Broken-hearted Mr. Muraino Kabiru, husband of Mrs. Hadijat Kabiru (45), who along with her lover allegedly planned her abduction, said he was yet to get over the shock of his wife’s action. Hadijat and her lover, Luqmon Ahmed, reportedly planned the woman’s abduction to collect N15 million from Muraino because he was ‘stingy’. Speaking with our correspondent, Muraino said: “My wife and I had been married for over 27 years and we have four children together. I never knew that she was the one doing all this to me.” Muraino explained that he believed that the trouble started after Hadijat pestered him to open a shop for her, to operate a business. He added: “I gave her N300,000. My son also ed with N150,000 so that she could start the business. Later, my wife came again, demanding that I should give money to start another business. But I told her that I wouldn’t because she wasn’t managing the business well. I told her to go and continue with her tailoring work. My daughter misbehaves at times and so, my wife told me that she wanted to take her to the hospital. I usually give her the money whenever they are going to the hospital and when she return, she wouldn’t show me receipts even if I asked.” According to him, on that fateful that the fake abduction occurred, it was perceived that the sick daughter needed some drugs, Muraino decided to go and get the drugs himself. But Hadijat told him that she had rather take the girl to the hospital. He said: “I gave her some money. It is not up to an hour that they left; then my phone rang. The number was that of my wife. I picked the call, but to my shock, it was the voice of a man. I asked him who he was; he told me that my wife had been kidnapped. He said that he would get to know him later. I asked him what he wanted, the guy replied that N15 million as ransom. I told him that I didn’t have that kind of money. I pleaded with him and told him that I could only afford N500,000. But he refused the offer. “He told me that he could only go as low as N7 million. I started begging him again. When he didn’t agree, I had to notify the police about the abduction. The police asked me to play along, pretending that I was about to pay the ransom. Police said that my playing along will help them to catch the kidnappers. When a call came again, it was my wife that was on the line. She told me to ensure I pay the ransom. I told her that I didn’t have such an amount of money. Someone snatched the phone from my wife and said that they were ready to collect N1.5 million. It was from this point that the police got full information about them. They were caught and much to my shock, my wife was among them.” |

The World football governing body, FIFA, has again reiterated that it only recognises the Amaju Pinnick-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). FIFA in a correspondence with NFF and CAF said it will maintain dealings with the Pinnick-led NFF board despite a Supreme Court ruling which the Chris Giwa-led faction had interpreted as allowing them to take over the istration of football in Nigeria. FIFA scribe, Fatma Samoura, in a reply to a mail dated May 2 by Patrick Ikwueto explained that at the outset, the Zurich-based organisation would like to stress that Mr Ikwueto’s clients (Chris Giwa faction) have already filed different appeals in relation to the elections of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) of 26 August 2014 at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. It stated the appeals were either terminated and removed from the CAS roll for procedural reasons or dismissed by the CAS in its arbitral award of 18 May 2015. FIFA said it therefore recognises the NFF executive committee under President Amaju Melvin Pinnick which was duly elected on September 30, 2014. FIFA added it had taken note of the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria dated April 27 which ruled that the relevant matter is to be “remitted to the trial High Court for expeditious hearing and determination on the merit.” In this respect, it reminds the applicant that recourse to ordinary court of law is prohibited as stated in article 59 paragraphs 2 and 3 of FIFA’s status. Lastly, the letter revealed that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided that the January 10, 2017 five-year ban from taking part in any kind of football-related activity imposed by the NFF’s disciplinary committee on May 12, 2016 against Christopher Giwa, Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong should have worldwide effect. In conclusion, the letter stated: “We kindly draw your attention to the fact that this information is only of a general nature and, therefore, without prejudice to any decision that FIFA may be called to in this or similar matters in future.” The Giwa, Pinnick leadership tussle ranks high as one of the longest protracted cases in football in Nigeria. Both Giwa and Pinnick were ‘elected’ in separate elections in 2014. While Giwa emerged from an election on August 26, 2014, where he defeated former NFF VP, Mike Umeh, Pinnick was elected a month later in another election spear-headed by the then outgoing Aminu Maigari-board in Warri. Since then, many meetings have been done to bring the two warring parties to a roundtable discussion to have the issue thrashed out completely but all have met brick-wall with both sides raising accusing fingers and unable to reach a compromise. Interestingly, Pinnick has already served out his term in office as fresh NFF election is due in few weeks time. |

Hi guys...in a dream I was walking heading up to a destination. Then I encountered muddy water along the way & lost one of my shoes (the shoe on my right leg). I looked for it in the muddy water but couldn't find it. Instead I saw other types of shoes in the muddy water but they didn't fit me. I now saw one shoe amongst this lot of shoes that fits my size very well when I put it on...only that it was a bit dented by the side of the shoe. I now said to myself that at least I will be able to continue my journey with this little dented shoe I found. What does this dream mean? Thanks.

The guy just condemned his career for a paltry 100k. Just google his name on the net and what pops up is this fraudulent incident. No company or employer of labour will even employ him because most companies run a check on their prospective employees on the internet to know if they've ever been involved in fraudulent or criminal acts. This act has rendered him unemployable.

Singer and music producer, Ikwan Onwuka aka Iyke Onka is angry. He is also terribly disappointed; and right now, he’s at the edge of depression. Nine years after the gospel artiste inked a recording deal with Loveworld Records, he is yet to get a dime as royalties. In a recent chat with TS Weekend, Onka, an indigene of Abia State, described his experience at the hands of Loveworld Records, an affiliation of Believers Loveworld aka Christ Embassy, as harrowing, disgusting and tragic. “It is tragic that after nine years of inking a contract with Loveworld Records, I am yet to get a dime in royalties even though they exploited my works. I have done everything humanly possible to engage the record label but they have totally ignored me. I am now heartbroken and that is why I have run to the press,” he lamented. Once upon a dream Onka must have been a very happy man when in 2009 officials of Loveword Records approached him for a recording deal. Recalling that meeting, he said: “I entered into the contract with Loveworld Records Limited on a purely business level. My first album did pretty well and I was aiming at improving on that performance in my second album. I spent my time, talent, skill and financial resources in producing the musical works only for Loveworld Records and its handlers to rob me of the fruits of my labour. “As a full-time musician, I was subjected to immense financial difficulty due to the fraudulent behaviour of Loveworld Records. The adverse effects of this huge and unexpected disappointment spilled into other aspects of my life, but I would rather not narrate here what I had to put up with.” Genesis Narrating how it all began, Onka said sometime in the third quarter of 2009, while finalising the production of his sophomore album, the Chief Operating officer of Loveworld Records Limited, Mr Ehi Moses had approached him to consider g up with the label. “I gave it a good thought, weighing the cons of g with a relatively young record label against the pros of the label’s potential in the industry. I also considered the fact that the company held affiliation with Believers Loveworld aka Christ Embassy, the church I was fellowshipping with at that time. Directors of Loveworld Records Limited, who happened to be senior pastors and well-placed of Christ Embassy Church, also fostered a level of confidence in my dealings with Loveworld Records. So, I assented to the initial proposal of the Chief Operating Officer of Loveworld Records Limited, Mr Ehi Moses,” he explained. A few days later, Onka’s joy knew no bound as he received a draft of the contract agreement from Loveworld Records for his perusal. He went back and forth on the , had a couple of meetings and in October 2009, both parties finally reached a deal. And precisely on October 10, 2009, a recording contract was signed between Onka and Loveworld Records Limited. Onka further revealed that Loveworld Records Limited was represented at the recording contract agreement as an “organization that specializes in the management, production, recording, distribution, promotion, marketing, and representation of musical artists”. According to the musician, the directors of Loveworld Records Limited listed in the contract were Evangelist Kathy Oyakhilome, Pastor Tom Obiaze, Pastor Linda Okocha, Pastor Ose Oyakhilome, Pastor Mary Owase, Pastor Sola Olubode and Deacon Emeka Anene while the signatories for Loveworld Records Limited were Mr Ehi Moses, Chief Operating Officer and company secretary, A. A. Sogunle & Associates. “I was so excited especially because of the caliber of people involved and its affiliations with Christ Embassy. I could see my dreams coming true,” Onka enthused. The way the cookie crumbles However, events took a tragic turn after Onka signed the contract. Hear him: “I began to notice signs of fraud a few weeks after g the contract when Loveworld Records defaulted in paying the agreed sign-on fee of N2.5 million, which also covered my cost of producing the musical works included in the contract. “I played down on the signs with the thought that I was dealing with an organisation owned and ran by good Christians whom I believed wouldn’t stoop so low to certain levels of business impropriety and dubiousness. I handed over the master tape of my second album titled ‘Fly High’ to Loveworld Records Limited after g the contract and was expecting to receive the sign-on fee according to the of our contract. Surprisingly, Loveworld Records never paid but rather began exploiting and monetising my works. All I got were excuses, endless promises and lies. Meanwhile, my musical works were clearly being exploited and sold even beyond the regions agreed in our contract.” Contract breached Onka said aside the sign-on fee of N2.5 million, Loveworld Records was supposed to take 70 per cent of royalty on sales of his works and remit the remaining 30 per cent to him. However, they transacted and made profits from the musical works but never made any royalty payments to the musician. “Loveworld Records shamelessly reaped 100 per cent of my royalties without paying a dime to me. They impudently breached our contract and displayed unacceptable levels of irresponsibility with regards to the agreement,” he stated. Onka says that thrice, during the tenure of the contract and after, he instructed his solicitors to write Loveworld Records and request for his overdue sign-on fee and all accrued royalties. He also requested access to the company’s books and sales records. The letters were dated July 29, 2010, November 9, 2011 and March 2, 2012 but Loveworld Records treated all with levity. “As at the time our contract expired, Loveworld Records Limited refused to pay both sign-on fee and accrued royalties. I was also kept out of the books of our deal. They arrogantly refused to take part in any arbitration as provided for in our contract and also made attempts to frustrate any legal action resulting from their breach. They went as far as claiming that Loveworld Records Limited no longer existed, contrary to the records of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and in clear contravention of Section 548 of the Companies & Allied Matters Act,” the artiste said. Justice at last but… Obviously frustrated, Onka resorted to the courts as the last arbiter. Precisely in June 2012, he filed a suit No. ID: 614/2012 at the High Court of Lagos State against Loveworld Records Limited as the first defendant, HNM Limited as the second defendant and Quartz Digital Limited as the third defendant. Though, it took four years for the court to reach a decision, justice finally came his way. He said: “The High Court of Lagos State sitting before Hon. Justice O. A. Williams delivered judgment in my favour on the 16th of May 2016. The judge granted my plea and awarded claims to the sum of N55.8 million with 15% annual interest against Loveworld Records Limited. But since the judgment was delivered, Loveworld Records Limited has refused to take responsibility of its liability and judgment indebtedness.” But why did it take him so long to cry out to the public? His response: “It took me this long because I believed, against all contrary evidence, that the handlers of Loveworld Records were reasonable and civilized people. I was totally wrong as it turned out that they were out to defraud me. I had initially resolved to handle this matter privately to avoid the usual public drama but I am now forced to go public with it. I also believe these fellows, not being able to sweep the matter under their huge carpet, could go to any length to silence me. Of course, I am not afraid of what they might possibly scheme against me. I just want the public to be aware of this evil and unjust exploitation.” Mum from Loveworld When TS Weekend called Evangelist Kathy Oyakhilome, a principal dircector of Love World Records for their own side of the story, mum’s the word. All phone calls and text messages sent to her were ignored and not responded to. |

Introduction The topic about tithes and tithing has generated so many controversies of late, I am inspired to state my own side of the story. The Bible is the standard to we Christians, no man-made doctrine can counter the Bible. Any thought or teaching that is out of scripture, is out of relevance irrespective of who says it. For the sake of records, the church of Christ of which Jesus is the Head is not under attack, what has come under attack is the Church of Men, which is what men have calved out of the church of Christ. Presentation Here are highlights of the reasons for the renewed onslaught. I. You taught them that they should tithe, as long as they tithe, their jobs and businesses are covered. A recession came, and they were believing that, “tithes” could save them, but it never did. Some of them lost their jobs, and can’t even run to the “altar” where they “cast their seed” for a bag of rice. II. You taught them to buy your “anointing oil”, water, stickers, ribbons, that no illness can near their dwelling place. But they lose loved ones with your stickers on their car, your anointing oil in the house. III. You taught them if they submit to you, the auction to perform all wonders would flow to them, they submit to you more than they submit to the Holy Spirit and you were happy. But their marriage still crashed, the recession came and affected them, they lost elections and you want them to be happy? If I should name them, they are many. These are part of the reasons for what appear as “onslaught” on the Church. 3. MY VIEWS ON TITHING. No material thing, can take the place or be compared with the precious Blood of Jesus, including tithes. You would go to heaven even without your tithes. The Church of Men are the ones panicking, the Church of Christ is marching on. We have not preached the love of Christ enough, “prosperity” has taken over the place of Jesus – the focal point of Christianity. Prosperity is a byproduct of what Christ has done for us. What is happening today is the failure of doctrine of prosperity extremism. Doctrines would come and go, but the Word and Church of Christ would stand till He returns. If we recognize Jesus and His Love, we won’t be giving and grumbling. The tithe thing has been bastardized and what we are seeing as “onslaughts” today are products of men’s doctrinal failures. Tithing is a function of Honour, and not a perquisite for being saved as tithes merchants would want you to believe. No man should force you to pay tithes, no man if whatever title should manipulate you to pay tithes on his altar. It is ideal to Honour God on the same altar you are constantly nourished spiritually. In the new testament (2 Corinthians 2:9) “who sow sparingly would reap sparingly, he who sow generously would reap generously”. This is a new testament teaching, God can never give you what you are not scripturally qualified for. You give, you get higher measures, it is in the scripture. You don’t give, you are still saved, but may not access that higher measure. Although, some school of thoughts believe that tithe is an old testament law, of which Jesus has come to abolish, of which I subscribe in, giving to the work of Jesus is a necessity for every Christian. If you love Jesus, you would give to his work, a true test of love is giving. Just give it as you are led. If tithes makes one rich, how come we have multi billionaires today who don’t believe in it? The Church of Christ is never attacked, She has survived attacks for 2000 years and still marching on. It is the Church of men that is under attack, and some men are “trying to protect the church”. 4. THE MANDATE. If the way the men of the Church of Men are taking this tithe thing seriously, they had taken the Great Commission Jesus mandated the Church, the Church would have evangelized the north and breaking into Niger Republic by now. The church in Nigeria has lost touch with the Great Commission, Jesus didn’t say go ye into the world and COLLECT TITHES, but ‘go ye into the world (unreached people) and preach the gospel”. The Church of Christ is not a remittance centre where taxes are collected on heaven’s behalf. The souls of men in the world should be our hunger as Christians, how do we get men to confess the Lordship of Christ, how do we spread the love of Christ to humanity? These should be our core mandate. Jesus would not reward you on how big and beautiful your church buildings are. He would reward you on how sincere you were with the GREAT COMMISSION with regards to the resources he brought at your disposal. Don’t fight for the Church of Christ, you can’t fight for the One that keeps you alive. But the Church of Men would need men to fight for them. They need men to defend them. Conclusion THE CHURCH OF MEN IS WHAT IS UNDER ATTACK AND NOT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST. …Enenche Enenche Abuja, Nigeria. |

That you've not come across such instances doesn't mean it doesn't happen. A pastor who used to live with us in the 1980's in Lagos got married to a single mum. |

humilitypays:And I gave you instances of single mums or widows I know personally that got married or remarried. And for your information those ladies were normal ladies (not rich ladies). You better change this your warped mindset about single mums & remarriage. In Delta State where I'm from single mum dey marry well...unless the lady has a bad character or is unproductive. |

humilitypays:What you just posted is trash. Imagine a young lady gets married, has kids & loses her husband to death. Now would you now say because she has kids, she's ineligible for marriage again or men wouldn't like to marry her? I've seen men marry such ladies without any qualms whatsoever. In fact one of such men was even a pastor that married a single mum. My then neighbor married a single mum who had a daughter. The lady's daughter even lives with them. |
