I'm with Prof. Odinkalu on this one. FFK was rash, emotional and divisive in his comments. Hate speech against an ethnic group because of some rotten eggs amongst them is unjustifiable.

Thank God we still have good men like Prof. CHIDI in Nigeria.

Happy Independence my people!!

PDP should allow this case get to a logical conclusion. No need stalling the process.

Even if Wike's election is nullified and fresh elections conducted, Dakuku's chances of winning are very slim.

While I'm inclined to see this apology as an act of maturity, the truth is PDP since campaigns till now have been making very reckless statements.

Chelsea (London Dry Gin) is my brand of spirit. Sometimes I dilute with "Awilo", "Chief" or "Squadron" as the case may be. However I'm careful not to consume more than 30cl in a drinking day.

Rest in Peace comrade. I perfectly understand why you did what you did even though many people don't. May God comfort and strengthen your family.

God bless us all.

“We invite Nigerians and the international community to note that never in the history of our democracy have we witnessed such a divisive government, whose actions and constitutional violations have so polarized the polity along its fault lines, while undermining national unity and cohesion, a development that spells doom for our democracy, if left unchecked.

Metuh was obviously speaking about the last istration.

Buhari sure knows what's he is doing. The corruption in Customs is Monumental and needs a man of integrity to clear up.

The only thing that we should be concerned about is what is going to be his output in government, that is where we should concentrate on.

Nice words from my Governor. Sadly though, Nigerians are very easily distracted.

Laudable. Fact though is that we don't care if you receive salaries or not, afterall you'll be fine with or without your salary. Just ensure that you clear all inherited salary arrears and in future ensure that civil servants are promptly paid.

Two lessons your must learn sir..

1. Be law abiding, orderly and decorous in future. It is unstatesmanly to disobey traffic rules by trying to beat a traffic light.

2. Never Never Never commission a non-functional, World-class hospital. After 8years of uncommon transformation in Akwa Ibom, the state still can't boast of a functional hospital that can handle victims of a not too serious accident. You'd have confirmed to the world that you were a good governor had you been itted in one of the world class hospitals in Akwa Ibom.

In all, we thank God for sparing your life and giving you the opportunity to right some of your wrongs.

God bless us all.

There is definitely something good about the Leadership of Buhari. How come people didn't expose the dirts during the last istration? If Buhari had lost would these ugly secrets have been exposed?

Buhari is far from perfect, but Nigerians definitely made a perfect choice.

Happy Sunday to all Nairalander.

What's your definition of promised land??

Buhari promised to improve Nigeria and sanitize the system.

The promised land is nowhere and also everywhere.

Happy Sunday to you all.

He only knows Lokoja to Sokoto yet..

1. We have a SS person as GMD of NNPC and another as a Service Chief.

2. Ordered the implementation of UNEP report on the cleanup of Ogoni land, something Jonathan surprisingly refused to act on.

3. Appointed an honest Ijaw man as Amnesty boss and has ensured prompt payment of the allowances of Ex Militants.

IYC should tell Ijaw youths what they've contributed to Ijaw land aside stoking the flames of ethnic division.

There should be some balance in the appointments. However what counts at the end is the ability of the appointees to deliver good governance.

Assemblies of God...

Enugu—It was a show of shame, yesterday, in Enugu as two pastors and their loyalists engaged themselves in fisticuffs at Mount Street Parish of Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria.

Consequently, police was compelled to lock up the church premises.

Vanguard gathered that the church was turned into a battle field, yesterday morning, as two pastors and their ers fought over who should take control of the parish.

Crisis of factionalisation of the Assemblies of God Church had been lingering for more than three years as two persons, Professor Paul Emeka and Dr. Chidi Okoroafor, are each laying claims to the leadership of the church, a position known as General Superintendent, a matter that is currently before the Supreme Court.

The drama started when one of the pastors, Rev. Nathaniel Udeze, came with letters of posting and other court documents as part of preparations to be installed as the new pastor at the parish.

He was promptly resisted upon arrival with his team of ers.

Leading the opposition was current resident pastor of the parish, Reverend Amaechi Agbo, who along with his ers, also vowed not to allow Pastor Udeze take over, accusing him of being an “intruder.”

The incoming pastor Udeze, said to have been very furious, insisted that he had been officially posted there by the leadership of the church under Rev. Paul Emeka.

He also insisted that Rev. Agbo had been transferred to another parish since May 2015.
Howver, Rev Agbo disagreed, insisting that he was still in-charge of the parish as he was yet to be formally written by Rev. Okoroafor’s leadership of the church, which he recognised.

Factional Sunday School

Trouble started as early as 7a.m., when ers of both pastors arrived and started sharing different versions of Sunday school manual in preparation for the main service.

When the factional pastors arrived, the situation broke down completely as the pastors started shoving each other and shortly afterwards, of the two factions engaged in fisticuffs.
Divisional Police Officer, Dennis Ayara, who later arrived the scene, made frantic efforts to bring the situation under control through negotiation, but to no avail.

The police, therefore, cordoned off the church and put it under lock, while the leaders of the two factions were asked to report to the station.
