[quote author=Bobomaigida post=130571878] Please I need your input on my issue For context, my husband is currently studying for a one-year program that ends in December. His PGWP is one year, and to extend our stay, I am considering pursuing a postgraduate degree in my field. Now, my questions are: 1. We saw a digital marketing post-graduate diploma at a university( Considering that it is a postgraduate program but IN A UNIVERSITY,) is it advisable to go for this post-graduate diploma considering the no dependants policy, will it be diff because it’s a university? 2. I don’t understand how this works. When I start this postgraduate diploma or an MSc program, what will be my husband’s status (When my partner is starting his PGWP, and I am also pursuing a program)? Would he be on SOWP or how would that work? I’d appreciate input, advice and recommendations |

Visa Alert! Visa Alert!! Visa Alert!!! My SOWP application was approved and my medicals, eligibility and everything was updated the same day. I and my husband got married after his visa approval and we knew that might pose a lot of problems for us, so, we attached a lot of documents for proof of our relationship. A separate SOP for proof of our relationship Our wedding certificate Pictures while we were dating Email exchanges from the year 2019 Financial transactions from both of us since the year 2019 till date Whatsapp chat exchanges Screenshots of my husband's client information when he applied to show my pictures and pictures of US Pictures with our parents Pictures of us hanging out Pictures of us on my graduation Pictures of our pre-wedding shots Pictures of us in the house Pictures of us at the airport on the day he travelled Screenshots of us on video Calls after he got to Canada We added letters from our parents My mom's and father-in-law’s National ID cards NOTE: We didn't add any of our wedding pictures(the photographer messed it up) For our Proof of relationship SOP We added a column explaining to the VO why we got married after our visa approval (we answered the question we knew the VO might have) We added another column telling the VO why we had an intimate wedding ceremony Proof of funds My husband showed proof of funds in his foreign Note: I didn't show any financial documents from my end as my was a bit low. Landed documents Pieces of evidence to show he has frequent access to that bank My husband showed his tenancy agreement and receipts. We added some other documents but in all, it was just pure favour and mercy. To everyone on the line for this miracle, God will come through for you. |

Good morning everyone, To God be the glory My application was approved this March I was a bit skeptical about applying because our marriage was barely three months before my spouse travelled. I ditched the fear, applied and Got approved. I'll share my timeline so couples in the same situation(recently married folks who got married after visa approval) can have something to work with for their application. Each individual's story is unique and I believe IRCC treats it as such Don't let anyone discourage you. Give it your best shot |

They didn’t scrap any fee If you’d want VFS to send your port to you via courier after it has been stamped, All you need do is to 1. Pay 23,000 naira to VFS (you’ll find the details of the payment, name and number on their website) Once you make payment, print the receipt from your bank and add it to the documents in your big envelope before sending the port in the first place. Secondly, if you did your biometrics in Lagos and you’re sending to Lagos and you’re like a first timer sort of You won’t be needing transmission fee See You can check VFS website for full information SoteriaMo: 1 Like |

There is no need to include that information, just present her work documents. That information cannot serve as home ties because technically she can work from anywhere. So, there's no need to mention the remote part of her work. jayciekey: |

I believe one of the reasons for the SOWP is to ensure that families are united. The Spousal Open Work Permit from time has been the easiest Visa to get. Just get your proof of relationship well documented and your sufficient proof of funds handy and you're good to go. I believe the reason for the incessant rejections that Nigerians seem to be experiencing lately has nothing to do with food banks or no food banks, the major issue is with the recent policies on proof of funds. Most folks are finding it hard to really understand how to put their funds in place coupled with the exchange rate brouhaha. Imagine putting forward an application for a family of 3 with the sum of 10 million naira whilst thinking that you've put forward a strong application but, in the real sense of it, that is barely 9,000 CAD. Pending when the policy on the ban of SOWP for college students gets implemented, food bank or no food banks, as much as you're able to get proof of funds in place, you will get your SOWP. Every application is unique hence, there's no generic time for a SOWP application. However, on average, I think it's between three months on the average. As I said earlier, every application is unique and the Visa Officers treat it on merit. Hence the disparity in the processing timing.

I believe there are many samples online. For privacy, people might not want to share their Letter of explanation as it contains private information. There are a lot of materials online. Just type. Sample Letter of Explanation for Spousal Open Work Permit Canada

Good afternoon everyone, I have learned a lot from the little time I've been here. Well done. My question is that my husband is schooling in Canada, he's settled and has an apartment. I am planning to apply for my open work permit so I can him. My salary is barely sufficient to show as proof of funds but my husband has enough funds to sponsor me. Please, will the new proof of funds policy for student visa application apply to him meaning does he have to show 20,000CAD alongside 5000CAD for me How does it work, please We are currently in a dilemma and confused. |
