or against Biafra. I am for peace and fairness for all. If it were within my power, I would lead my people, the Igbos, to focus on what they are good at and leave Politics to those who want it so bad. On the other hand, I have seen that my people are very unhappy in Nigeria and feel grossly marginalized. And since they have been bold enough to start a protest, they need to be heard and not ignored or shoved aside. They are human beings with feelings, values, and aspirations no matter how inconsequential anyone might see them.

So in that case, I that there should be a referendum and due process to make a country of their own. Now there is a possibility that we may not get all the required vote to amend the Nigeria constitution; but in that case, we would have seen that due process was given and anyone that fights it would be called a trouble maker. Right now, the trouble maker is the leader that have imprisoned the leader of a group that wants to move on to a better world for themselves. YOU are the trouble maker, Mr. President! You can stop all this by releasing him and demanding for him to go through the right process.

I have written partially on this in the past and to your attention as well hoping that your social media crew would bring it to your attention, but I have not seen any meaningful or positive action taken towards this case. Some people have advised me that if the Igbos really want to secede, they would not have to go through you and others have educated me as well that all that is needed is for the IPOB to forward a motion for Referendum through the Nigeria National Assembly.

You might wonder why then am I writing to you if we knew what steps to take. I am writing to you because you are the President of a country in turmoil who has the power to quell the disaster that is brewing under you. The solution to put a stop to the agitation for Biafra is in your hands. All you have to do is take a leadership step by releasing Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and advising him and the group to begin the process of Referendum. If the motion holds, good, if the motion fails, then you have done your job as the President.

May I please remind you that the British, the Russians and the UN have wisely made suggestions for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu and for Nigeria to allow a Referendum to go through, but with all due respect, it all seems to have fallen on deaf ears. The only response I have seen from your office is a statement that NO GROUP WILL BE ALLOWED TO TEAR NIGERIA APART. Mr. President that is not a responsible statement in the midst of what is going on.

Nigeria has never really been one. There is a deeply ingrained spirit of tribalism in Nigeria that has infected the political and economic fabrics of the nation of which is one of the biggest reasons driving the Biafra agitation. Igbos feel totally marginalized and rightfully so. This situation is like a bad marriage where one partner is very unhappy and keeps wanting out of the relationship, and the other partner refuses to corporate because the relationship benefits them more.

Your energy will be better served fighting BokoHaram rather than fighting IPOB agitation that has a simple solution. And I must say that how you are handling this situation makes it look like all of a sudden Mr. Kanu has become more dangerous than BokoHaram that is still killing people actively in Nigeria when Mr. Kanu has not killed one person. When people protest for a cause, it is the responsibility of the leaders to address the issues surrounding that cause, not imprison the individuals. The cry for Biafra did not start today. It has been going on for ages that also led to the massacre of over one million Igbos around 1967. I am not a good student of history, so I will not pretend to go into it. But I am sure you know what I am talking about.

I implore you to please listen to right conscience and make the judgment that will bring positive resolution to this case and prevent lives from being wasted over a civil war. You have the power to do this by the simple step I have mentioned above. Once again, let me say it again. Release Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and instruct him and his group to go through the right channel through Nigeria National Assembly to put forward the motion for a referendum. Though you are old, you still have a young family that will live on after you. What legacy do you want to leave?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Ij Onuigbo
Ex-US Army Captain

Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has urged governors of the South East and South South states to hands and stop the attack on pro- Biafra protesters by security agents in their states. Leader of MASSOB, Chief Solomon Chukwu who stated this during the group’s sensitization visit to Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, described the killing of defenceless protesters as a crime against humanity and urged governors to speak up and stop playing politics with the lives of the people. Detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in court, yesterday.

According to him, “The governors are the chief security officers of their states; they should not sit and watch while security agents kill defenceless protesters. It is the right of the people to protest; they don’t bear arms, why would security agents turn their guns on the protesters who were holding a prayer session in Aba? It is all part of the plot to destabilize the former Eastern region. South East and South South governors should wake up and stop playing politics with the lives of their people. They should rise and take up the matter with the authorities. Enough is enough.” S-South should stand with S-East He urged the people of the S-South region to continue to stand with their S-East brothers to actualize an independent state of Biafra, where they will find satisfaction and freedom to enjoy their resources. Chukwu who later visited the residence of the late Deputy Head of State of the defunct Biafra Republic, Gen. Philip Effiong, commended the latter for the role he played in Biafra and MASSOB’s Regional , Uyo region, Obong Bassey Bassey, for the massive mobilization of in the city and environs, urging them to insist on the group’s non-violent approach to the struggle and insisting that Biafra would soon be actualized. While commending the MASSOB leader for the visit, Bassey said: “Since the late Gen. Philip Effiong fought for Biafra with all his might, we will also hands to fight for freedom

Nigeria has failed us, our only hope is Biafra. We believe in Biafra.” Vanguard gathered that over 1000 people were ed as MASSOB during the visit. Allegations of starvation, harassment and intimidation However, in a new development, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that its detained leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu is being denied access to food and toiletries and has been subjected to serious intimidation and harassment by some prison officials in Kuje prison, warning that it will make Nigeria ungovernable if anything happens to him. It condemned the inhuman treatment being meted to Mr Kanu, saying the attitude was meant to dampen his spirit and make him denounce Biafra, adding that the Kanu they know will never shift grounds on his total commitment to the actualization of sovereign state of Biafra

The Igbo, Ijaw, Igala, Igbanke, Igede and others have one value system and nobody can change it.” Also, the Ogurushi Igbo, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has appealed to the Federal Government to without further delay, release Mr Kanu unconditionally so that the Igbo elders will have a chat with him on his group agitation for Biafra, adding that the agitation for Biafra will be more fierce if anything happens to him in prison. “The agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra will enter into a dangerous dimension if anything untoward happens to Mr Kanu in prison. I do not think that young man has done anything deserving of the suffering he is going through in prison. I do not think that somebody without a gun or any dangerous weapon who is protesting in his own way the marginalization of his people and demanding that they be allowed to be on their own deserves to be incarcerated this long. “Boko Haram insurgents are being tried and released even in the face of killing people, but Kanu was not caught with arms, neither was he training any violent group. So on what basis should they continue to hold him

He is only saying that his people are marginalized and therefore should be allowed to have their own country. That has not called for the kind of trial he is going through. Which treason are they talking about? I advise the Federal Government to release him unconditionally,” he said. “I am using this forum to appeal again to the Federal Government to release Mr. Kanu. He must be counselled by the Igbo elders when he is released, and let us get things right, the young man is doing what he is doing because he discovered that his people are marginalized. As long as he did not train anybody to carry arms, he is a real Igbo man. Afterall, he did not stay in London where he has everything to enjoy. He has a genuine reason for his agitation and it must be looked into while the Igbo elders talk with him when he comes out,” he said Allaying fears Meantime, the leadership of a southeast-based Coalition of Human Rights Organizations, SBCHROs, yesterday, allayed fears that if Justice John Tshoho of the Federal High Court 3, Abuja Division is allowed to hear and determine the treasonable felony charge against the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, he may likely end up ing a death sentence on him like Justice Ibrahim Auta did to the leader of Movement for the Survival of Ogoni people, MOSOP, Ken Saro-Wiwa, based on the bias and hostile attitude he had so far shown in handling the matter.

Besides, the group said that if allowed to conclude Kanu’s matter, Justice Tsoho might use the opportunity to please President Buhari so as to advance his ambition to be appointed the next Chief Justice of the Federal High Court, after the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice of the Federal High Court, Ibrahim Auta and his second-in- command, Justice Adamu Abdu Kafarati both of whom are expected to retire in 2017, based on the attainment of their statutory required age of 65 or 35 years of service. Justice Tshoho and three options of handing off the case They therefore gave Justice Tshoho three options of handing off the case and its case file or be dragged before the National Judicial Council, NJC and be made to face local and international advocacy campaigns. In a press statement issued yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra state,SBCHROs however contended that on the other hand, for the purpose of fair hearing and the avoidance of doubt, they were offering him an opportunity to prove them wrong over the foregoing by showing the world that he has nothing to do with the reported CJ ambition between now and 2017 and that he will henceforth change his hostile attitude and disposition towards Nnamdi Kanu and others in the case before his honourable court. In the statement, SBCHROs insisted that if truly Justice Tshoho is gunning for the CJship position, then he should hands off the matter for obvious conflict of interest, including his compulsory disposition to do that which would please his potential appointing authority.

They therefore warned: “We make bold to say that we shall resist unstoppably all attempts to sacrifice the lives and liberties of Nnamdi Kanu and others for selfish interests such as CJ ambition powered by sheer act of puppetry and politico-judicial leprosy.” They maintained that the widely condemned way in which Justice Tsoho has handled Kanu’s case so far may most likely be connected with the ambition as per who becomes the next Chief Judge of the Federal High Court when the current CJ, Auta leaves office in 2017.

I initially didn’t want to share. It wouldn’t really speak well of my personality, at least as an employed Lagosian. I am quite okay, I have a very good job that gives me utmost satisfaction. I am learning on the job, building my experience and not only that, the job has afforded me the opportunity to involve myself in other businesses without much interference on each other. So myself falling to that kind of scam is nothing worth sharing, but eventually I thought for the sake of other people learning from this. I am going to share with you what actually happened to me on Monday.

I was actually surfing through the net when I came across this strange website or blog. It was a reference from a facebook group like that. The guy actually spoke of how he was able to get loans without collateral and with time, the loan was cancelled when he showed much seriousness in paying back. Though, I don’t most of the time fall for this kind of crap, as I just read and .

But I didn’t know what actually happened that Monday night, although I realized it was getting late already and after spending so much time from about 8 p.m surfing the internet, I was already getting tired and rounding off my browsing, when I came across the post. So out of curiosity, I decided to check it out.

I was directed to a particular blog – I must confess, I can’t even the name as I write. The blogger or scammer started with how he was sent by God to assist others, he claimed he has been blessed by God and so God has commanded him to bless other people with his wealth. He claimed he gives out loans without collateral and that he even clears out some people’s loans if they showed much credibility. Hmmmmmm!!! It was actually getting interesting and I realized I was reading further.

At a point he claimed if the reader would like him to prove himself as a genuine money lender, that the reader should drop his number and he will send a token of N1000 instantly. He claimed to be so much blessed and very much as well ready to bless others.

Well that was not going to hurt, since it was just my number. I have never heard of a scam of an number being hacked without much details of the so I decided to just play along and send the number.

Unexpectedly, I received an alert of N1000 in my after just some few minutes from when I sent the number to the guy. Ehhhhhhhhh!!!!! Am I dreaming or something? This guy has just sent N1000 to a total stranger, despite the fact that he was going to give out a loan. I felt so surprised and as well elated and I immediately thought of getting a huge loan. At least I can also start my house project with the money and since it was going to be without collateral, there was no need to panic.

I immediately picked up my phone and gave the guy a call. Not really knowing I had fallen into a big scam ring that was going to rip me of a whopping N100, 000 the 3rd day to that day.

It’s not really a good story to tell, but am going to be filling you guys in to it next time, so at least you can know about the new plot of these scamming lots and brace yourself against their tactics

…to be continued!!!

(Emmanuel Ogoigbe, WARRI) Nigerian Army 3rd battalion, Effrurun, allegedly invaded the Assemblies of God Church, Glory branch in Warri at No. 15 Itii Street off Aka Avenue, Effurun last Sunday while service was going on. Daily Sun gathered that the soldiers were invited by a breakaway group leader of the same church. A source claimed the soldiers came in two patrol vans to harass and drive worshippers away. According to an eyewitness, the soldiers came in commando-style while the church was in session and made an order that the church be closed down immediately or worshipers would be made to regret their action for disobeying the order.

‘‘We had no option than to obey the military order to protect our lives (so) everybody scampered away through the windows and back doors from the church for safety,’’ the source said.

Aggrieved of the church during a press conference with the media yesterday narrated their ordeal at the hands of soldiers. Rev. Ogwuche Blessing Bamaiyi, the district secretary of Assemblies of God Warri, confirmed the incidence, saying “There has been power tussle at the headquarters of the church between Rev. Professor Paul Emeka, the general superintendent, and his deputy Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor since 6th March, 2014.’’ According to Rev. Ogwuche:

‘‘The national leadership crisis crept into the states and various branches where the church divided into two factions, both factions led by the two warring leaders. In Warri, the factions have affected worshipers as they are loyal to their preferred factions. But in Warri, our branch, Glory branch is with the original Assemblies of God led by Rev. Prof. Paul Emeka. But the fake Assemblies of God faction led by Rev. Chidi Okoroafor has made everything possible to compel us to his faction.’’

The Federal Government has said that the reason why the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), is fighting so hard to avoid trial is because he wants to keep “the magnitude” of his alleged wrongs against the Nigeria state away from the public.

It stated this in a counter-affidavit which it filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja in opposition to an application by Dasuki seeking an order discharging him from further standing trial on charges of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms instituted against him. Dasuki’s application was on the grounds that the FG had brazenly disobeyed a series of orders of court granting him bail.

The Federal Government, through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation is prosecuting Dasuki before Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja on four counts of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms.

In its counter-affidavit to Dasuki’s application filed by the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Dipo Okpesyi (SAN), the Federal Government denied the allegation of disobeying the order granting bail to Dasuki with respect to the case.

A lawyer in Okpeseyi’s firm, ‎Emmanuel Ikpebe, who deposed to the counter-affidavit stated that‎ while the prosecution was ready to proceed with the case, Dasuki was allegedly reluctant to go on in order to keep details of his wrongs from the public.

The counter-affidavit stated, “That the respondent (FG) is willing and ready to proceed to prove the case with the order of this court at the last hearing on January 20, 2016 fixing the case for definite hearing.

“That I know that the applicant is not interested in facing his trial before this court.

“That I also know that the applicant is aver‎se to general public knowing the magnitude of the wrongs against the Nigeria state he has been charged with in court.”

‎The prosecution insisted that Dasuki was re-arrested because of “multiple criminal cases” pending against him in different courts, while adding that the Federal Government “has never prevented him from coming to court.”

Dasuki was re-arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Service on December 29, 2015, shortly after he met the bail conditions and was released by==from the Kuje prison in respect of two other separate sets of charges pending against him and others before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

He urged the court in his application to discharge him and prohibit the Federal Government from further prosecuting him on the grounds that his re-arrest by the Department of State Service was tantamount to Federal Government’s alleged act of assault on the court which had released him on bail.‎
