You can go to Ghana via bus(ABC transport etc) or aeroplane.
You don't need visa to go to Ghana.They're in ECOWAS.Your port will only be stamped by the immigration officers at the point of entry.
Lol, if you like live inside the German embassy,Ghana,without a six-month valid resident permit,you can't apply for a visa.And the six months starts counting from the day of issuance of the permit and not the day you submitted the required documents at the immigration office.Also,note that your port must show that you didn't leave Ghana within those six months,otherwise the embassy might notice you only came for the resident permit and left afterwards during the visa application.
Your mission in Ghana is to gather relevant documents,starting from Nigeria,that'd qualify you to apply for a resident permit.
That your friend should help you out on the relevant documents.

I think in his case,Ghana would be easier for him,since he already has a place to stay and his friend's family can also vouch for him that he lives in their apartment.
Both in Ghana and Benin Republic,their immigration officers would come to if truly he resides in a rented apartment and not in a hotel.

Okay. How do i go to Ghana, like which Visa or application should i use to move from Nigeria, already i have a place to stay not too far from the Ghana German Embassy.

Already my Ghanian classmate wants me to go to Ghana but she does not know how Nigerians can get visa there. She has directed me to go and stay in there house. Pls can you help me with other options?
