It was a really off-guard question hence why I Brought it here to share. Apparently all we rehearsed before she left like accommodation, how are you funding, what are you doing back in Nigeria, and all other personal stuff dint come out

The lesson here is: Be prepared for anything as well as learn from others' experiences as much as you can get.

Thanks for sharing. Similar situation with my partner. Studied B.tech P/A Chemistry at undergraduate and going for MSC cybersecurity with advanced practice. The immigration officer started asking how the two courses are related and how they align with career goals. Also asking technical questions on both industry. The thing be like ielets speaking test.

Be prepared for POE. They can throw you off guard

Guys, please can I switch schools ?

I got my visa through university of derby

I am currently in the UK, my school starts in 2 weeks time

Coincidentally and fortunately, another school I applied to just gave me an offer and it’s 5K pounds cheaper than Derby and the course is better than what I’m studying in Derby

I want to switch asap. Please what is the process? Help me guys

It’s going to be a bit complicated.

First check the refund policy for Derby. Once you withdraw from offer with Derby, your sponsorship would be withdrawn and so your visa. You will need a new CAS and a new application with home office. Check the processing time first before you progress.

A piece of advice, asides professional courses like medical related or law related. I do not think courses at undergraduate or postgraduate has much impact of your chosen career. I had distinction in my MBA and the only added advantage it has given me is securing interviews. There are professional certifications and trainings you can undertake if you want to switch careers. Securing a job is dependent on your CV, how you can defend it and how you sell yourself to the Hiring manager.

Have a good grade in whatever courses you undertake and it would increase you chances of getting interview and it’s good on CV.

Just my own opinion and what’s I’ve seen over the years here.

I stand to be corrected though.

My TB test expired today and my flight was rescheduled to the 21st.

I have my visa.

So do I need to redo the medicals?

Will it be an issue at POE?!

Please advice me

TB test certificate was among the documents requested at POE during my time (2018). I don’t know if it’s still a requirement at POE. If you can do a new TB test. You’ve come a long way for something less than 100k to start giving you issues at POE.

Hello guys, please I need input of those that were in a similar situation.
MA did bio this week and wants to start running POF for 2 dependants.

Based on your experience, is it better for dependants to run POF in a separate or to add money to MA's POF and use it instead

MA's POF expires Jan 25th

Please advice

If you know MA’s POF won’t be in the MA’s by the time other dependants POF matures, I won’t advise you use a single . You want to avoid explanation of huge withdrawal on the statement of submitted for dependants.

Use separate s in this scenario.

Any deceit arrangement attracts a ban and even the MA’s visa could be withdrawn if already granted.

Hi guys, I just moved to the UK In October for my PHD with my wife and 2 kids. I’m the main applicant and wife is dependent.

My two younger brothers are also coming in February for their masters with their wife’s
and kids

The 3 of us are planning on buying a property which would serve as a family house for 3 of us our wife’s and kids, instead of paying multiple rent.

We tly have about 18M in Nigeria
Please can this be enough to serve as a down payment for a bungalow where we can spread the balance over the years in a mortgage plan.

Also, we are planning on putting all the funds (18M) into one and send it to UK via form A. Would this be possible?

Please can someone advise me on the process for all this and guide us on what best to do to avoid mistakes

Hello, buying property in UK is not that easy. I don’t think lender will give you mortgage on student visa. Also you can only borrow up to 4 times your annual income. You will need payslips, HMRC tax records, bank statements as a minimum requirement. Get settled first on your student visa, switch to another visa category that can lead to ILR and get a well paying job. Furthermore you can not apply for t mortgage with your brothers. You can only apply independently or with your partner. Once your are settled, speak to a mortgage advisor or people who has ed through the process

Cheers

For people struggling with tickets and have means to pay in USD. Book a return ticket with BA it appears cheaper than one way. Put your return around May 2023. You can always cancel your return afterwards if it’s not needed but in all return is cheaper than one way. It comes to almost the same price as African countries airline and just 6:30hrs. The only condition is you have to pay in usd. The return I booked comes to $2400 and it’s within 10days of travel

Decision made since last week Monday yet, no movement of port to VAC. Please how long is it meant to take? I'm so worried

I guess you have to wait. Only if it had moved to VAC, I would say file a complaint on TLS website

Wow! Really? Please, can anyone confirm this please?

Seems it’s 180days ooo and it’s for people on definite leave to remain. I’m sure there would be a clause for dependants visa too.

Good morning house and congrats to everyone with Visas

Please, I need an advice on this issue.

I'll be travelling to the UK with my family, my husband and daughter. Initially, we applied for a 2 year course to buy time since I'll go first and they'll come me later, like after 1 year or less. To avoid any form of issues around their visa applications when they're eventually ready, we decided to process all our visas together. Then we all travel together for like a month so they can get their BRPs and then travel back to Nigeria.

Now, we're thinking, is there still a need for a 2 year course? Again, the fact that they are not physically here, will it affect anything in anyway? Like, when we want to apply for PSWV, will this cause any issue? They'll definitely come over before the end of my course, but I'll be close to finishing.

Please, I want to be certain before we take any step in that regard. has anyone gone through anything similar?

If you are on Visa, I don’t think you can live outside the UK for more than 90 days otherwise it would affect your next application. I stand to be corrected though

Biometrics appointment was 11/08/2022 Paid email was 04/09/2022 (no response yet). I want to do a paid call. Can someone in the UK call on my behalf or the call has to be done by MA?
