Singer Portable has said that the One Million Boys he referred to in his viral video are his fans and not any cult group as being interpreted by some Nigerians.

Osun Governorship Election: Portable Celebrates Adeleke’s Win With Song After Endorsing Oyetola (Audio)

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Portable has celebrated the victory of Ademola Adeleke as the governor-elect in Osun state, IGBERETV reports.

On Sunday morning, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner of the election held on Saturday.

The ex-lawmaker secured 403, 371 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 375,027 votes.

EFCC Presents More Evidence Against Naira Marley, Adjourns Trial Till September 26

The trial of Azeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley continued today, July 15, 2022, before Justice I. Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos with a prosecuting witness, Dein Whyte, an operative of the EFCC continuing his evidence even as the court dismissed the defendant’s objection to the forensic evidence earlier presented by the witness, IgbereTV reports.

Naira Marley is standing trial on an 11-count charge bordering on credit card fraud brought against him by the EFCC.

At the last sitting on June 9, 2022, the defense counsel, Olalekan Ojo SAN had objected to the witness's opinion on the forensic evidence linking the defendant to credit card fraud. He had argued that only the court could make pronouncements on the defendant’s culpability, not an investigator.

At the resumed trial today, Justice Oweibo delivered a short ruling in which he dismissed the defense’s objection.

“It is the duty of the law enforcement agency or Police, charging a person to court to investigate if the defendant committed the crime or not. The investigator must be able to link the defendant to the commission of the crime. The prosecutor must have made up his mind as to the involvement of the defendant before bringing the case to court. I do not agree that the prosecution has declared the defendant guilty”, the Judge ruled.

Vice presidential candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettima, has said Peter Obi cannot become president of Nigeria, IGBERETV reports.

According to the former Borno state governor, Obi the Labour party candidate can only be president of Igboland and not Nigeria.

Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today programme on Friday, July 15, Shettima said;

Cybercrime: Yahoo Boy To Wash Toilet For Eight Months In Osun (Photos)

The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, June 20, 2022, secured five convictions before the Federal and State High Courts in Ibadan, Oyo State and Osogbo, Osun State respectively, IgbereTV reports.

According to a press release signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, a final year student of Transport Planning Management at Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, was sentenced to eight months community service for fraudulent impersonation.

The others are Amusa Abdulhakeem Oluwasegunfunmi, Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide, Lawal Samuel Morenikeji, Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun, and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek. The statement said they were convicted on separate one-count charges each for offences relating to cyber-fraud. Upon their arraignments, they pleaded “guilty” to the charges preferred against them by the EFCC.

Given their pleas, the prosecution counsel urged the courts to convict and sentence them accordingly.

Consequently, Justice Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State convicted and sentenced Oluwasegunfunmi, to eight months of community service for fraudulent impersonation, contrary to section 22 (2) (b) (1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act, 2015. The sentence requires him to clean the toilets at Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, Osun State.

Also, the court ordered that the convict’s attendance be kept by the School Principal and submitted on completion of his term.

Similarly, Justice Iyabo Yerima of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan, sentenced Ajisafe Sodiq Olaide to six months of community service for obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

In the same vein, Justice Omolara Adeyemi of the Oyo State High Court convicted and sentenced Lawal Samuel Morenikeji to six months of community service; Osuolale Abdullahi Abiodun and Olamilekan Ridwan Taofeek to one week of community service as their offences violate Section 484 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Laws of Oyo State.

The remains of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, will be buried on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Abia State, IGBERETV reports.

Osinachi, who sang the popular song ‘Ekwueme’, died on April 8, 2022, amid widespread allegations by her children, family, and colleagues that she was battered to death by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, who is currently on trial.

Mr Nwachukwu has denied the allegation and claims she died of lung cancer.

According to her obituary poster, a night of worship will hold in Abuja on Thursday, June 23 while a Night of Prayer will hold in Isochi, Umunoci in Abia state on June 24. She will be interred in her father's compound on Saturday, June 25.
