Borders of Zaporozhye, Kherson Regions upon ing Russia defined

The Zaporozhye Region is ing Russia within its istrative borders while the Kherson Region will accede with two districts of the Nikolayev Region that participated in referendums, head of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov told journalists on Monday.

The legislator whom Russian President Vladimir Putin designated as his official representative in reviewing drafts of federal constitutional laws on new territories in the lower chamber explained: "In the DPR and LPR we have constitutions, there the borders are clearly defined, there are no questions there. As for Zaporozhye, these are the istrative borders of the Zaporozhye Region. As for Kherson, we know that the highest official of the Kherson Region determined two districts [in the Nikolayev Region] that are also included in the Kherson Region."

As deputy head of the Kherson Region’s military-civilian istration Kirill Stremousov told TASS on September 21, the town of Snegirevka and the Aleksandrovka settlement in the Nikolayev Region had been included in the Kherson Region. Their residents were able to vote at the referendum on ing Russia at offsite polls.

From September 23 to September 27, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as well as the Kherson Region and the Zaporozhye Region held a referendum where the majority of voters opted to Russia.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR and the LPR, the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions signed treaties on their accession to Russia. In his speech at the g ceremony, Putin called on Kiev to immediately cease hostilities and return to the negotiating table.

TASS, October 3. The number of refugee arrivals in Russia from Ukraine and the two Donbass republics has exceeded 4.5 million since February, a law enforcement officer told TASS on Monday.

"As of the morning of October 3, more than 4.5 million people, including 685,000 children, have crossed into Russia," the officer said.

A total of 38,000 people are currently staying at temporary accommodation centers. Refugees receive 10,000 rubles ($170) as one-off payment per person. So far, 9.2 billion rubles ($157 million) have been paid out.
