There is a difference between being usefully analytical, and just cooking up nonsense for likes. Outscore is a myth. It's no-nuance, goal post-moving nonsense that has no consistent bearing in real life. As a matter of fact, it relies on goal-post movement to have any modicum of realism.

You cannot outscore anyone without having first outdefended them. NO DEBATE!

i doubt cech counts as a top CB but I understand your point but you are neglecting that neto and madueke may have a better season next season, sancho even if he stays would be sub at best and there is estevao. Giving us a haaland, even an Isak and we would be going into games with more confidence and getting more results.

You are mentioning Enzo Fernandez as if he is the only midfielder in Chelsea you didn't see lavia who went missing either one game or via injuries or Caicedo whose mistakes caused us to conceed.

I can't possibly summarise everything that weakens us as a team, so I mentioned the crucial points.

Before we can even be serious about competing. We need 2 world class CBs, not one. Think Saliba, Van Dijk level CBs. Competing in the PL and the CL at the same time is no joke.

Enzo is not the only midfielder we have but he makes us incredibly, technically and tactically unbalanced in the middle. Also, politically, because we spent 100m on him, coach after coach has a political mandate to protect the asset in the club's interest. Whereas many he needed dropping, it didn't happen. We could have bought Guimares and McAllister combined for less, and still have change to buy Guiu.

We need to proceed as though Lavia will continue to have fittness issues. A Caicedo, Essugo and Santos middle 3 is strong and combative defensively, but lacks dynamism, and experience offensively.


Madueke, Sancho, and Neto forward line is unproductively weak, offensively. Few goals, few assists. Whilst I don't mind keeping them for fixture load, they cannot be our first choices going into the season. If they are, we should concentrate on the league and forget competing in the UCL.

If we get Halaand, Prime Cech, and we go into the season with Sancho, Neto, Madueke, Enzo F and our current defence line, we will get bundled out as quickly as we got in.

We are going into the UCL next season to allow us keep crucial players, attract better players, and increase revenue. We are not there to compete.
