You will need a lot of patience, time and data lol but it is doable once you get a hang of it. Start by reading through these threads here and google as well. Most of the things are there. Read up on what you will need to package for your uncle too since that is a third party sponsorhip. All the best Iamtombrown: |

Liquid cash is preferable. The T bills, stocks etc can be added on as but you can’t only submit T bills from What I have read. All the best AbSapi: |

It is hard to tell for sure whether you will be able to get into a masters or not. Although your last 2 years were 2.1, with how competitive it is getting it is still going to be challenging although not doable. Probably target the low/mid tier schools. If you search this forum and online I think there are some lists of schools that people with 2.2 have gotten in. Otherwise you want to try for a PGD/PGC maybe as back up if you don't get in and then work it up from there. All the best youngemperor: 1 Like |

bullstriker: Hello Bullstriker, My brother submitted his application too in May and we have been waiting since then. We have sent countless emails and web forms no response. Reached out to Mp- no response and GCMS notes- no significant information. Latest update was on November 28 when they requested for updated LOA which was sent immediately. Review of eligibility also started. Any other advice or suggestions? Thank you |

Unlimitedojay: Just use the search bars and for example look up pof, proof of fund, sponsor, loan, mpower, banks pof etc. There are specific pages but I can’t which one because as you said there are many pages. For your sister, she can’t enter with her Nigerian dental certificate. She will need to decide what she really wants To do and how much time and money she wants to commit to the process. She can’t practice dentistry without going back to school in the US and Canada. It’s slightly more easier for the US route but less chances of getting in. For Canada, best thing is to try and reach out to anyone that has gone that route before. If she decides to go to Canada she needs to be aware that she may fully not be able to practice dentistry for a long time. But if she is open to some other things then she should go ahead and enter through school at this time. I hope this helps. 1 Like |

Unlimitedojay: Well I am assuming you are planning to for for a masters and looking at worst case scenario without a scholarship your friend is right 4m will not be enough at all and that is even excluding the application payments, Medicals, ielts etc that are associated with your application. I think a good start is for you to do a research on which schools you want to apply to and look at their tuition plus living expenses and convert it using the black market rate to naira then you have an idea of how much you are looking for. Having said that all hope is not lost and there has been a lot of suggestions in this group on how to go about the financing. Take some time to read up. All the best. |

TiggyAce: I was just looking this up for a friend and yes it could be a ground for inissiblity depending on situation. For permanent residency only 3 categories of people are allowed including refugees and spouses of Canadian citizens. For temprorary students it’s a little bit more dicey. And in some situations they ask for applicants to state how they will be getting their drugs because of the ‘burden on their health care’. I will suggest you google this and probably talk to people before making your decision. Secondly with a third class, honestly it’s very unlikely that you will be itted into a masters program; I am not God but going with what I have read about this whole process. You might want to consider PGD and PGCs and you can proceed from there. Lastly, I was just going to say that I saw your other post about being fed up- bro, never give up! Your breakthrough is nearer than you think, keep up the good faith and keep hustling. 13 Likes |

Hi nairalanders, Please I am in a dilemma. My family went to apply for a visa today and my parents were given but my brother was denied. Purpose of visit is to attend my brother's graduation in Texas. They said he doesn't have sufficient ties and said he couldn't appeal in the letter they gave him. I am also doing my phd here in the US. Looks like they had an issue that he was the only child of my parents left in Nigeria and maybe they thought he wanted to run away which is not the case. He has a semester to complete his undergrad program here in. Nigeria. We are all pained at this time and we were thinking of reuniting as a family again this summer. Do you think we have good chances if he re- applies? And what can we d do better if he does that? I will appreciate any . The last few hours have been very painful because of this denial. He is the baby of the house so we all feel bad for him |
