Priority "visa" is a UKVI commercial partner service. If available at the time of booking for your biometrics whether in May or June, you can select and pay the extra costs associated with the Priority or Super Priority services. To benefit from an expedited process, your application must be straightforward by this I mean as clear and complete as possible. Complex cases may not be expedited, especially if additional information or checks are needed.

You really do not need a birth certificate for your student visa application. Is there any particular circumstance you want to validate with your birth certificate?

Just to be clear, you are the main applicant (sister) and you want to complete a student dependant application for your brother (your dependant)? If this is the scenario, there is no provision in the student visa guidance for this type of arrangement. i do not believe there will also be a form for this.

The Case Manager will use the OANDA exchange rate from the day you submit your visa application to determine whether you meet the financial requirements for your programme. However, for planning purposes, it is advisable to use the OANDA rate and incorporate a buffer to for any fluctuations that may arise during the 28-day holding period.

I hope this information is helpful.

Michellasilva:
Hello everyone. Please what rate do I use to convert POF to naira. Is it Oanda’s website?

Proof of the origin of funds for a student visa application is not required to be pre-loaded. Based on your submission however, a case manager may request to see this if they believe it may help clarify something they have spotted in your application.

As you have mentioned that you graduated in 2024 and are not presently employed, an employment letter is not required.

Someone please let me know if I have to show proof of the source of funds or employment letter

Yes an NYSC certificate can be used to for a study gap.

No reference letter required as per your circumstance. NYSC Certificate just fine!

Victoriaautos:

Yes you can use a combination of currencies.

The OANDA rate on the date you submit your visa application would be used to check if you have the required equivalent on all currencies and have met the financial evidence

illuminaty:
Hi all,

Please can anyone confirm if you can show proof of funds in foreign currency (USD to be precise)

70percent of the POF is in Naira while the remaining is in a savings dorm that has been in it for over one year plus

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated

Just to be clear, your worry is that the first page and the last page of your bank statement contain the physical signature and bank stamp which you didn't include? there is no salary information to be noted on these pages right?

If yes, this shouldn't be a worry, if all the other pages were printed on the bank's identifiable stationary, has the bank logo, your name , number and transaction history, transaction dates etc and you have highlighted clearly the salary portions to be noted as part of your evidence it should be fine.

candor4:
Hi Everyone,

I was asked to show documentations of everything I did since graduation, I submitted today being friday Nov 2, But I made a mistake on my bank statement (this is different from POF) this is a bank statement for payslip for some months I was paid, I submitted all the months and highlighted them, but I forgot to add the first and last page of the statement, the bank statement was signed and stamped at the branch.

My question is - should I submit the same bank statement again to the same email address but correct my error?

From your enquiry below, these are my assumptions

you are either on a Masters by Research or PHD programme or you are a government sponsored student?
you are applying with your spouse because of the above?
you are both applying for independent Masters Programmes and are using the same for POF?

If any of these are correct, alongside a fully compliant POF , you should add a letter of authorization from your spouse which grants you permission to utilize the funds in the for visa purposes. This is taking for granted that you are also including documentation to prove this relationship.

nues79:
Please I am about to apply for a uk students visa and my pof is in my spouse . Do I need to submit any other documents concerning the proof of fund.
Note we are both applying at the same time.

My comments are specifically regarding the advice on the preferred financial evidence for the visa application

hmmm. There is no part of the UKVI guidance that promotes this advice as regards using one's parents above using one's personal especially where such personal is fully compliant with the specified holding period and where the accurate amount required for one's financial evidence has been provided.

It would be helpful if you provided the specifics of this person's refusal and not an opinion of the reason for refusal so we can take note of any recent trends.

Georghino02:
Advice! Advice! Advice!

Please don’t use micro-finance banks rather use commercial banks for your POF

Again it advisable to use your parents s sometimes unless you have a business to back the huge sum of money in your .

Someone was refused yesterday because he could not back it up and he was not even given benefit of doubt to be interviewed, he was refused straight, although UKVI picks randomly.

UKVI Picks randomly though and their decision can be rash sometimes. Please be careful

This is not a call for panic just advice on what I’ve heard why people were refused.

Offer letters/Employment letters are just fine!

No explanation is required for the 3 months you have not been in employment. The requirement is not for you to provide per second, per minute update of your employment status over the study gap period, showing significant engagement in the intervening period is fine.

Maleekplus234:
Help needed house!

So would a well detailed Cv coupled with employment/offer letters suffice for study gap? (10years study gap)

I can’t get reference letters from my past employers hence the question.

Also, my most recent employment ended August this year, so would an explanation be needed to that effect?
offwego: 8:27pm On Oct 27, 2024
So, i am not quite sure why a study gap letter was required as part of the documentation for a university ission application. Typically, a CV is required for a university ission application. However, if you have submitted a study gap letter to your institution as part of your ission process and wish to submit the same letter for your visa application, you may update the address to reflect the intended audience.

BigshotAsola5:

Thanks.... Should the study gap letter still carries the address of the school just as it was submitted to school or the address should be removed before using it for visa application...
Thanks for the quick response..

Technically, a CV as a standalone document is not required for a student visa application.

For a CV to be relevant in a student visa application, it should be submitted alongside the evidence of the applicant's employment history for ease of cross referencing by the case worker.

A detailed study gap letter alongside the corresponding documents to validate the claims in the letter should be fine as documentation for the study gap.

BigshotAsola5:
Is it okay for CV submitted for ission to be edit for visa application by omitting areas of work experience where he couldn't get a reference letters. An agent said his CV must be part of the ed document. Although is also ing his study gab explanation letter...

Here is a link to the IHS calculator. you can provide your details here to have an idea of the projected cost. You will see the actual cost when you are eventually applying for your visa. It would not be radically different from this.

There should be no negative impact if your submission of the documents is towards the receipt of your CAS. The important part is you need to do the maths as already explained for whosoever is reviewing so they know what to confirm. As this is going to your school, just use the body of the email to do this.

Didiama1:

Thanks for this information, although the POF is for my school, just waiting for both to mature so I can apply for Cas. My question is, since it's not for visa application I hope this won't lead to Cas denial or do I need do anything extra before submitting the POF to my school? Thanks
offwego: 7:47am On Jan 20, 2023
If this is the only area of your application you would like to draw the attention of the ECO to, you can also just use the additional/extra information section on the Visa application itself. my suggestion would be to simplify it by doing the maths by providing the outstanding financing requirement and then show the distribution of the requirement per you are presenting so the ECO knows exactly what to .

Didiama1:

If you are presenting employment history as the documentation for your 6 year study gap, i think the most important thing is if the employment history you are presenting shows a progression over the 6 year period. A trainee is an entry level position so if you are including other documents that show that you have moved to other roles during the intervening period and also shows what your present role is i do not see why the salary information on your trainee employment letter should stand out.

Saltome:
Please, I need help, I have a study gap of 6 years but I also I have an employment letter for trainee for 1 year that states 60k as salary. Please should I add it as part of my study gap or is that a red flag.

just to clarify that you are saying your reason for applying to this particular school and for this particular programme is because you will be unable to provide your degree certificate? There may be other considerations which may have gone into the decision making process that you didn't mention. However, if this is the key consideration, then you may be short changing yourself.

If you have an undergraduate degree and your degree classification is within the first class to a second class lower bracket then you are over qualified for the Bachelors top-up programme. In your case, If the senate of your institution has met and approved that you have completed your programme and approved your degree classification, you may wish to apply to a number of institutions in your course of interest at Masters level and proactively discuss the present concerns with retrieving your certificate. You may be pleasantly surprised this may not be a deal breaker for some schools and your statement/notification of result may suffice for an unconditional offer or a reference letter confirming that your certificate is awaiting issuance.

UK Schools attend exhibitions in Nigeria from time to time. You may consider attending these and explore the offerings on display and also have these conversation face to face so it can also enable your decision making.

An affidavit is your best bet. However, i am just curious as to why you have the same error repeated on both your WAEC and your degree transcript? if 2nd of March is your correct date of birth as reflected on your birth certificate asides an affidavit, i also suggest you attempt to regularize your records with all parties so you have limited instances where you continue to explain disparities in records.

AYO95:
Hi, all.
I just applied to Ulster university for May Intake, but I have issue with my d.o.b. On my waec I have 3rd of March instead of 2nd March, Same on my degree transcript. But 2nd of March is what I have on my international port which is the valid one.

Please can there be any issue on this?
offwego: 12:36pm On Sep 21, 2022
As a standard, requests for renewals can be submitted 6 months before expiration of the existing port. These steps you are proposing are quite extreme for common sense.

myhero:

I can not renew your port as long as it's not yet expired even if it's remaining one day to expire.if u really need a new port, common sense is to go to any police station and get a report certificate on missing international port (about 10k),with the police report, u go straight to court and swear affidavit. With the police stuff and ya affidavit, u go to immigration and apply for lost port.. I will advice u to go to immigration headquarters at Abuja. Within 2 weeks, u will get new port

Wrong advice bro.

With relevant experience in your proposed field, HND and Third class holders get ission easily. This has been demonstrated in this forum repeatedly. So many schools in UK accept HND and Third Class.

HND and Third class holders in this forum have gained ission in Roehampton University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of West England. Google the question and add nairaland for the full lists.

Those who don't get ission have no relevant experience with poorly written personal statement and recommendation letter.

offwego:
Two things for you to note

You would need to have additional qualifications by way of a PGD or significant work experience(depending on the programme you may need to show significant relevant work experience) to your application with an HND.

Secondly, you will also need to be proactive in your application by making it stand out. Simply because institutions are receiving loads of applications globally for the same programme you are applying for from applicants who hold a Second Class degree and above. So you need to ensure you write a compelling personal statement that demonstrates how you meet the entry requirements for the programme you are applying for and provide relevant references.

whatever institutions you apply to at the end of the day, you need to give the issions team a reason to have more than a glance at your application.

1. Can I apply for another course at Teeside, this time Msc in the same program I had B.Tech?

Yes you can. Receiving an offer of a place on a programme is significantly about demonstrating how you meet the specified entry requirements for the programme of interest.

Going forward, is it legal to apply to two different programs for the same school i.e 2 different applications and see which one succeeds

So it is not about being legal and the objective should not be to gamble because ultimately your chances of getting an offer does not improve because you have put in 2 applications. You can put in applications for different programmes in the same school if you can demonstrate that you meet the specified entry requirements for the different programmes.

Demonstrating that you meet the specified requirements for the different programmes means that each application must be distinct i.e tailored personal statement, tailored CV and maybe different references as well and additional relevant qualifications as required by each programme. 2 applications for different programmes in the same school seems to be a reasonable number. when they are more and in areas that are radically different from each other then it becomes more about the perception it gives to the issions team of a lack of research and focus on your part.

Additionally are you updating your initial pitch, repositioning yourself or telling your story differently? if not, i do not see value in doing the exact same thing and expecting a different result.
