electromagnito: This is not true. @bold, you shouldn't make a generic statement when you're not sure. This is not true for most of the programs here. You have to go through the advisor selection process after resumption. Infact, some schools/programs give up to two semesters for lab rotation and exploration before you can choose a PI. 1 Like |

Enireqx20:That’s a lot of money. Living in Atlanta is expensive, so cost of living will add up. |

There’s a lot of ignorant people here. When all you watch is BB naija and other useless shows. Educate yourself, you won’t. Ordinary primary school social studies, you don’t know. Smh A simple google search would have saved a lot of you from this public display of ignorance. |

There’s nothing like best graduating in grad school. Just say he had the best thesis/dissertation.

some schools will ask you to submit a bank statement showing the cost of attendance for a year even when you have excess funding.

Since you’ve not resumed, you don’t have a sevis record yet. What you have is a sevis fee valid for a year. If you plan on going to another school within a year, you don’t have to pay another sevis fee. You will go to the sevis website and transfer your sevis fee payment to your new sevis number. Go to fmjfee.com, then to I-901 status, enter your current sevis ID and details and click request transfer, then enter your new sevis ID and that’s it. Kingsman01: |

Your sevis ID is valid as long as you remain in status. Yes, it can be transferred to another school. Talk to your international student advisor. For most schools, you need a transfer request form from your new school to be completed by you and your international student advisor, then you initiate the transfer of your sevis record to your new school before you can request for a new I-20 from your new school. bracelum:You need to learn how to talk to people on a public forum. I was going to just ignore you but you need a timely reminder if anyone hasn’t called you to order. Does my post sound rude or off point to you? This is a faceless forum. There’s no need to put up this kind of attitude at all. This world is a very small place. I hope you grow up pretty soon. This thread has really come a long way. Oga justwise, I hail you o. As we enter the Fall 2019 interview cycle, I wish you guys all the best. 16 Likes |

bracelum:Schools get levels and I agree with you, but not everyone has the right profile to enter top schools. What if he decides to go to a small school for his master's and then apply to a top school for a PhD? We all have different paths in life and the last time I checked, what gets you a job is what you know and the skills you have, not your school’s ranking. I know a lot of people that went to ‘small schools’ that work for top reputable companies like Intel, IBM, Dow, Apple, Eli Lilly, Amgen, to mention but a few. Ofcourse you have more opportunities in of funding, research facilities and personnel when you attend a top school. If you can’t get into those schools, attending a small school isn’t a bad idea. 9 Likes |

Don’t retake the GRE. Try your luck with Tennessee tech, Missouri state university, Mississippi state university, Northern Illinois University.

electriole:They started rolling out its since November, so you're probably late. What's your GRE score? It is late to apply for Fall 2019 but you can check out Tennessee tech. |

You applied late. Their fall deadline was February 1st. What’s your profile? I can suggest schools you can apply to. electriole: |

electriole:If you’ve not heard back from MTU by this time, you’ve probably been waitlisted. Their chemistry program is so small and they’re stingy with funding as you know. Did you apply to other schools? |

TheZed:you're right. |
