This platform is good to share info na. I really don't see a need for a WhatsApp group. Let's just drop meaningful comments here. Now, we are asking for the nature of questions. If there had been a similar thread on this before, it would have been easier. Let us make it easier for ourselves and others please. There was a reason we all came here in the first place. We know that we would find useful info here. Just my thoughts though. I could be wrong 9 Likes |

Really, it doesn't make sense. This forum has come through for me many times as the experiences of others stick on this site and serve as basis for direction. The WhatsApp group being created will house information that future generations would not have access to. So sad. So selfish BrizzyA: 2 Likes 1 Share |

yusman14: Mathematics is indeed quite interesting and useful. The problem only is we are not taught the application. If you are able to find on why, you of a certainty will excel in Mathematics. 1 Like |

Diano154715: I am a graduate of Mathematics from the University of Benin with a cgpa of 4.2/5. A masters student of Petroleum Geophysics. I never applied for mathematics. It never crossed my mind but the University offered me and I accepted it. Till date, I never regretted that decision. By now you must have come across real analysis, dynamics of a rigid body, mathematical methods and algebra. They are all crazy I must tell you. Whatever I tell you now is based on experience. Mathematics us interesting if you know it's application. First things first, you need to research the usefulness of Mathematics in any field that interests you. For me it was the oil and gas hence I loved fluid dynamics where I eventually wrote my project in. During my masters program, I still taught some Petroleum Engineering masters students some algebra especially on the topic *field* and *vector space*. Let me explain, mathematical equations are built to represent systems and these systems cannot work in every case. So that when a field is defined, we test for the generality of the system using the defined field. You probably have come across eigenvalues and eigenvectors, they are used to ascertain the stability of systems represented by equations. Also in the oil and gas sector during Exploration, Seismic signals need to be processed and interpreted before a well can be drilled. Fourier transform and convolutional models become required. This is mathematics being applied. So, before you give up, you should see how mathematics fit into your big picture. Let's go back to coordinate geometry you learnt in probably SS2, do you know it is applied in the oil and gas sector? Do you really that every time you click a button on your devices serious mathematics is being done? Bottom line look for why study mathematics and you will find inspiration. If you don't and your course adviser isn't allowing you transfer, speak to your financiers and tell them the truth about your situation and get another jamb form. When you eventually get a job, there are some things that you can do and the things you should do. Discipline is the thin line between these two. There probably Is a lot of things that you can do but often time what you should do is what your employer requires of you. Violation of this may put you on your employers bad book. If your can ability is remarkable, you won't have much trouble with what you should do because you have prepared your self. Promotion will come based on doing what you should do than what you can do. What you can do keeps you in your comfort zone but what you should do allows you go the extra miles; it makes you think and rack ya brain. To a diligent man, what you should do as required by your employer will prompt the best out of you. I know majority of us wants to be our own boss and create jobs but to be a boss, you must first learn to serve. |

I percieve discipline to be a conviction which resides in our subconscious and guides every decision that we make. we must have come across the analogy in which the letters that formed the word discipline summed up to 100. Now, this analogy works if we spell discipline correctly ; if it is otherwise spelt as DISIPLIN, though it will sound like the correct spelling, it won't sum up to hundred. the lesson is simple, the more your conviction, the more accurate your spelling of Discipline. Off time, attaining the 100% mark can be herculean if possible, but then if you are gonna give a 50% effort to any cause, make sure that you give it a 100% attention. I recall the words of my mentor Dr. Dan Okoughae " I am not expecting a 100% from you, if you are gonna give a 50%, make sure you give us a 100% of 50%". in any career that one decides to venture into, make sure you are convicted of it. you should also note that the prerequisite for a career is a Job. first you get the job and next you decide if you want to make a career out of the job. 1 Like |

Nigeria has never been one. if we were one, there wouldn't have been a need for amalgamation in 1914. let's go our separate ways if true federalism can't be practiced |
