Nigeria earns (sell oil) in Dollars and pay salaries and allocations in Naira.
Example:
When exchange rate was N150/$ and brent @ $75/barrel
1,000,000 barrels x $75 = $75,000,000=>75,000,000x150=N11.25 billion
Same no. of barrel (1000000) at the same price $75 but devalued exchange rate of 1500/$
1,000,000 barrels x $75 = $75,000,000=>75,000.000x1500=N112.5 billion
in the example above; at the exchange rate of 150/$ govt earns 11.25billion and pay 30000 as salary but at the exchange rate of 1500 govt earns 112.5billion (10 times more) while paying salary of 70000 (2 times more).
How does it affect you:
When exchange rate was 150/$ you will buy (import) a $100 phone at 15k but with devalued rate of 1500, the same $100 phone is now being bought (imported) at 150k (10 time more costly)
That is how govt is making you poorer. So when next you sing "on your mandate..." let your conscience judge you.
However, the situation would have been better if govt had put the excess fun to judicious use by investing in production, etc; order than this reckless looting we are witnessing.

These loan apps should be avoided at all cost cos they've done more harm than good. Better to borrow money from family and friends than to use loan apps.

They are always tarnishing people's image once the person fails to pay back on the stipulated date. Even if the person is on the hospital bed, they don't care. Very callous set of people.

They should actually be banned cos those loans are just being used to exploit Nigerians. High interest rate, short repayment period... CBN isn't doing its job cos these people have violated a lot of ethical banking codes...

You should have gone CBN or other commercial banks to get the loan. Instead of encouraging borrowers to payback their loan, are here blaming loan app who are frustrated by bad debtors

As at today, Nigeria produces about 1.2m BPD of crude oil (Our main source of income, excluding mineral resources from the north which I don't know why they don't mention it. Only God knows where that money is going to). Using the official exchange rate of about 414 naira, that's a total income of 1,200,000 x 414 = 496,800,000.

THEN; 496,800,000 x 30 days = 14,904,000,000. This is approximately Fifteen billion naira FROM CRUDE OIL MONTHLY (Nigeria's income from crude oil).

Summarily, the nations income (from crude oil) AS AT TODAY CAN'T settle ASUU's demand. This draft proposal is just for academic staff salaries oooo. We've not mentioned other items.

Crude oil is not sold at 1$ per barrel as used in your calculations. This year oil has gone up as high as120$ and over per barrel. Currently it is ranging at around 100$.
However, I am not saying an unsustainable salary structure be recommended, rather something appreciate and sustainable
