The camera flagship device from TECNO has been launched some weeks ago but the device still remains the talk of the town. This is because the phone features amazing camera hardware and others great features that will interest and blow your mind away. The major focus of Tecno Camon C9 is camera but here we will be reviewing some others features on the device.

13MP front and back camera

This is the first time TECNO will be gunning for a 13MP camera on both the front and the back her device. If you could recall, the first series of camon devices; Camon C5 and C8 do not have the same camera specs at both front and back so Camon C9 has definitely raised the bar higher and it’s a worthy successor to Camon C8.

The rear camera is integrated with a 6P optical lens, f/2.0 aperture diaphragm, blue glass and dual flash. All these ensure that the pictures taken with the device are crisp and colourful.

83° Wide angle selfie 13MP front camera

The 13MP front camera has 83 wide angle range that can capture up to 10 people at a time. The camera outputs are vivid and colourful and for people that love to take selfie a lot, Camon C9 is the device you need to take that beautiful moment in your life.

The front camera is in the middle

Unlike other smartphones that have their front cameras on the side, Tecno Camon C9’s front camera is uniquely placed at the centre of the screen. This gives exceptional experience for selfie lovers as they will appear looking straight into the camera. Photos taken with the front camera also appear straight and not tilted to one direction unlike other devices in the market.

Iris scanner

This is a step in the right direction for the company to integrate a unique kind of security on the Camon C9. We are familiar with the finger print technology, it seems the iris sensor is a new kind of technology in mobile phones. The Iris scanner can up to five identities in case you want more people to have access to your device. The failure rate is 1/100000. You have to focus your eyes on the scanning object to unlock and it works just fine.

A dedicated T-Band

Tecno Camon C9 also features a T-band that works with the camera, monitor the number of steps you have taken in a day and as well serve as sleep monitor.

The T-band can also help to trace your phone if you mistakenly misplace it. All you have to do is to press the T-band down for 3 seconds and the phone will vibrate wherever it is.

Azzin Eh.
If you are not aware of reality, some people can help you distort it.

I checked out the so called Gionee P5w on GSM Arena.
Very poor opinions. Very very poor.

And here I was thinking that for your brand to be featured on GSM Arena, then it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I for one appreciate Gionee.
But as far as this W4 from Tecno is concerned...
All I can say to Gionee and Infinix warlords is, if you live in a glass house, do not throw stones.
Not on GSM arena only check the thread of P5W on nairaland people just dey regret , poor battery life takes longer time to charge and drains within 3hrs

It doesn't change the fact that Tecno manufacturers use inferior materials hence the low price. They'll never sell it cheap if they use better quality materials as compared to HTC, Samsung etc... I believe this shouldn't be a rocket science.
probably you are the one that has refused to change , Tecno is a bigger brand now compared to when they first entered the country. In as much it's a human invention , no one is perfect
Maximum83: 3:35pm On May 10, 2016
Those comparing with Gionee M5. M5 is heavier at 211g while Tecno L8 is 154g

Airtel Nigeria has unveiled "Smart Speedoo" , a new data plan which most internet-savvy Nigerians will find agreeable.
The service was unveiled at a press conference in Ikeja, Lagos state.
The telecoms firm said Smart Speedoo allows customers to experience real data while browsing at affordable tariff and enjoying free megabytes.
Interested subscribers can activate the new internet package by dialing *141# on their devices.

Vice President, Data & Digital Services at Airtel, Nitin Anand, explained how the Airtel Smart Speedoo plan works.
“When a customer uses up to 10mb at1kobo/kb, Airtel gives him 10mb free.
And when his usage gets to 50mb, the browsing rate drops to 0.5kobo/kb, then he gets 50mb free.
When the customer’s usage reaches 100mb, the rate drops further to 0.2kobo/kb and he is given 100mb free,” Anand' explained.

He further noted that this cycle continues every month, thereby giving Airtel customers the FREE SURF experience.
He said Smart Speedoo rides on the superfast 3G internet, which offers internet speed of up to 42mbps.
This speed is very close to the Long Term Evolution (LTE) speed.
“Almost 80 to 85 percent of all Airtel 3G sites in Nigeria are IP enabled so
they can give you the speed of 42mbps, this speed is similar to the speed you get on LTE network.
So, we can proudly announce that customers can
get real data experience on the Airtel 3G network, which is equal to 4G
speed,” Anand said. Airtel’s Head of Data & portals, David Umoh
added that Smart Speedoo gives pop-up notifications to show usage.

Hence s of the service do not need to USSD code to buy data or worry about their airtime being used up when browsing.
Airtel also noted that Smart Speedoo gives ‘free internet in everyone’s hand’ as it enables customers to be in control of their data usage
while also surfing at a very low rate.

It promised to continue to roll out more services to further empower Nigerians and offer the free surf experience.
it's a useless plan, we don't need it as if we data hungry to go for this slavery called airtel data plan

Maximum83: 3:23pm On May 05, 2016
Tecno Mobile Nigeria has recently released a device with the longest battery life in the country. The device Tecno L8 combines power and style. The battery is insanely huge at 5050mAh lasting up to 3 days of constant usage and the design is an all metal build body. Come with me as I review the Tecno L8

Design and display

Tecno L8 has an impressive design when compared to other Tecno’s “L” series devices. It has a full metallic body which is looking but feels a bit heavy in the hands.

There are different colours of the device which even makes it appealing and fashionable. I love the Grey Colour, it's so sturdily build and is the unit I have with me. The phone comes with diagonal 5.5-inch IPS Capacitive display with a resolution measuring 720 x 1280 pixels and 267ppi display density that is not too ugly for a lower mid-range phone.

Battery

Will the battery live to the hype by Tecno as being the phone with the longest battery life? You will be able to tell at the end of this review. I got the device few days ago I have been using the phone with my main Sim card inside. I set up my Instagram and whatSApp all running, I am not the gaming type, but I love playing music and videos.

I did little browsing at interval using wifi but my Instagram has been the most busy of the apps. I also used it to receive calls and today is the 3rd days I have been using it and this is my battery percentage. So you can judge for yourself if the battery is worth the hype or not

Reverse Charging

With the reverse charging on the tecno L8, there is no need for a power bank as the phone can be used to charge other devices. I tested this technology and is working smoothly. However I discovered that this device doesn’t really charge fast I may be wrong though because I expect it to charge to full capacity within 2hrs but it takes more than 2hrs to fully charge

Performance & Camera

A MediaTek Quad-Core processor clocking in at 1.3GHz runs the show on the Tecno L8. The smartphone has a built in storage of 16GB which can further be expanded up to 64GB using its
micro SD card slot. There is a 1GB of RAM that is reasonably fair for a device in this price range.

Camera

It sports an 8.0MP rear camera with a led flash alongside front facing snapper of just 2.0MP that may be of interest to those fond of selfies. The rear camera produces decent output in a well-lit condition but the low light aspect is poor. The rear flash is very bright for taking night photos

Conclusion
If you are fan of phone with good battery life, then falling in love with this device will not be hard decision to make. For me, it is freedom from the constant reminder that one needs to charge every day, especially in a country where access to constant electricity is a mirage. The device is available at a retail price of N29, 999.

One road side dealer once offered to sell me an IPhone 6 for 9k. Can you imagine that?
hehehehe iPhone 6 for 9k, they will sell you Boom J8 for N3, 500 telling you it can whatsapp, Facebook and do a lots of things

The death of Afeni Shakur was on the news yesterday. The song Dear Mama is a well composed song showing a remorseful son appreciating his mother. That Boom J8 is the king of music phone now. It comes with headphone, hope the op wasn't scammed of his own too?

I buy my devices from slot ng. its branches are nation wide. Why will I go to computer village to buy devices. I will advice people not to go there since the authorities and unions in computer village don't want to do anything about 419ners and the fraudulent transactions happening in computer village. Brand new devices are cheaper in slot compared to computer village.
it's safer and cheaper too
