Apologies if my words come out as demeaning, brother.

Besides, why would anyone be asking who sent the money to me when everything is clearly stated in the document? Why would he be interested in what I want to use my money for? That's my business. Not his.
Apology accepted on behalf of all lawyers on the thread cool cool. They all have to look out for their own so I understand their stance. I guess @jjohndoe has said it all when he said the guy was being overzealous. The truth is that the questions were way too much and even his asking what you want to use the money for dey somehow because that must have been clearly stated in the letter. E be like say na POF of family for 6 you go notarize so he just had to shake you up well well grin grin.

As a lawyer, I feel pained that you denigrated this NP as a crook for no apparent reason. I believe he was entitled to ask these questions, I might have asked same. It doesn't make him a crook I think he was just doing his job and may have been overzealous about it.

In other news, a gift deed should only have one signature, that of the giver, just like a power of attorney. I don't think it should be two.
I was in one corner sipping tea and waiting for you Sir. Thanks for showing up grin grin

It is the hunger in the land and our culture of bastardizing everything here that makes it possible for business centres to carry notary stamps and charge 200-500 per page. That is how even notary publics will come to mean nothing in this country in the next few years.
The quoted text made me laugh my ass out. It seems you are a lawyer o, you are so well grounded in this topic.
In other unrelated news, if you are indeed a lawyer e be like say na your Chamber go notarize all my documents for me grin grin

If the lady is a chronic anuptaphobic and her self-esteem is seriously dependent on marrying. One alternative is to travel first and then mumsy can help her find a lucky naija man who she will come home to marry and sponsor abroad. I don't usually advice this because true intentions are difficult to decipher, it's 50:50 I have a girlfriend who did this successfully but both families knew each other before one family relocated so there was familiarity before. They've been married for a few years and I'm expecting my first godchild grin I have another friend who did this but divorced after 2 months. Oga JJC was after paper not love and he couldn't even hide it or pretend grin Sis got crazy and sent him back. I assisted her with packing into her new home post-divorce as per new life, new goals grin grin
Another alternative is to hurriedly find a man and get married before she leaves Naija to satisfy her longing for companionship, calm any fears and make her mother happy. But like they say, "if you rush too soon, you rush too out" Divorce is not a big deal in Canada so why rush in?

@ladymarshall hmmmn, always giving a thought provoking angle to it all. There is no better way to look at this but from your apt and succinct angle regardless of how long the post is grin. I guess her major fears might be coming from the fact that her POF might eventually come from her parents and for this to work out she has to be on the same page with her mum. I guess the focus should be on moving on with the process and keep an open mind to it all. Her focus should be the future of herself and her unborn children when she eventually find the right spouse especially if she is anuptaphobic. I wish her the best going forward.

Journey started August last year, my ex and I broke up 2 months before and I seeing one Canadian agent’s cArd in his wallet. I sha snapped it and never bothered about it. He wanted to go to Estonia as he was into IT and hoped to get shengien visa. I did my research on Nairaland too and sent him the link, we both read. My dumb ass really wanted to go with him as per the “LOML” when I knew fully well Estonia was never in my bucket list after the breakup I realized I wanted Canada or Australia instead of the Estonia I was researching on. I carried myself to Nairaland and read the express entry thread for both countries and concluded Canada was easier and left Australia.

Sometimes in September 2018 or there about another bobo waka come that wan said it was Australia he was going to that he preferred it cos of distance and he won’t have to look back to naija again. Omo na so I borrow myself brain sharp sharp I told him I’m not doing oh before another boy comman ruin my career for me

Right now I don’t have a port Cos my dog ate it, and no! I wasn’t careless. The dog picked it from my opened bag on the floor in my room. (lesson here, be extra careful with your documents) and the new one isn’t ready yet but it should be out before 15 days I have to submit my port for VISA.

PS I’ve been a very active nairaland since 2011 but I had to create this dummy profile so that my village people will not trace me on my main . God bless you all, God bless Seun Osewa for this wonderful platform. God bless God for been God.

Can I go ahead and claim my NYSC experience under the same NOC as my current job description even though they are not exactly the same?

Note that I have maxed out on my IELTS.

Thank you.

Just as @dadr has suggested go ahead and add the experience as that is your golden ticket. You don't need to make the job description look like that of your current job, just state the right job roles in your reference letter and get it signed. If you are finding it hard to determine your NOC, just post your job descriptions on here and be sure you will get help from the wonderful people on here. All the best!

In addition to this, you still have to provide pof, with your husband inclusive
All these are actually helpful. But if I understand her situation very well, things are not going according to plan in the relationship at the moment. The solution you and Uchi proferred will have been so the best way to go if not that she will also need to him to do medicals in addition to the POF provision which I believe shouldn't be a problem for her. If this can be achieved, then it is the best choice as it will save all the stress of numerous paper works here and there. If not she do just have file for separation or divorce as others adviced but I don't know the Nigerian judicial system and also how fast this process could take, we can't tell if she is hopeful things will get better between them in the future too. The last option which I am not too sure about should be for her to state her case explicitly using a say it all 'emotional LOE' stating her peculiar situation with succinct proofs to the VO just as she did to us and we understood and hope and pray that the reviewing officer is humane enough not to stand in the way of her achieving her dreams.

Catching up has been real deal for me mehn, person no fit blink for this thread o you will definitely come back and find like 100 pages. @ladymarshall serving us a band 8 essay on why Canada is more preferable to Scandinavian countries in between, madam I hail o and @topsmamen and other renowned men of God doing God's work, may you all continue to receive strength. Congratulations to all PPR and most recent ITA clinchers. But omo the tie break wey this guys do today no be here o. Also all my Accra guys are ballers o, Ottawa please wake up abeg, plenty juicy PPR stories is hanging on your delays.

On a side note, it is now pertinent that 450 is the new cool o as we have all gotten to deal with it for three months now. As previously advised please do whatever you can to boost your CRS to this range. If you have a verifiable work experience that you initially didn't want to claim points for, now is the time to reconsider, if na to rewrite IELTS and max out on at least three modules, please do it (the wealth of knowledge here will make that very possible), if na make spouse do ECA or IELTS please let them do it now. Time is of the essence on this life changing journey. God bless us all.

URGENT!!!
Please my elders here help a brother out...i just ed the ielts and am about to start the process. The issue is that am planning to get married to my girl, and she is in her final year in university, when I calculated my score it fell to 449 as against 471 in case I intend to apply as a single person. Do I apply as single so that when I get there I come and pick her or is there any way around it? I am open to ideas.... Please help me.

This too should have been cleared. Bro you can marry your girl and make her happy grin, love is a beautiful thing. Your score at 449 is still not bad as we hope the draws will come down to that range soonest, you could also get her to write IELTS and score more points for you guys. Going through the spousal sponsorship route from all I have read on this thread could be tricky but please ensure you are legally married to her before creating your profile if you are going to go down that route. Happy married life in advance!! I no go mind come chow rice o grin. God's Speed bro.

My people i need your contribution ooo, i work with my dad and i have 3 years work experience as operations manager in the company. It is actually an enterprise but it is ed. I have my employment letter and my pay slips with my tax certificate with me. How do i claim points for work experience due to the fact that it is my fathers company?
Can he sign for me and give me a refrence letter?
I will be very greatful if you can enlighten me and put me through.
Thanks so much

I believe you should have gotten the requisite response but I will just give you the same reply as I was given by someone special on this thread, since you have everything to prove that you work in the company especially payslip which means you most likely received your salary through the bank and not cash payment which could be tricky but is also not a problem, then you are okay. No CIC rules say we no fit work for our parent company, they just want to be sure you did the work and you got paid and the job is not some form of Oluwole arrangement grin. As regards who signs the reference letter, if there is an istrative, HR or any other appropriate person that can do that, it will be preferable as this will reduce the chances of extra scrutiny but if it is just your dad that can sign it, other evidences such as the employment letter, payslip and even statement of highlighting salary deposits along with your reference letter will suffice. With these the case officer handling your file no go get anything to prove as you have covered all bases. God's Speed bro.

Somebody obviously believes it takes serious skills and training to become barbers and hairstylists. They even have Red Seal certification.

The same somebody believes any Tom, Dick and Harry fresh out of high school can be a customer service rep.

Thanks for the response. I will be 29 in December though, so I think age is still on my side.

My IELTS score: LWRS - 8 7 7.5 8.5

I believe you should have gotten some kind of useful response by now because I have been away for a while also trying to strategize on how to solve my ITA palava with some help from some special people on this thread as score no gree drop sad. With this score you really do not have a problem and there is very little you can do as maxing out writing is a LONG shot, so I will advice that you could start thinking of ing for BCS IT certification which deadline is July since the certifications which you currently have can't be evaluated according to @ottawasenator, but do make sure you wait till the deadline in July before ing. I really do believe you will get ITA before that time though as CIC's turnioinown around 450s this year go most likely soon come to the 440s too (gravity gats apply at some point). God's speed bro. Make I go continue my strategizing for one corner cool.

LONG VERSION

BEFORE 2018 - BACKGROUND
I was your average, not-very-ionate, but quietly loyal Nigerian. All I wanted to do was make it here and go for holidays abroad. As my friends were jetting out one by one, I watched with a weird mixture of envy and disdain.

Ahan, @ladymarshall was not wrong at all, we have seen -19 in their grading system, it is time for us to see an overgrade. Script so succinct and apt at the same time. LOE......trust issues? On the contrary, LOEs come in handy as they help convey vital information that the VO should know about your application. It's actually not a big deal to write one. Since you already have salary evidence (pay slips) from other employers, just write and sign an LOE to explain that you were paid in cash.

I guess his fear is the fact that he thinks the V.O. might just not believe the experience is not arranged as all he has is the job reference, employment letter and maybe the LOE which can be typed by anyone and the additional proofs which he could have presented is not being made available. You know how we overthink things and want to be sure no part of the application comes back to haunt us. Please just give more clarification on this.

We recently got a report of someone whose ECA was done by WES but had his completed ECA show that indeed his school is not recognized even though they collected the fee o. So I guess it will be best to try evaluating with some other body like ICES to avoid stories that touch. You can send ICES an email before you start the evaluation. It has also been confirmed here that getting your school to send your transcript to them via the school's official email kind of makes the evaluation a bit faster. @topsmamen na your input remain now o. All the best.

How does abandoning medicine or not concern CIC?

@DrMrs, all I am saying is that if he will be writing an LOE stating his resignation from his job, he could give them more detail that his need to concentrate on the exams is the core reason and he will get back to practicing afterwards. I am just stating the above because as I am come to learn on this thread that it do be better to leave no stones unturned when ing any message across to the V.O. I stated it the way I did because I was trying to summarise. Apologies is you misconstrued the statement.
