Many who voted this man did so because of osibanjo hoping his intelligence and vatse management skills will be used

You see the cabals hav done us more harm..

Even presidential briefings can best be handled by Him...

I have said it severally many of the minister's like fashola and even amaechi will make a better president than what we have now
Nigeria will likely not make progress not until tribal and religious sentiments are set aside

You've such an assistant like osibanjo and you choose to keep him in the dark I just don't understand where is the leadership skills and integrity the ers are boasting off all over

An excerpt from an article on Amaechi:

Model Primary schools

With a target of 700 Model Primary Schools, the Amaechi istration has completed 500 across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State. They are equipped with ICT facility, modern library, science laboratory, football field, basketball pitch, volleyball pitch and Nursery playground.

Model Secondary Schools

24 model Secondary Schools are being built, 1 in each Local Government Area, well structured and fully equipped with modern day educational, recreation and boarding facilities with standard housing for teachers, these secondary schools have grossly been referred to by observers as Universities.

Primary Health Care Centres

160 new Model Health Centres are currently scattered across the State, meeting the Governor’s vision of bringing quality health care closer to the people. Almost 100 of these health centres have been completed, fully equipped and functional, while work is still ongoing at other sites.

This was from a governor in a State. So when someone tells me in a time of this kind of crisis with people dying like flies all over the World about time and money, I get angry.

In this kind of time, they are still thinking of looting and not the kind of catastrophe that can come if not properly handled.

These thieves are forgetting they have no where to run to this time.

The much publicised broadcast.

Was not live but prerecorded at a destination unknown and left too much to be desired.

And created more questions than ANSWERS.

Osinbanjo should take over. The earlier the better. This is war. There is no room for tribalism or ethnic sentiments.

The remaining resources should be in his control and well channelled.

How can the academia be left out of the response process. These Daura Cartel can not think in that perspective. I doubt they have ever read a research paper, let alone write one.

We need large studies and unilateral channel of resources to combat this.

Massive testing is a must if we must win.

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko said this is World War III situation and the enemy is a virus.

We should not underrate the enemy, which is an essential rule of winning a war.

There is no way Amaechi would have been governor of Rivers State and this mess will happen. It is impossible. Amaechi built over I think 100 health centres and equipped them. Carried out free health care for people over 80 and below 6.

Before Ebola hit Port Harcourt, he released 300 million to equip a selected isolation centre in I think Emohua.

Wike is just shouting Lockdown up and down like if it is a medicine.

I agree without a doubt Amaechi and Fashola would have outperformed this Daura Cartel hands-down.

Bro...like what Deji said on facebook this period will create emergency billionaires amongst some crooks in power

What baffles me is the speed they claimed to have disbursed billions of niara to 2.6M households up till now I haven't seen anyone that received that money

A reasonable government would have used the CBN (BVN) links to disburse such money to Nigerians with less than 50k in their s put together by so doing every household will b touched because hardly a Nigerian household without an owner

If you followed the President's speech thread, you would have seen my remarks. As soon as the President said they will continue the school feeding program despite children being at home, I knew that portion of the money was already gone.

Money which should have been prioritised for urgent and rapid testing for the virus. He talked about waving some loans, do not worry, those are audio loans that are gone.

We are paying the price of allowing dumb folks rule us. They are still thinking about what they can grab instead of channelling their thoughts into saving thousands of lives.

I honestly hope for a miracle.

Just so unfortunate those cabals won't allow the vice president to really step in to take charge

Had it been he was allowed to act on behalf of the president on this matter with maximum authority I am so sure this would have been done in a much better than it is now

Ever since he sacked that top security chief and upon buhari return things changed he has been sidelined and no longer allowed to take charge

He is someone i really think would have done better if left to handle this with the 36 state governors, ministry of health and it's agencies moreover he is an offshoot of the fashola istration that effectively contained Ebola in Lagos

NCDC set up eight labs, with more investment in that same time frame, they would have set up more. I am not buying that crap that it takes time to set up labs.

If South Africa could improvise to have 67 mobile sites, we have no excuse to still play around with a meagre 8 when one was even donated by StanbicIBTC to the best of my knowledge.

Precisely. The abandon of Osinbanjo is criminal. Especially, his successes in handing crises like that of the avengers and the high rise of dollars. This was a chance to get the best brains from the Presidency but their ethnic and tribal hinges have clouded their brains.

The reason is very simple, we simply do not have the capacity to do mass testing not even the testing of high risk groups.

In Nigeria we are testing the rich and political leaders. Just like the UK.

The UK supposed 5th largest economy in the world. Has been exposed a combination of poor leadership and long term strategic economic planning as well as poor infrastructural capacity.

Consider this 550,000 NHS staff only 2000 have been tested. The reality is that you are more likely to get the virus if you go to hospital from the staff.

In the UK for 6 weeks there has been no hand sanitiser available in the shops. Forget face mask that's not available either.

Why because in the name of globalisation (cheap article) they have outsourced everything. They don't make tooth picks in the UK not cost effective.

At least they are manufacturing hand sanitiser in Nigeria even government is giving it out for free with face masks. Maybe l should ny some in Nigeria and get it DHL to me here, absurd but that's the only way I'll get some.

With out little resources Nigeria is doing well, yes they could do better but the nation is pulling together and will overcome. I think Nigerians should be commended doing a lot from very little.

I am sorry but I can not commend gross incompetence. Because, the mismanagement of UK health system does not give any credence to gross ineptitude.

In Nigeria we have money released and donated to curb this virus. Yet, we are yet to see investment in where it is most needed. We have States, sitting on massive IGR and allocations refusing to open testing labs or set up quality isolation centres. Without private sector donating, lots of State would not even have isolation centres.

Until the federal government changes its policy on policing people and not the virus, I can not give them praise in any way.

There is something someone said on Twitter, "The corona virus patients you see today, are not today's patients. They were infected weeks ago, but thee symptoms only came up today"

Most countries failed to lock down and close their borders on time, by the time they closed it, the virus had already gotten in. Furthermore, what can you do, when it is your own citizens bringing in the virus?

There are reports that the virus had been in the US as early as January, one man, who claimed to have exhibited the symptoms in January, took a test some days ago, that can detect those who have recovered from corona virus, to see if he had indeed been infected by the virus, and the result was positive.

The result of lock down will not be seen today, t will take months for things to die down. China locked down in January, and are raising it in April. Almost four months. The lock down in some countries could be up till June, before you will notice progress.

Nigeria's own is even special, because this country is filled with idiots. One man, returned from London and was exhibiting symptoms, he went to Yaba, and they told him he had the virus, but instead of isolating, he decided to go to LUTH instead, where he and his family lied about his travel history. He's one of the two deaths recorded yesterday. They have exposed the staff of LUTH to the virus, because of their own dishonesty. What about the six idiots that ran away in Osun?

We get problem for this country, and it is not the government.

Very informative. Thank you.

At the end, it baffles me how our leaders prioritise money over lives from the already down trodden people.

The point you raised concerning the patient who had indeed recovered from the disease without knowing highlights the point.

Many have it, are even recovering from it without knowing but are spreading the disease. The only immediate solution to curb the virus is by testing massively and isolating them.

Just like isolating returnees before exposing to the public would have saved us a lot of headache, we need to start massive testing. In Italy, people are throwing money on the street after learning the hard lesson of how valueless money can be in desperate situations.

The money at the disposal of the federal, state, local government and the NCDC must get channelled into testing to keep people alove.

Are you better than the governor of New York who locked down the state?

His Lockdown yielded the highest death rate in the World when it concerns Covid-19. The City is on Lockdown, has one of the highest testing going on, isolating and treating people.

Here in Nigeria, we are just locking down and expecting it not to spread.

Comparing what we are doing to that of New York beats my imagination.

Lockdown can take place but priority must go into Testing, isolating and treating infected ones.
MainJoe: 8:39am On Apr 04, 2020
To date, it (South Africa) has tested more than 47,000 people, although experts and health officials say that much more needs to be done to try and isolate infected individuals. Head of the Medical Research Council Glenda Gray told Quartz Africa that the country should be testing about 25,000 people a day. “We’re far behind.”

https://www.google.com/amp/s/qz.com/africa/1832066/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-in-south-africa-leads-continent/amp/

Nigeria is testing about 200 people a day. We have only 8 testing labs unlike South Africa that has over 67 mobile testing labs alone.

I doubt testing is going on in a place like Rivers State. It is baffling why we hinge on Lockdowns that will not keep us safe, over mass testing and isolation that will quickly curb the spread.

Malawi had closed down its borders and declared a state of emergency like a week ago even when they had no confirmed cases.. now they have 3...

Before the end of this month, every country on earth may be affected...

What we (including oga Humility ) should be more concerned about is how the citizens can cooperate with the government to help reduce the spread of the virus...we shouldn't make the same mistake USA,UK and Italy made by underestimating the impact of the virus... There are still some people in Nigeria who believe that coronavirus isnt in the country. They think it is a hoax created by the government to loot money...

I do not believe in lockdowns as a means to curb the virus. Look at the rate at which the virus spreads despite Lockdowns. This virus has a way of penetrating even the most formidable Lockdown situations.

The solution remains rapid testing and early treatment. Just like any other disease. Most people who were discovered to have the virus early survived with early treatment to keep them from getting respiratory conditions.

If we study Dr. Vladimir Zelenko's treatment and regimen, it has to do with getting people treated early. By treating 699 patients with his treatment and regimen, he had no deaths.

The lockdown creates an illusion that all is well by the time the respiratory illness comes, it is too late.

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones.

My guess is that we have numerous people who were in intensive care before the treatment started. This is due to the treatment starting late. So those who are critical are dying but the treatment is to treat people before they fall critically ill.

That is why I am crying out for us to start massive testing, so we can source for the drugs locally and treat early to prevent people going into critical conditions.

Assuming you are married and sharing phone access with each other, it would have been better to understand

You are just dating and you want to monitor his communication, you will end up getting hurt

Leave his phone for him, if he wants to be loyal to you, he will be, guys will always explore

You too, keep your lock to yourself, it's your privacy and don't think sharing it with him means love, noo ❗ ❗ ❗

It doesn't work that way

If you want to love him and be loyal to him, it's your choice and if you want to have them many, it's your choice and not his business

You can't monitor a man even on your wedding night, unless you want to get frustrated

Totally disagree with your advice and I will tell you why.

People have different tolerance rate and different commitment status. People who know they are committed and highly devoted in their relationships, want the same. To you it might feel like just dating, to another, it takes emotional devotion to stay in a relationship.

I bet she is the open type, committed and not jumping from one to another. She does not have men buzzing her phones, talking of past escapades. Such a person will not see the relationship as just dating and wants same commitment from the other.

The fact is, if the other is not ready to commit, she should move on to a more focused and serious person. She knows what she wants in a relationship and she should look for that. Compromise means destroying who she really is.

The fact you were comfortable and at ease with both of you being open with your personal dealings, now you are not means, sorry to say it, you might be at the end of the road.

Confront him again. Tell him you missed the trust you had for each other. Tell him you are only comfortable with the way things were with you guys. If he insists on keeping things hidden from you, sweetheart bounce and look for one who will stay open to you for life.

Hydroxychloroquine rated 'most effective therapy' by doctors for coronavirus: Global survey

An international poll of more than 6,000 doctors released Thursday found that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine was the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus.

The survey conducted by Sermo, a global health care polling company, of 6,227 physicians in 30 countries found that 37% of those treating COVID-19 patients rated hydroxychloroquine as the “most effective therapy” from a list of 15 options.
