9. No employment in Rivers State civil service and most importantly, education and health sector, teachers retires every month and no replacement, leaving public schools in the state with less man power, some don't have up to two teachers at present.

10. Stopped the provision of school uniform, books, bags, shoes, etc to primary schools in the state initiated by his predecessor.

11. Not concerned with free education he met, making public schools to function by proxy, pupils and students are made to pay because the schools can't run without fund.

12. For close to 7 years in his istration, no promotion of civil servants, withheld the payment of gratuity to retirees, most pensioners are living in pains and despair.

It's a sensible request. It's just arguable if the request is not coming too late. They were threatening to cripple Nigeria by destroying the oil companies but we all know that they need the oil coys more than other Nigerians do. They were just grandstanding then as if they really have alternative to a mutual relationship between them and the coys.

I have lived in one of the communities and pleasantly surprised that they have electricity and free healthcare provided by Shell but don't pay for it. Some communities actually benefit a lot from the oil coys,even scholarship most other Nigerians don t have access to but they allowed the politicians and vicious state actors come between them and their oil coys hosted in their communities.
Oil coys have been divesting for years now including Shell that divested from that my host community and these divestments are yet to abate. Now when my former host community experience criminal pipeline sabotage, the new Nigerian owners leave it to flow and flood everywhere for weeks instead of paying anyone the moment they stop them from fixing the pipes unlike then that Shell will be begging them and bringing in Soldiers to fix the oil pipeline sabotaged by some of these same saboteurs called militants like bandits killing folks now in Zamfara.

They have this false impressions that it's the job of oil coys to banish poverty and sustain their cultural polygamy system were the mothers still do most of the heavy lifting in the absence of men who leave a nomadic lifestyle.

Unfortunately for them, FG is gradually shifting to non oil exports especially from mining and more effective tax collection strategies.

I totally agree with you. I'm from Bonny Island, We are one of the fortunate people to enjoy everything you mentioned. We still enjoy steady power supply unlike other Nigerians. Unfortunately, I don't see things remaining the same few years from now. The world is changing and Nigeria must change with it. Nigeria can actually survive without oil or anyother natural resources. Japan, South Korea, and many other countries did it. All we need is a very smart president and few sensible governors. But right now, I don't think there's any state in that country that's really trying, including Lagos State.
