Nigeria have beaten the deadline set by FIFA to vacate the court case instituted by Chris Giwa, after the factional President withdrew the case on Thursday afternoon. The world football governing body warned Nigeria that if the case isn't vacated by Friday, Nigeria would be banned from all football activities. Today at the High Court sitting in Jos, the case was called to be heard but Giwa stood up to inform the court he no longer wished to continue the case. That lead to the judge striking out the case and saving Nigeria from FIFA's hammer. Factional president of the NFF ,Chris Giwa, was persuaded upon by President Goodluck Jonathan during a meeting with the other NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, on Tuesday night to withdraw the court case. SL10.ng gathered that Giwa might be compensated by the Amaju Pinnick led-board, what is yet to be known is how much he will be compensated.http://www.sl10.ng/news/articles/categories/nigeria-1/nigeria-escapes-lengthy-ban-from-fifa/190594

Indications have emerged that Stephen Keshi will return as the head coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles, supersport.com can report. Supersport.com learned from an inside source at the NFF on Thursday morning that Nigeria president Goodluck Jonathan has ordered that the former Nigerian international be reinstated as the head coach of the African champions. The source added that the president had an emergency meeting with troubled NFF president Amaju Pinnick on Wednesday night and advised that Keshi should return as the national team gaffer. “I can confirm to you that Stephen Keshi will return as the head coach of the Super Eagles because of the presidential intervention. “The president (Jonathan) met with all football stakeholders last night and he told them that Keshi must return as the Super Eagles coach with immediate effect," the source revealed to supersport.com Supersport.com also asked the source what the fate would be of Shuaibu Amodu who replaced Keshi as the Super Eagles handler. “It has been concluded that Shuaibu Amodu would step down, and Stephen Keshi will continue as the head coach,” the source added. Nigeria will face Congo and South Africa next month, and the Eagles must win the two encounters to have the chance of making it to the 2015 Afcon.http://mobi.supersport.com/football/super-eagles/news/141030/Keshi_to_return_as_Eagles_coach |

Nigeria Super Falcons have qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup after they dumped South Africa 2-1 in Wednesday’s AWC semi-final in Namibia. The top three teams from this tournament will represent Africa at next year’s Women’s World Cup in Canada. Nigeria will now await the winners of the other semi-final between Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire to determine Africa’s best women’s team for 2014. It was a sweet revenge for the Falcons, who fell 1-0 at the same stage of the competition two years ago in Equatorial Guinea. Asisat Oshoala grabbed a first- half brace in the 38thand 45thminutes to give Nigeria the lead. The MVP of the recent FIFA U20 World Cup in Canada has now scored three goals at this AWC. However, Jane van Wyk pulled a goal back for Banyana Banyana in the 68thminute to keep this encounter on the edge till the final whistle.http://africanfootball.com/mobi//news/470957/Falcons-book-World-Cup-ticket

Nigeria is currently not interested in hosting next year's Africa Cup of Nations according to a source at the presidency. His reaction came after statements credited to Vice Chairman of the NFF Seyi Akinwumi stating Nigeria's interest to host AFCON 2015 in the eventuality Morocco fail to do so. "There is no chance of it happening for now as we are going to have the general elections around same time as the tournament," the source said. "Yes we are Ebola free but security wise it's not ideal to host the cup of nations in same months as our general elections." Morocco, hosts of next year's Africa soccer fiesta, have sort for it to be postponed from it's scheduled date to later in the year due to the Ebola virus currently ravaging West Africa. CAF in the interim have turned down their request and according to reports South Africa and Ghana have been approached by the soccer body.http://www.sl10.ng/news/articles/categories/german-bundesliga/nigeria-not-interested-in-hosting-2015-afcon/180277

AfricanFootball.com can again exclusively report today that former Dutch super star Ruud Gullit has rejected a chance to coach Nigeria because of the Ebola disease and fears he could be kidnapped in the country. Several top sources have confirmed this to AfricanFootball.com since we first broke the news that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have mandated a in Holland to sound out the former Chelsea coach. Nigeria plan to hire a foreign coach immediately after the country’s two 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa next month, which will be handled by caretaker coach Shuaibu Amodu after Stephen Keshi was not given a new contract. But one of Gullit’s representatives first told an AfricanFootball.com source he will not be interested in taking up the job because it is “high risk”, while listing out the outbreak of Ebola and security fears in Nigeria particularly as the country is gearing up to conduct a general election next year. “Gullit is not interested in coaching Nigeria,” the source informed AfricanFootball.com soon after he had spoken to the ex-Dutch skipper’s agent. “His agent told me the job is high risk. She spoke about Ebola and fears about terrorism in Nigeria and she said for those reasons, her client will not be keen.” Yet another source confirmed these same fears and added that most top Dutch coaches who may now be approached may equally opt out because of the same reasons. “The fear of Ebola in Nigeria is still very real even though the Nigerian government has announced it has successfully tackled the disease there,” this source disclosed. “But the truth is that the World Health Organisation (WHO) is yet to certify Nigeria free of the disease. “Also, Gullit is a top personality and he told the person who spoke directly to him today (Monday) that he fears he may be kidnapped in Nigeria.” The source further added: “What is clear is that these fears may not be only limited to Gullit. Most other top Dutch coaches will also stay away because of these should they be approached for the job.” Nigeria’s most successful periods at full international levels where supervised by Dutch coaches Clemens Westerhof and Jo Bonfrere. Westerhof led Nigeria to win a second Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and qualified the country to the World Cup for the very first time that same year. His long-time assistant Bonfrere will then lead the country to win an historic Olympic gold in 1996 in Atlanta, United State of America.http://africanfootball.com/mobi/mobi.php?page=article&ID=470262

Africa Cup of Nations if Morocco pull out of staging the continent’s biggest football showpiece due to fears over the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease, according to Seyi Akinwunmi, vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation. While the north African country is mauling over the decision whether to up the opportunity to host the tournament, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already written to a few countries including Ghana and Egypt to ask if they can host the Cup of Nations. Morocco asked CAF to postpone the tournament to a later date instead of its present January/February schedule but the governing body is not ready to. Nigeria could throw her hat in the ring to stage the tournament despite fears of the possibility of teams from Ebola-ravaged countries qualifying for the competition and bringing along their ers. Africa’s largest country was certified Ebola-free by the World Health Organisation on Monday, six weeks after the last case of the disease was reported and this could prompt renewed interest from international organizations. “I think we are interested [in hosting the Afcon],” new NFF vice president Seyi Akinwunmi toldGoalon Monday. “It is not strictly the purview of the NFF alone but we have been asked [if we can host the competition] and we have said yes, why not? “I think that the National Sports Commission or the Federal Government is looking at the possibility of hosting the tournament,” said Akinwunmi who disclosed that CAF had not yet written to Nigeria. South Africa have already turned down the opportunity to host the tournament with Safa president Danny Joordan saying: "The Afcon 2015 tournament will not be held here. That issue doesn't exist. Caf must discuss this matter with Morocco.” With the Super Eagles struggling to qualify for the 2015 tournament, hosting the competition would give them automatic qualification to defend the title they won in South Africa last year. It could also be a way for Nigeria to show its leadership role on the continent after successfully curtailing the spread of the disease, something for which it has already earned the praise of the international community.http://m.goal.com/x/en-ng/news/5302301

The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday sacked Stephen Keshi from his position and have installed a consortium of coaches led by former manager Shaibu Amoduto fill his shoes. They don’t call him the ‘Big Boss’ for nothing. Physically, he is has an intimidating presence—colossal in all ramifications. His demeanor as coach, even though many found it quite annoying, is reflective of his early days as a player and captain of Nigeria: strong-willed (or, maybe even stubborn). His firmness on issues (maybe a tad stiff-headed) endeared him to some but whichever way Nigeria fans chose to think of the 52-year-old, the fact is that he has finally been sacked—plausibly the wish of the majority. And while this might bring a measure of joy to some, his achievements with the team, in the space of time he was in charge, will forever be ed. It won’t be surprising to learn that the same attitude that others found repulsive is the exact behavior that made him loved in some quarters; Ahmed Musa and co. played their hearts out in order to secure a much-needed win in Abuja against Sudan, all for him. When he took over from Samson Siasia, who also went from grace to disgrace, the plan was to build for the future, with a very modest ambition of possibly challenging for the Africa Cup of Nations in three to four years' time, even though everyone was onboard in seeing how disted the team was at that time. But the Big Boss had other ideas. He broke all protocols and landed Nigeria her first continental title in almost 20 years within two years in the job, becoming only the second person to win the AFCON title as both player and coach; the first being Mahmoud El-Gohary of Egypt. The roof went flying and accolades began to pour in. The back-biters were left to chew their own skin, while the rumormongers ran out of tales. He led the team back to South Africa, where they won the AFCON title, and bagged the Mandela Cup in the same year…those were good times. He not only rallied the foreign-based players but also opened the doors to local-based players such as Sunday Mba, who now plies his trade in the French third tier and will eternally be grateful to the Big Boss for the exposure and platform afforded him to further his career.Keshi also delivered the World Cup ticket in stylish fashion, and then went on to match the long-standing exploits of erstwhile manager Clemens Westerhof to reach the last-16 in Brazil. However, despite his impressive CV with Nigeria, his tenure was marred with ceaseless fracas and quite unnecessary public spats with his bosses (NFF officials) and some of the players. It won’t be too far from the truth to say that perhaps Nigeria was expecting Keshi to do something he never has and never will: swallow his reservations. How do you hire a man who was known to be the leader of a small group of players who wielded strong power over the team in his playing days and then expect him to be as meek as a lamb? A lion is still a lion no matter how old it is. In the end, the man who was seen as Nigeria’s ‘messiah’, a former captain, shot himself in the foot with his unwise insistence to shut the door on public opinion, which is a dangerous thing to do in an environment such as Nigeria’s, posing to be the sole carrier of wisdom and grace, and calling the bluff on his employees and important players. It was evident that he had taken the plunge from hero to villain when the NFF president revealed that it took security officials to hold back an angry mob that laid in wait for the team in Abuja. However, the presence of the police couldn’t stop the partisan crowd from booing the former Mali coach from the stands. “We did that (the sacking of Keshi) because we saw a lot of things that had happened in the past. There were issues bordering on security, from the beginning of the game (against Sudan), we saw that a hero in Keshi was booed from the beginning of the game,” Pinnick told Channels TV programme, Sunrise.Granted, it was an unceremonious exit—maybe he should have stuck to his decision to quit the team when they won the AFCON title; leaving when the ovation is loudest is not actually a bad idea. Nevertheless, his achievements will possibly be the target(s) for the new consortium and even the new manager to be named after the qualifying round is over. There’s no doubt about it, the Big Boss will be ed, but would he be missed?

Former Super Eagles great, Taribo West has blasted the defensive pair of Kenneth Omeruo and Godfrey Oboabona, labelling their efforts in the ongoing Nations Cup qualifiers as amateurish. The former Derby County defender, once considered world class by his peers, clearly has a low opinion on the Eagles' current back line after pushing the national team's caretaker coach Shaibu Amodu to look for replacements for both centre-back and left-back positions.West, who won a gold medal in the 96' Olympic Games, claimed Nigeria had themselves to blame for their disappointing position and Omerou and Oboabona should take the majority of the blame. - The Eagles impressed me [during their 3-1 win over Sudan] but our defence was suspect and Omeruo and [Godfrey] Oboabona played like amateur defenders, Taribo told hereisthecity.com - They are good defenders but they were too relaxed and made the same mistakes over and over again. We have conceded goals in the same way in the qualifiers.- Sudan's goal in Nigeria's 3-1 win was similar to the one against us in the first leg in Kartoum. - They only did well against South Africa, though they made some mistakes. South Africa had the opportunity to execute one-on-one moves and score goals but Vincent Enyeama saved us. The two defenders didn't play like champions or professionals in other games.- I think they need competition. We need to scout for new central defenders. I would have suggested that they should be dropped but we don't have better replacements for them now. But we should work on improving their weaknesses. This is not the first time West will rail at young defenders, as he labelled Joseph Yobo and the other new faces in the Super Eagles team to the 2002 World Cup in Korea Japan as 'junk players'http://www.futaa.com/football/article/omeruo-and-oboabona-are-amateurs--taribo-west 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Factional president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chris Giwa has condemned the decision of the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board to sack Super Eagles' caretaker coach Stephen Keshi and ordered his stay. Keshi was relieved of his job as Super Eagles' coach by the Pinnick-led NFF on Thursday morning with Amodu Shuaibu named as replacement. In a communiqué made available toGoalafter its emergency meeting held at Bolingo hotel, Abuja, the Giwa-led NFF group insisted Keshi and his crew will remain in the interest of continuity and described the Pinnick-led board as illegal. "The board resolved after hearing that some people are parading themselves as the NFF board, decided to sack the technical crew of the Super Eagles at a very critical moment," the statement read. "We condemn the act and hereby state that Stephen Keshi remains the head coach of the senior national team and the technical crew remains intact. We condemn the acts of impostors parading themselves as such. "That the board stated that there are two more games to be played against Congo Republic and South Africa ahead of Nigeria’s qualification for the African Nations Cup finals in 2015 in Morocco. Emphasis is supposed to be on concentration for the two games rather than sacking and hiring of new technical managers at this critical time. Giwa also rejected the committees constituted by Amaju-led board and announced the re-appointment of Musa Amadu as the Secretary General of the NFF. "The board nullifies all committees appointed by the said illegal NFF board and has appointed Secretary General of the NFF Musa Amadu to oversee the affairs of all committees of the NFF. This shall be named in days. "Barrister Amadu is to work with secretaries of committees who are staffers of the NFF earlier set up by the Aminu Maigari board and as approved by the NFF statutes pending the end of the football season. "The secretaries are to report to Musa Amadu until new committees are set up. The board warns people who are used to disregarding valid court orders especially the one which recognised the 26th August election as valid pending the hearing of the substantive matter before it. "Nigerians have been ened to remain calm. No tension in this pensive mood. The Federal High Court Jos is very clear about the orders of his court on the 19th September 2014. In the eye of the law, no other board apart from ours exists in the eye of the law," it concluded.

Seemingly devastated Super Eagles players reportedly left the Khartoum international stadium in tears on Saturday, following their shock 1-0 loss to Sudan in a 2015 Nations Cup qualifier. The Super Eagles were expected to turn a wobbling campaign around with back-to-back victories over a Sudan side that had lost 3-0 at home to South Africa, and 2-0 away to Congo. But they folded and crashed in a performance that has been described as 'disgraceful' and 'shambolic' by fans. The Eagles had gone viral on Social media as fans complained during the game, and it became worse as reports filtered back as to state of the team. Stephen Keshi, the coach who had been a national hero just 16 months ago after winning Nigeria's third Nations Cup, looked devastated as the final whistle went. But it was some of the players who let their emotions out. - I see Efe Ambrose and Azubuike Egwueke in tears at the final whistle, Colin Udoh, tweeted. and a minute later, added - Just ed Kenneth Omeruo. He looks devastated. Red eyes. He must have been crying. |

FRIENDS!!!! Please am sorry to share this my life story with you all, It's my family secret but i have no other option but to divulg it with you all here for a better and Serious advice..... On june 2008 when i wrote my last NECO exam,(Igbo) as i was coming back From my school, ing one lonely road i heard a cry of a lady coming out From the bush, i wanted to run for my dear life but on the other thought i summoned courage and went in to check on her, getting there i saw a guy ontop of her, the girl was saying '' is this how to love someone? I thought you said you truly love me''? As i came close to them i hit the guy with my books and he ran away! I help the girl up and took her to her place and then go my way. So on August 3th while i was in school (oko poly) my PHONE rang, i looked at it, Behold it was my mums number, i picked it and she asked me to pack and come back home the next day unfailinly, so i packed and came back home, as i enter our HOUSE i saw two police men, a woman and four other elderly men with that girl i helped in the bush, i was somehow surprised because looking at her she is double (pregnant) my mum asked me if i know her and i said yes, she was mad at me and didn't Allow me to tell her how i know her! The police men served me a court paper, so on thursday as we went to the Court i was asked to take care of her and the child until she delivers. All my brothers tuned back at me and never care about my school dreams again, to avert problem from her family, Court and police i agreed to take her responsibilities! i droped out From school and carried wheelbarrow! As God may have it on march 2 2009 she gave birth to twins and unfortunately we lost the male child and was left with only the female child. I became a father by force.!!! On May 5th she ran away! We went to her parents HOUSE but she was no were to be found, her parents said they never saw her, it was to me as if my whole life has gone, but God being so kind used my lactating Niece and raise the child! Then on 15th of September this year (2014) 4 men and a lady drove into our compound with so many gift, after welcoming them, they said they are so sorry for what they did to us! We were surprised because those faces were not familiar to us, so they continued '' we are the real parents of that little lad out there'!! pointing at my sweet lovely Claribel by name, they added '' we will pay anything we ask them to pay just to have her back'' My question now is, '' Should i hand that little girl i droped out of school just to make sure she is healthy to them simply because they are her real parents after losing my DISTINCTION ? |

Super Falcons Saturday intensified their preparation for the African Women’s Championship with an emphatic 5-2 mauling of the Abuja All Star team. The Namibia-bound Falcons took the lead as early as the fourth minute, when Asisat Oshoala latched on to a through from strike partner Desire Oparanozie to chip over the head of the All Stars goalkeeper. Rampaging Oshoala made it two in the 20th minute, when she scored from a goalmouth scramble and got her hat-trick in the 23rd when she beat an off side trap to make it 3-0. The All Stars were quick of the mark in the second half and deservedly reduced the tally with a goal in the 47th minute. The veterans piled up pressure but the Falcons defended well to ward them off. sca Ordega and Ngozi Okobi increased the lead to 5-1 in the 73rd and 80th minutes respectively, before the All Stars scored from the spot to bring the final scores to 5-2.7 SUPER FALCONS VS ABUJA ALL STARS Precious Dede (Ibubeleye White 74'),Ugo Njoku,Osinachi Ohale,Josephine Chukwunonye,Ngozi Ebere (Gloria Ofeoegbu 74') ,Evelyn Nwabuoku,Cecilia Nku,Francisca Ordega (Stella Mbachu 74') ,Esther Sunday (Ngozi Okobi 74') ,Asisat Oshoala (Gloria Iroka 74') ,Desire Oparanozie (Perpetua Nkwocha 74') 1 Like |

The new video produced by Boko Haram shows beheading of a pilot from a missing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jet. Abubakar Shekau, who was said to have be killed several weeks ago, was also on the video. He said:“Here I am, alive and I will remain alive until the day Allah takes away my breath,” the man says in the Hausa language. “Even if you kill me … it will not stop us imposing Islamic rule … We are still in our Islamic state, reigning and teaching the Koran.” There seems to be the same man who claimed to be Shekau. He says that the Shariah law is the true law of their area. Then the caption shows some examples of punishments: amputation of hand of the young thief, stoning of a man accused in adultery. The video ends with an image of a burnt plane. In the video Shekau claims to have brought down 10 military aircrafts. The video also shows a man standing on his knees in a camouflage. The fighter is standing over him with an axe. Later the captured officer is beheaded. The victim introduced himself a wing commander og the Nigerian Air Force. He says he was undertaking a mission in Kauri area, Northeastern part of Borno State on September 11, 2014. “We were shot down and our aircraft crashed,”he says.“To this day I don’t know the whereabouts of my second pilot.” The United States still give a $7 million prize on Shekau’s head, despite the death claims.
