It is only an amateur that will depend on DTC code for definite and final diagnosis result. Not every issue will be ed as DTC code ,lot of underground issue that will required only a professional to dig out.

Don't waste your money on catalyst. It is too expensive for to be gambled with .The primary function and main purpose of a catalyst is Emission control (conversion of harmful gases to less toxic) other reason is secondary .Get an expert in diagnosis to check for you the reason your car suffer poor fuel mileage ,it is more than catalyst.
If you are in Lagos ,call my number in my signature ,I will give u a 100% accurate diagnosis.

guys i need your help with my toyota camry. it consumes fuel at a very high rate. scanned it once result i got was P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) . my mechanic then suggested dt d catalytic converter was missing and that's the cause of the problem.
so guys pls who can help me get OEM catalytic converter and what's the cost?

Your brakes may be binding or one of the wheels isn't spinning freely. You may need to jack up each wheel to be sure.

Your fuel consumption will be higher if wheels do not spin freely.

It depends on some factors, but the cardinal factor is your torque converter. If you have a high stall speed TC installed, it will need some gas to move. Has it always been like that?

yes sir. since it was bought as toks early this year. tho d gear changes perfectly/normally wen driven. thats why it wanted to ask if it was normal, cuz i noticed d other 2001 camry @least moves wen d gear is changed either to reverse or Drive.

guys pls I need clarification on my transmission. whenever i put the car in Reverse or Drive... i usually expect the car to move slightly.but my matrix doesnt until power is applied on the pedal. pls what I want to know is this, is it normal?
