I do sincerely appreciate all the information and personal experiences shared on this thread. It has indeed helped quite a lot of people among whom, I'm a prime and bonafide beneficiary. I couldn't have done less by not holding from the forum in which I have profited immensely.

I shall be sharing my experience and timeline for my 2 applications which herald this success I've just achieved today.

My epistle may be quite long but I shall endeavour to break it in such a way that it won't bore you.

First and foremost, I will like us to imbibe the culture of reading especially of something that is quite edifying like the info on this nairaland Canada study permit. It's a fountain and repository of knowledge. If you get yourself busy with it prior to your application, you may not need to ask questions or seek assistance from any gurus.

Enough said about the preamble and now, back to the basis.

I'm 41 years of age. The journey to Canada started for me in 2021; precisely, in October. But I have no idea about the know-how. I, therefore, typed the travelling to Canada on google and I landed in nairaland, precisely thread 18 thru 19. Believe me, I read the entire thread which I started from Oct till around November.

After reading the 2 threads; 18 and 19, I became very adept at the whole process both school ission and study permit application. Needless to say, I also read other info that's related to Canadian stuff that cut across immigration both temporary and permanent residency permits.

Having been armed with the acquired info, I applied for a mission at MUN for both Graduate Diploma in Business istration (GDBA) and MBA but the GDBA ission came out with a speed of light in less than 2 weeks. I applied for ission in December and was offered ission the same December before the closed of the semester. I waited a little bit for the MBA ission but it didn't come on time. I have to go ahead and apply for the study permit with the GDBA LOA on March 1st, 2022. This is my first application

My academic background in ing and finance both HND at Yabatech (2002) and B.A (Hons) at University of Sunderland Uk (2014). I have been to the UK at least once and I have also had prior UK visa refusal which I disclosed. I have been working for the past fifteen years across multiple ing and finance designation

Documents submitted:
I'm a self-sponsored.
* All IMM forms
* 8 pages SOP (written by me)
* MUN LOA
* HND & Bsc Certs & Transcripts
* I didn't submit NYSC (I don't do it)
* Tuition deposit of $8,390 (paid thru form A. It's not a mandatory request by MUN)
* On-campus Hostel deposit with attached proof of address $ 2,200
* landed property with ed survey & CofO
* 3 life assistance policies with nominal present value combined worth of 11m and future value of 32m expiring in 2025 and 2026
* bank balance of 14.8m with no lump sum therein
* My birth certificate, NIN
* my wife and children's birth certificate and nin
* use my family: wife and 3 children as ties together with my aged mum and siblings: here, I only use their pictures where we appear together: no other documents of theirs are used.



The refusal decision heartbroken me so much that I least expected it. I therefore hurriedly reach out to some guys who are on nairaland through their private emails. Out of the whole lots I ed, Makano was the first to me and he gave me his bill which I don't mind paying thinking that the application will be done instantly and I will get approval. But that wasn't the case. Honestly, those a who got refusal and were able to announce it on the platform here were quite lucky as they got apt advice which was what they need to re-fire. In my case, the refusal overwhelmed me and I didn't. If I have done, the decision to engage the Makano wouldn't have arisen. By and large, he did a great job!

He did advise I should apply for the notes which he did on my behalf at a fee. I applied for the note on the 6th of May 2022 and it came out on the 2nd of June 2022.

There in the note, the visa officer misdirected himself, obviously and erroneously, under his reasoning for my purpose of visit that my purpose was of visit was unreasonable as I have current qualifications that's way higher than the intended course of study in Canada. And for my travel history, he said he my travel history or lack of it won't count in his assessment of my eligibility and for that reason he's refusing my application.

Come June 22nd 2022, I reapplied with the same set of docs. I only added LOE (3 pages). There in the LOE I explained the errors and misgivings of the VO with verifiable evidences which links pasted therein. I further got in touch with my faculty advisor about the development. He in turn got in touch on my behalf to the associate Deen of faculty to get a letter clarifying that the intended course of study is way higher than the current qualification I have and that I'm eminently qualify for the choice course of study.

I attached this additional documents to the same docs in my first application and I refire thru ircc portal (the new portal). The gckey portal locked me out due to network glitch otherwise it's the gckey I would have use again.

For all those still waiting on God for PPR, God has done it! Amen!!! Keep praying and keep monitoring. Also, it is advisable to order GCMS notes as many times as possible, the VO sometimes could make mistakes. So monitoring is key.

Please this port submission process seems abit confusing from the VFS website. Please can someone direct me to an existing post on this or guide me. I will like to submit to Abuja Office from Lagos.

Nigeria.

My flight was 11pm, June 27. I planned to get to lagos airport very early. I left for the airport at 3pm arrived

Lagos airport was very chaotic.
I willl advice you arrive very early. I figured I had excess luggage and what I was carrying as my carry on bag was too big. I wasn't perturbed I was ready for it. I rearranged my bag and paid for one bag extra

Then I went to check-in at Air desk.
They said they need to profile my port and ask for documents. (In my mind I was like when Naija start to dey sound sweet like this. In my mind I was like Oga which documents do you need im ready for you!)

He only asked for Arrive CAN..vaccination card and international port. He signed and added a white slip behind my port saying Im cleared I should go and check in.

Then we waited in this long Nigerian immigration ( before you this line they give you a yellow form to fill..just the line with your phone... The line was sooo long and their system was down for like 45 minutes. 3 or more people missed their flight... Again got to Nigerian airport early.

Then we proceeded to board at the right to time.
The food in air was really nice.
Tasted like yam and stew porridge...the type in the Esau Used to sell his birthright loool. We landed in CDQ airport . At 6:25 am on 28th

The airport was different, better and more excellent than the Nigerian airport. I had to plan myself for my next 10 hours layover. I asked if I have access to a lounge...they said I have to pay 50 euros for it. My seat mate at the lagos to Paris trip was going to Toronto too..so we were navigating everything together

CDQ airport is very awesome no hassles. Everything here is computerised. Just swipe your boarding and direction shows in a computerised map.

But the issue was our flight to Toronto wasn't showing on the screen yet because it was like 9 hours away nor was it written on our boarding . We asked one of the officials..she scanned my boarding and viola! My Gate appeared.. Gate K55. We had to navigate to The K area of the airport...we used a train to get there.

When I got to the gate area....then Place was really soft and chill. They had normal chairs.. Sleeping stretchers... And sofa beds. I slept for like 3 hours woke up..got something to eat... Connected to airport wifi... Make calls updated my folks about the trip and all...

My flight to Toronto was 4:40pm...they opened the line to board at 3:20pm

Here they asked for letter of introduction. (I heard the Indians murmuring that this is new..they never ask that here)

I boarded.. We took off...at 4:50pm... Landed at 7:00pm Canadian time...but there was a long queue...so we had to come out of the plane at 7:24pm

There was a really long walk...to the self service machine before getting to immigration for the study permit.

Where you scan your port..and print a ticket..this ticket is what determines the line you .. They were a lot of people! Especially from Ukraine.

I ed the study permit line. They were like 50 people ahead of me. When it got to my turn.... The VO was looked calm... I told him he has a nice haircut.. The guy smiled..he was like no one has told him that all day... So he asked for my port.. Said he will need my Letter of introduction...so I brought out my file..he was like wao I came ready.. I go..you bet! lol...

He said I had a back charge and PFL from last year....I was like yeah. He said he sees that I made the payment. I told him I have 2 friends that have the same issue and they have waited for up to a year (the guys are in this group) he said he would have asked for their UCI but there is some confidentiality clause around that. That they should send a webform stating all the details.

Then he went to print my study permit. Then he said welcome to Canada!

I left...my bags were waiting for me.

The person to pick me up was waiting. I left the airport at 9:16 pm (Toronto time)

I can't really say for sure since it's since 2019 that you did your biometrics. Mine just changed to `Completed` this morning. It first showed we do not need your fingerprint then it changed to we have not gotten your fingerprint. Before now changing to Completed.

Mine also just changed to completed today after displaying "we do not need your fingerprints" for over a month plus

I've been following this thread for a while. I applied for a Canadian student visa it's still under processing ( yeah it's that feeling). I'm hoping for the best but I'm looking a applying to a university in the states. Already began my due diligence and damn but yeah I noticed that the tuition fees were a little bit on the teeth clenching side and little to no scholarship available for undergraduates ��

Hello guys, firstly I just want to say thank you all for these informations, I have been a ghost reader for some time now, but I can't afford to get rejected again I need help, I just got rejected by the Canadian embassy for their so called financial reasons my school said I should have a minimum of 29000cad I provided 35000cad, but still got rejected ( I think it's village people) because of their so called insufficient funds. Well anyway, I have decided to try out US, maybe by God's grace I will go this year ( I was supposed to resume this September i.e Canada).
