This just popped up on my laptop screen today and it says that windows 7 will end by 2020, which means windows 7 and windows XP will be placed in the same state of "Use at your own risk" status.

I know we have windows 10 to switch to but it is still a heavy Operating system for basic computing functions.

Microsoft says they made a commitment to provide 10 years of for Windows 7 since its release in October 22, 2009. Discontinuation of Windows 7 is imminent cause they will have to focus on ing newer technologies.

The End of for Windows 7 will be January 14, 2020. Protection via technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update will no longer be available.
