An accent is a part of language pronunciations
that are standard to regions/community where they are used.
When you speak English with the accent of your own mother tongue, you are
actually mixing two languages together and that often brings about problems of miscommunication,

What you saying is relatively correct but is also old school.

I read English in school and this was actually the project I worked on, my thesis centered on the fact that there are limitations to how you can speak like a native speaker.

Because of sociolinguistic tendencies and phonological complications in our local languages, not everyone can speak  English natively.

So you talking about miscomunication and discrimination is crap to say the least.

What counts at the end is communication.

What is the point of speaking through your nose and no one is understanding you?

A White man will suffer to say Tope or Kpele in Yoruba. But he is excused for his phonological limitations.

We have chosen to become a part of the American,British, Canadian etc
society and learning the language as it is spoken there is a part of assimilation into that society. And that does not mean we are losing
our identity – it just means we are smart enough to master the language of a region in its entirety.

One thing about being a rapper is audibility.

Music is not a lecture class where I have to strain to hear what you saying.

Despite his lyrical wit, Terry needs to work on his delivery. He jumbles his words alot. He raps as if he has saliva in his mouth.

Evidence of trying to get too many words out in a short space of time, without having the vocal capacity to do it.

M.I. raps effortlessly.

You hear what he is saying and even have time to ponder and picture in your mind's eye.

Furthermore, the fact that he is a producer/sound engineer shines through in his music.

And places him light years ahead of Terry in of making music of mass appeal.

Jim's album easily comes up as one the biggest duds (NOTABLE) of 2009.

I love Biggie & Pac but sometimes i think y'all give em too much credit

You seem to forget that Reasonable Doubt was totally different from other Jay-Z album's that followed. It delved deep into Jay-Z's criminal life style and hustle. It was a sign of the Hip Hop times,

YOU cannot compare his mafioso rap on that album with ANY other album (save for American Gangster and we know he was following a theme there)

Hip Hop was what it was at that point, and it changed after the demise of Hip Hop's leading lights.

Now to to the topic Biggie & Pac are arguably the greatest MC's ever although i still think their sudden deaths did a lot to magnify their legacy like it did for Elvis and to suggest that no other rapper woulda taken their shine (Jay-Z especially) and they woulda reigned till they got tired borders on LUNACY. Even Madonna,M.J,Prince,Elvis fell off to make way for other peeps why would Biggie's case be different?

What many of yall fail to deduce from the Pac and Biggie deaths was that it changed the face of Hip Hop entirely.

Hip Hop lost the gangsta color.

And cats like DMX and Ja Rule gained prominence.

Cats started taking hip hop to that Black Eyed Peas level.

And the East turned to another saviour, Jay-Z.

Jay's closest competition was Nas, but we know as far as charisma and presence goes, Nas is as colorless as Shakira farting

Props to Jay-Z for stepping up to the plate and taking the game to another level, but he never showed any signs whatsoever of challenging Pac and Biggie when they were alive.

Jay-Z came out of his element, only when these rappers ed away.

New York ceceded the crown to Jay-Z out of love to Biggie. It was only him that showed potential after Biggie's death amongst other East Coast Rappers.

The situation WAS THRUST on him and upgraded Hip Hop.

BUT,

With Biggie and Pac alive, would the game  have changed?

Maybe some other thug non-Jay-Z rappers would have taken over?

Maybe Jay-Z would still be doing  Reasonable Doubt type albums?
