VTC actuator issues. It's a factory problem common in some 8th and 9th gen accords. You could either change it --would be a huge pain in the a**-- or just learn to live with it/ignore it. It doesn't/won't affect anything. Good luck. Sirnioking: |

Sorry I'm just seeing this. Change the whole thing. That way, if the fault reoccurs, you can then change the shaft cup. Good luck. vivalavida: 1 Like |

Does the vibration feel like it's shaking from side to side between 20 and 40 mph but smoothens out afterward? If yes, it's your shafts --specifically the inner shaft cup on the enger side and/or driver's side. You should have one or both of them replaced. You may also want to check the mid-shaft in the enger side of the car (goes directly into the gear). If it has significant clearance or excessive play, you may want to replace that too. Lol... Be like I go edit that part. I still don't understand the herd mentality, but it is what it is. Every time I drive that car, particularly on a long journey, it puts a big smile on my face. ![]() ![]() @litigator, if you're buying Naija used, make sure you get a well-maintained one. And if it's toks, even better. You'll be glad you did. Conner44: |

Lol... It's the Naija-herd mentality I think. People don't appreciate the vehicle is all. I think they transferred the phobia for the ball t failure in the pre-2005 accords to the later models. Yet not once has mine failed even after plying some pretty rough roads. litigator: |

Pretty good car. Moves smoothly and provides an enjoyable ride Choose the 09/10. '08 has oil burn issues plus a few other kinks. Also, pay attention to the inner shaft. It has a tendency to become faulty... I don't know if that's just peculiar to mine, but that's been my experience. Some people don't mind the slight vibration before full acceleration but I do. So I'm pretty anal about that. Oh and the car doesn't tolerate abuse per se. If you commute through bad roads frequently, you WILL visit the mechanic often on of the arms/legs both at the front and back. Apart from these, the car's great. Good luck in your purchase litigator: 2 Likes |

You can either explain or not. Mechos are known to recommend toks extracted from other vehicles instead of brand new parts -- something about brand new parts being of inferior quality. Some folks don't know the difference. No need to be condescending. GAZZUZZ: 2 Likes |

I've noticed an increasing number of 2008 to 2012 Honda Accords on the road. If you own or have driven one, what has driving one been like for you? By driving experience, I mean handling, road feel, cabin noise --if any, and other experiences with the car. More importantly, what are the main or common issues you've had or are having with the car? And what did you do to correct them? Please chime in guys. 1 Like |

Why can't we just maintain infrastructure? This hasn't even been fully launched (not running on full schedule yet) and we're already having issues. Last time it was vandals. Now, it's fuel. And the queues have basically disappeared in IB. Why do I smell some sort of sabotage? This country just finds ways to stress one every day. Smh 35 Likes 1 Share |

I also changed that in the past, plus the vibrations don't feel like they're coming from the enger side. Feels more like the driver's side. But, thanks for the suggestion. It's given me something to consider too. Itsrm: |

Yes it was initially smooth. The vibrations returned 2-3 weeks later Itsrm: |

Good morning. I have an 09 accord that's been stressing me out. It does the following: 1. Vibrates/shakes during acceleration --usually between 20&40kmph. Runs smoothly after the 40kmph mark. Please note: I've changed the cv axles for both driver and enger sides and replaced engine mounts. 2. Struggles to start during the first try in the morning. Sometimes it doesn't particularly if I haven't driven it in 2 days. But it typically starts on the second try and starts smoothly afterwards throughout the day. Please note: I already changed the fuel pump 2x (second be time after buying bad fuel from an nnpc station) 3. Has significant vibration when I depress the brakes. Please note: I already replaced brake discs (both discs at the front) a while ago 4. Car feels like the tires are bouncing when I'm driving. All tires are gauged (225/65/16) to 35 psi. I've had vulcanizers look at the tires and they're in good condition --no uneven wear Can you cartalk gurus pls help with the diagnosis? I'd really appreciate it. |

Exactly! Honestly, if I'd known, I'd have just drained the fuel and emptied the tank. But I just changed the fuel pump and it ran properly. Then, bought some more fuel in the hopes that it would dilute the concentration of the bad fuel (in hindsight, not sure if that was a smart decision ![]() Sadly, the vehicle still struggles to start --takes a while to crank or starts on the second try. ![]() ![]() However, if our resident automotive engr @Gazzuzz can chime in on what to do, that would be great. Yes, the bad fuel is in Ibadan. Bought some last week at an nnpc station and had to change the car's fuel pump on Saturday -- that was when I saw that I'd bought bad fuel (looked like it had been mixed with water, but it still mixed when shaken). And even after changing the pump, the car still struggles to start --no alternator or battery issues as far as I know. @Egunmogaji2 if your bike has been going off while riding or feels like it's jerking, chances are you bought the bad fuel. My car did the same thing last week. P.S: Where did you buy the fuel? Mine was from an nnpc station along Akala express if you're familiar with the area. Might save some other person from making the same mistake. EgunMogaji2: 1 Like |

Good morning. Does anyone know a good honda accord mechanic and AC repairman in Ibadan? Kindly recommend if you know any. Thanks.

Good evening... Does anyone know the price of toks Honda Accord 2009 engine mounts. I'm also considering changing the steering rack and pump. So it'll be great if I can get an estimate for those too (toks too) Also, quick question: can bad engine mounts cause the car to vibrate upon acceleration and deceleration? Please note i already changed cv axles and brake discs. Thanks |

Thank you. Will do that. Appreciate the help.
