I really like what Salako is saying because most banks, telecom companies like Airtel,MTN, Etisalat make so much use of contract staff meanwhile they make so much money here in Nigeria.
I think all these foreign companies in Nigeria must take every graduate as a permanent staff not contract.
Our governmebt will say they don't want to look into it in the name of attracting more investors. You are attracting investors that their operatiions do not favour the masses, it that good?
If you go to other countries who do not even have half of Nigerian resources, if you want to establish business there, they'll give you their conditions, some will tell you that 75% or more of your workforce (not contract)must be the indigens of that country depending on how big your company might be, but in Nigeria nobody cares. All they'll say is if you do not like it, you should resign and look else where.

My colleagues car,a toyota camry '99 model jus started a problem,he workd on the gearbox(auto trans), thereafter the gear selects well whether @ all times but he later started noticing dat if he's on speed of say 60km/h and stop accelerating,as d car slows down without matching brake and d gear decendin to 3,2 d car will vibrate until maybe he matches brake and d gear gets back to one,it stops but while accelerating,d gear engages well to all gears normally as it suppose with no issues,no vibration.
Please guys could dat be transmission issue?

The issue you are having in ur marriage now can break a man down,it can make ur bp rise,it can make you loose concentration and have problem in ur job but god forbid dat.
I think your wife has been like this just that maybe during ur courtship,u never really had time to notice all of them and also she tried as much as possible to hide her character away from u.
Now as the case is,she will never listen to you if you try talking to her,even if she does,she will give you conditions and that must be you doing everything her way which you'll never like but you must make attempt. My cousin's girl friend is insisting that my cousin must agree to wed her in her church before she agrees to marry him and probably follow him to his church.
My cousin is an anglican while the babe attends Christ Embassy.The lady is having the argument that a man marries the wife in her church and then take her to his church if he loves her and also that is how it's written in the bible. My cousin is saying he has to do his wedding in the church he attends, that if the girl is serious and really wants to marry him, she will not be giving him conditions.
I now want to ask, what is wrong with people and church these days? I know it's mainly catholics that will insist that a man who wants to marry their daughter and it's not a catholic must have his wedding in catholic church after which the girl will start attending the man's church. Some after wedding them in catholic church will refuse to attend the man's church still. Other churches like anglican church don't do that. I know a friend that attends catholic and married a lady from Redeem and wedded her in catholic church.
So does it mean that men who do not wed in their wives church before taking her to his church commit sin?

The reason why she keeps on calling you by your name is because she knows you don't like that and her aim is to always upset you.
To me I suggest you answer her when she greets you calling you by your name,nothing lasts forever. Will she stay in her mother's house forever? The only thing you should do now is never to allow her enter your house again untill she comes back to her senses. If you and your husband go to the family house and she calls you by your name, answer her, if she insults you, ignore her. keep doing it like that untill you and your husband go back to your house.
Why I'm telling you all these is because that girl is a spoilt brat, she lacks home training that's why she steals and it's her mother's fault. The day is coming when she will turn against her mum and by that time she will come begging and apologising to you.

Don't think you are loosing your respect because of your kindness, NO! A spoilt brat can never give you respect no matter what you do!

Forget these information sellers. I have tried something like this in 2005 after I finished my NYSC. I saw their adverts on newspaper and called them, later I went to their office and they promised to help me get teaching job in China but that I have to pay N45k for processing and everything. I thought they were real and I paid. Later they sent me medical papers that I should go and get medical report to confirm my fitness. After that they asked me to wait that those people will me for phone interview but nothing happend. I went back to them again disturbing them and they later gave me two UK numbers that I should call them that they are the people doing the recruitment. When I called the UK guys, those guys told me that they don't recuit teachers from Nigeria that people have been calling them from Nigeria. The also warned me never to call their numbers again. As I called my people again here in Lagos, they did not answer. Their phones were on but they wouldn't answer calls. That was how I lost N45k.
So my people, be very careful because they have come again.

I think you should stop this coz you know what you are saying here is not possible. Go and google the criteria or qualification for teaching english in China and other european countries. Besides, Chinese learn things fast so they hardly employ africans to come and teach english in their country instead they send their people to go learn the language, come back to china and teach chinese.

I was watching a programe called "FACE OFF" on channels television one night and the topic was if the problem (corruption, insecurity, unemployment, bad economy etc) in Nigeria is caused by the people of Nigeria or the Nigerian Constitution.
To me I stongly believe that Nigeria's problem is caused by Nigerian not the Constitution, especially the people who are meant to execute or implement the laws of the state. This is because whatever the law or constitution says, it is still humans that'll implement them and if those implementing the laws are have dubious and corrupt mind, then the whole system will be in shambles just like Nigeria today.

I don't think Nigeria Customs can give seized cars to people to sell. Even if any of the seized cars will be sold, you'll get your authorising note from Abuja after you must've paid then when you come to lagos, you just go to the custom office, give them the note and you'll go take your car. The custom officers in that office will not even know you. They'll just act according to what is on the note. That's the little experinece I have about selling of customs seized vehicles.

Well, there's no long story in this case. If the woman all of a sudden shows up with the child whether boy or girl and I, the man was not aware she was in anyway pregnant for me sometime in the past, I'll tell her there's no problem. I'll take care of the child as much as I can but neither of them will live in my house. If the woman insists that they must stay, then there might be something fishy goin on.

eldoradoxx: You are on point dear. The problem of most Nigerians is bitterness. An averaage Nigerian is very bitter hearted and thus any good thing from anywhere is seen from the negative view!!! The same Nigerians who see nothing wrong is paying over 1.5 million in Baze University Abuja and ABTI university Yola will cry exploitation that Covenant Uni is collecting between 5 to 600k to offer higher quality training and research than where they pay higher simply because its run by a church; do churches mint currency to run their universities? Its university for cryin out loud and not daycare centre . Same people who wouldn't complain of exploitation by some secondary schools like Turkish International sch, Adesoye College, Loyola Jesuit, etc where school fees are higher than 1.3 million per year are complaining n screaming exploitation because a university run by church collects half the amount to offer world class teaching while impacting strong moral and leadership virtues on their students. Let them continue in their bitterness, it doesn't stop crowd from rushing to the schools for ission. Government has failed Nigerians in the education sector and the church cannot afford to fail too.

Of all these schools you mentioned, is any of them owned by the church? Am asking...
They are doing their business with intention to make profit. Are these churches now profit oriented establishments?
Then if anyone does not have a house to lay his head or a widow has no money for her children's school fees, they run to church. Pastors take over the responsibilties of the less priviledged,feed them, cloth them and send them to school. Why is it that these rich pastors don't go to remote areas in Nigeria where there's no electricity, pipe born water, even common secondary school, no good church to establish these things and build schools?
The reverend in my village, most times during festive seasons people bring him a lot of things, gift, food items, cloths, money etc.
After he'll share out some of those things to many of the villagers that do not have enough for themselves... At the end of the day, you find out he only used with his family very few of all the gifts that were given to him.
Another reverend came home to his village sometime, at night armed robbers came. After taking all their money they wanted to also take a motor bike of one of the rev's brothers.
The reverend brought out his car keys and pleaded with the robbers that if they must take, they should take his car and leave the motor bike for his brother as that is the only thing he has and uses to feed his family. The armed robbers did not even know anybody there owns a car coz it was parked outside. and the armed robbers said; "truly you are a man of god" and they left without taking either the motor bike nor the Rev's car.

I did not curse anyone but was just saying what the Bible says about the poor. Even in America, which virtually all Nigerian want to kill themselves at the US embassy to get her Visa still have poor and homeless people. So no-where is free just brush yourself up and free yourself from sentiment.

Is it not that same bible that tells you to love your neighbour as you love yourself and give to the poor as god loves a cheerful giver.
If a politician or an ordinary business man builds a school and place the school fees @ N1m per semester, nobody will complain because he is doing his business, he might not know god or know what the bible says.
Here we are talking about MOGs who are suppose to lead by examples by teaching all and sundry how to love and give to the poor, letting people know that we should be more concernd about life after death not the amount of wealth you can acquire in this world. There are so many villages in this country that don't even have portble water,common scondary school, food, and other little things that help life, why do those MOGs don't like building schools there?

Sorry to disappoint you folks, the poor will ever remain here on earth, so leave the church out of all these "he should've use the money to start a factory to employ people" or "how many of his church can afford the school" thing.

If everyone crying wolf online can give back, even a little to their society then the poor would have reduced and you will not have to heap the stress of poverty in the nation at the doorstep of the church.

In the olden days, the missionaries built schools for pupils to attend free or pay a little. Even those of them that you'll have to pay, they were cheaper than government schools.
Now missionary schools are the most expensive schools whatsoever.

Can someone tell me in one sentence why these men of god make their schools very expensive beyond the reach of average parents in Nigeria...
