Are Nigerians aware that an increase in VAT would introduce another round of price hikes? Services like calls, sms, data and electricity bills are subject to VAT and would further increase in price after this tax bill es.

Nigerians are a special breed of dense. Despite all the glaring failures, they trust a government that has only made their lives worse to help them with tax reform.

Why are you not adding the part of the bill that would increase VAT by hundred percent, from 7.5percent to 15percent? Why are you not adding the part that would require all Nigerians have a Tax ID to operate even a savings , which means government can monitor and garnish inflows they deem taxable, even if those savings inflows are proceeds of non-profit activities? What kind of demonic cruelty is this? Nigerians are crying for relief but you want to increase their tax burden. It is sad the only people voicing concerns about this draconian bill are from the north. 12 Likes 4 Shares |

The one area I agree with this article is that we don't have original thinkers in the leadership class in Nigeria. Tinubu, Atiku and Obi were all parroting cut-and-paste IMF policies during their campaigns.

You need to understand that Pastors who request January Salary from Church are like high maintenance girlfriends that don't know how to manage resources. They get away with such brazen exploitation because they never give of how church funds are managed to the congregation. Telling people to donate their January salary to a church that would not come to their aid if the enter into financial problems is wicked and evil. I know someone that emptied his bank to 'provoke angelic intervention '. When sapa took over his life, the pastor blamed him for not having enough faith instead of simply returning his money. Pastors that ask for January Salary are evil and should be avoided. 27 Likes 5 Shares |

Why would you purchase Starlink from someone that is not an accredited Reseller? Even ordering directly from Starlink website would have been a better option because you would receive the equipment within 3 weeks.

Nigerians can be funny sha. You leave your elected representatives who you pay taxes to but they are making your lives a living hell, to go and disturb a private citizen to tell him how to run his organization.

Very correct. Coastal states like lagos have no business connecting to a national grid that is already overstretched. Modern Windmill Farms in Badagry and Eleko can power the whole state effectively.

Replies you see here really shows the poor state of Nigeria's education system. Having influencial people like Priests, Top Politicians and Senior Citizens write to a trial judge to appeal for lighter sentencing is part of the judicial process. All these would be put into consideration by the judge before sentencing. Obasanjo has done nothing wrong. |

To to fair, from a purely mathematical perspective, Obi is ahead because he is sweeping the votes in his stronghold. Others are sharing votes on their local turfs.

I hope Obi would not forget the youths when he becomes President. They are the engine room behind his success.

Unreliable internet has always been an issue for me in Lagos. The best Internet Service Providers use Fibre Optics but have very limited coverage areas. So when I heard Starlink would be rolling out their Low Orbit internet service in Africa, It Immediately piqued my Interest. I made a preorder for the service in May of 2021 with a refundable deposit of $99. I did this due to the projected rollout of the service by the end of 2021. I did not get any update from Starlink until early december of 2022. I was told to pay up a balance of $501 so my exquipment would be shipped. 8 days after making full payment, my Starlink Equipment was delivered to me by DHL. It is a plug and play device that is easy to install by following very simple steps on the manual. I mounted the dish on my compound, at a postion with good sky visibility and the device connected to an available Satellite within a few minutes. My Internet experience is now the best I have ever had it, here in Nigeria. Total cost of Equipment $600 Monthly Subscription for Unlimited Internet $43 God Bless Elon Musk God Bless SpaceX/Starlink God Bless Nigeria https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orUl06DfAjw 80 Likes 14 Shares |

Political appointees and play acting. He does not want to tell the Nigerian public that most of our oil revenue now goes towards debt servicing. People truly get the kind of leaders they deserve.

The reason for the Naira's weakness is simple. A majority of Nigeria's Oil revenue now goes towards debt servicing so there is nothing left to defend the Naira's value against the dollar. Secondly, the current government did not treat the International Oil Companies well. So they shifted their expansion plans to other African countries where they were better treated. That is why Nigeria cannot meet it's meagre OPEC quota. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

I feel sorry for Sowore. He lacks good advisers. He should humble himself and collapse his structure to Obi, to build a political profile for himself. All this his one man army approach would get him no where. He has a chance to be part of Nigeria's biggest youth-driven political movement but he is forming saint. 150 Likes 8 Shares |

I conducted a nonscientific poll among Peter Obi ers. The question was: Who is your second choice for President after Peter Obi, based on current presidential contestants? 80 percent: Atiku 10 percent: Tinubu 10 percent: Someone Else So one can safely assume that PO would be a spoiler for Atiku and help Tinubu to be next President. 1 Like |
