Amotekun and Agunechemba seem to be working in the SW and SE respectively, proof that a regional security outfit if well managed will always deliver spectacular results. The various regional states house of assembly should push for these guys to be armed them with sophisticated weapons though, the bandits they face carry AK-47s etc

Under Buhari the excesses of this Fulani barbarians was understandable since Buhari was a Fulani man which gave them immunity...now we have a supposed Southerner in power (a yorugba) who should show more willingness to protect the greater South, but the druggie can't even protect his own people who have also been at the receiving of this herders attacks. All this rubbish never happened under OBJ because he filled his govt with Igbos, that's why yorugbas don't rate him...GEJ also had lots Igbos in his government and we never experienced Fulani attacks on a massive scale like we're seeing now. 1 Like |

But on very strict bail with a surety who will stand in for him...the surety happens to be a prominent figure from the SE and belongs to the APC party...he's also close to Tinubu. One of the of Nnamdi Kanu's bond which he has to meet is to make court appearances at specific dates from March of this year to December (reasons for which are unknown). But yeah, this is good news for the IPOB loyalists worldwide, your ohamadike will be released soon. You heard it here first! 2 Likes |

Of course trust SaharaReporters to feed off on the hysteria of using recycled fake news to create panic, the same paper that claimed Abor Eha Amufu residents were also "running" from herdsmen attacks but it turned out to be false alarm. Amegu Nkalaha is calm now and nobody ran yesterday. There was a gunbattle yesterday between the Ebubeagu and vigilante security guys and some of the criminals who were still hiding in the forest and 2 of the criminals were killed and their camp burnt.

EmperorCaesar:Which kind yeye Ebubeagu and ESN? One outfit is moribund and isn't even operational anymore after being hijacked for political thuggery, while the other has been overshadowed by Ekpa's more violent armed groups that have terrorized people in that Ihiala axis for years. Agunechemba has been dishing out serious punishment to those criminals lately around Anambra, the smart thing to do would be to leverage on this and rebrand them into a security outfit. |

The South East governors should have just made this Agunechemba security outfit into a regional one if they were smart...saves them the cost of security maintenance and it further fuses the security architecture in the SE better with Enugu as the security HQ since it already has a standard command and control facility. Great job by Agunechemba and Soludo, since the establishment of this homeland security outfit there has been less bad news coming out of Anambra as far as insecurity goes. 11 Likes |

Residents flee as herders kill five farmers in Ondo community By Adewale Momoh, Akure 30 January 2025 Assailants suspected to be herders have killed five farmers after attacking the Ajegunle-Powerline community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The suspects had allegedly invaded the farmlands in the community, suddenly fired shots in the air, and killed the victims in the process. According to sources in the community, the victims, who hailed from Plateau and Kaduna states, were working as labourers on the farm when they were killed by their attackers’ bullets. While narrating how the incident happened, one of the farmers disclosed that such attacks had been recurring, with the constant invasion of their farmlands by cattle, but the latest one was the most horrific due to the deaths recorded. The farmer, who gave his name as Akin Olowolafe, maintained that security agencies were informed of past attacks on their farmlands, but nothing was done to stop the criminals. He said: “This is how they (herdsmen) usually come to disturb and destroy our crops, and we have reported them to the state government and even to the security agencies, but no positive actions were taken by these security agencies to stop the Fulani herdsmen’s activities on our farmlands “These Fulani herdsmen just entered the farmlands on Tuesday as we were working, and they started shooting sporadically in the air and killed five people during the attack.” Olowolafe said that many farmers in the community have fled their farms for fear of being killed, stressing that the incessant clashes and destruction of farm crops had become worrisome. The farmer, however, called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the security agencies to intervene and save them from attacks allegedly perpetrated by the herders. A labourer, identified as Fidelis Daniel, who also spoke on the incident, said, “They came around 3 p.m. on Tuesday to destroy our farms, and we had warned them not to come to our farmlands again, but they didn’t listen, and when they came, they just started shooting. “I was inside the farm too when the incident happened. I just heard the sound of guns, and I immediately ran to the house. It was even God that saved me; otherwise, they would have killed me. “They suddenly came with weapons to destroy our crops and killed five people—three from Plateau State and two from Kaduna State.” Meanwhile, the remains of the victims have been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Akure Complex, by men of the Hunters and Vigilantes Association in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the incident, however, said, “There was an attack on the community, and the police are still investigating. But I cannot confirm the number of people that were killed.” https://guardian.ng/news/residents-flee-as-herders-kill-five-farmers-in-ondo-community/ Meanwhile, the remains of the victims have been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Akure Complex, by men of the Hunters and Vigilantes Association in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state. |

Bandits kill one, abduct two in Ondo community One of the sources who spoke on Tuesday said the deceased was shot dead while trying to escape from the captivity of the kidnappers. Tosin Ajuwon • January 28, 2025 Bandits have killed a middle-aged man, identified as Oluwaseun, at Upenmen in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Peoples Gazette has learnt. Sources said Mr Oluwaseun was killed on Sunday after he was ambushed by the armed bandits who had laid siege in the town. One of the sources who spoke on Tuesday said the deceased was shot dead while trying to escape from the captivity of the kidnappers. “He was killed at the weekend while trying to escape from the kidnappers. Sadly, two other persons, together with him, were kidnapped by the armed bandits,” the sources who preferred to be anonymous told The Gazette on Tuesday. Mr Owadare immediately called for government intervention, stressing that security agencies needed to rise and address the worsening insecurity in the town. He explained that there are growing concerns among residents over multiple kidnapping cases. The state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident to The Gazette and promised to give full details later. This latest incident is coming barely a few days after residents called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to take urgent steps in addressing the incessant kidnapping and violent crime being perpetrated by armed bandits in the area. I can't hate on Boniface for his decision if it's for financial reasons as much as it seems just too premature, even his place in the NT is no longer guaranteed considering how underwhelming he has been in national appearances...a player like Marmoush who is his age mate and has a similar profile to him moved to Man City, Kvara moved from Napoli to PSG etc...All these players would have moved to Saudi if they wanted to but they wanted better for themselves because they are still young. Anyways we have new talents like Arokodare coming up the ranks, time for Eric Chelle to give other players a chance. 4 Likes |

I didn't like or the candidacy of Peter Mbah at first but I'll be lying now if I said he wasn't winning me over. The man has displayed all the encouraging signs of innovative leadership especially in the area of insecurity which plagued Enugu for a long time...the RRS task force he formed has so far done well in curbing insecurity in the larger metropolis of Enugu and they are equipped with modern technological gadgets. I was in Enugu for a cousins wedding and was really impressed by the neatness and amazing road networks even in the rural areas which Mbah has done; only aspect he needs to do better in is the water scarcity situation. If Alaigbo is looking for a new generation of promising leaders, then they should look no forward than Peter Mbah and Alex Otti. 3 Likes |

I'm also hearing very positive news about what the newly formed security outfit in Ihiala and Orsu are doing, several notorious kingpins of the terrorist groups causing havoc in those axis have been apprehended. it's always a brillant initiative to apply security measures from the grassroot. |
