Nairobi handled my spouse visit visa that got approved this month.
Eriokanmi:
Very true. At times when people say Nairobi,I always get confused. TRV has always been processed by their Nigeria office. Each time I sent them mails on the status of my application, they had never referred me to Nairobi and it's same email address I've been using for nearly 10 years now. They'd definitely respond to me.

When I heard people talk Can Plus here, that as a usa visa holder, your application won't take long to process and I could also confirm this via people's testimonies here, I was worried at some point, why my application took longer, despite being in that category so, I mailed their Lagos office. I also filled a webform. I didn't even choose if I was applying from outside Canada or not and they responded that my application was being processed in their Lagos office in the mail i received, apart from the one sent by the IRCC to corroborate this.

A few days later, I received my PPR.

If you submit your port yourself, you will get it within a week.

Thank you, do you know any time frame to get port stamped. I only have 2 weeks in country.

Where ever he is applying from he need the provincial attestation letter as long as he is applying for a new study permit. ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE RENEWING THEIR STUDY PERMIT THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE THE LETTER.
orjohn24:

Do not cancel ur medical becos it more expensive to do medical inside canada and it has no negative on ur visit visa until u apply a new visa like student permit before the system will megre it to ur profile pls note if applying for student visa inside canada, u still going to present same requirement but only difference is you will not need attestation letter currently required for student visa but start preparing ur application package even before u move to canada especiallly ur ission offer and pof..pls avoid school not offering post study work permit(pgwp).. and do not think it automatic to get student permit even when u apply inside..you will still be accessed based on ur application..good luck

Your application won't be rejected if your planned programme or event you wanted to attend is over. Canada will still approve your visa if you qualify for one, anytime they process your application.
Madukachase: 5:04pm On Feb 21, 2024
Asking a Member of parliment to inquire about your application doesn't influence the outcome, but it helps to get decision to be made on your visa application if it has ed the estimated processing time.

Like mine is now 171 days I submitted an application, while the processing time at when i submitted it was 111 days.
hasbunallah:
I knew it too, back of ma mind, that her PPR may likely not be from MP long leg. If one have done the needful, the Visa will come. Hers too is already 3 months n 19days as at Monday. So with or without MP, the decision is same. Canada is what in vogue in my area here IKD. Almost everyone around me got positive result. My family friend applied, family of 5 all visa approved and in Canada already and processing took 3months and 17days. My brother own took exactly 4month.

There is nothing like MP long leg. If you have anyone residing in canada, they can simply their district MP to inquire on the status of your application from ircc. Because they are of parliment, ircc will respond to them faster. I the MP close to where i stay in canada for my spouse visit visa app. Cos its more than 171 day, and fortunately he was once secretary to the minister of immigration, and the current Attorney General of Canada. I just hope he i not too busy to put in a word on my behalf to ircc.
hasbunallah:

Everyone time line isn’t same. You will probably get positive result, if you will be refuse it will have come January. My brother did his biometrics same week with you, he got his PPr and visa stamped and received already in first week of January.
I did mine October 30 and it 3 months and 21 day today. A lady posted she did bio same as me Oct 30 and she posted here on Monday that she received are PPR. She mention she have MP long leg in Canada though… but let hang on…. You will be congratulated soon, and everyone here. Amin
Madukachase: 4:53pm On Feb 18, 2024
Yours was faster because of your us visa. November applicants should be looking at April ending for first timer, so they don't get High BP checking their portal every minute.
Eriokanmi:
Are you a first time applicant? Be expecting a response any moment from next week, if they still process applications based on their timelines. As at the time I applied mid November, the processing time was barely 100 days. Early December, it was 109 days before they shot it up astronomically in the week that followed. Though I've since picked up my visa. I had a valid US visa with 5 years validity before applying.

I thought the reason for updated pof is to make sure funds in the are not for demonstration purpose.
Debbieeeeeee:

It's common for those applying for Permanent Residency (PR) to receive an ADR (Additional Document Request) for their proof of funds if the rates have changed. However, if they are working with the rate of submission date, why do they send people ADRs to update their proof of funds?

Lol. Pretty dumb. You must have checked my previous post, i wanted to travel 2020, but i had to stay back in nigeria and build a good profile. Not doing gambling with visa application. I told myself i would only apply once to any country of my choice. I took years to build a good profile. Family, Business, assets.

I did not make a choice to come to canada just because ppl are flocking to canada.

If I hadn't applied to canada, I would have gone to Portugal. I NO APPLY FOR VISA BECAUSE OF VISA BONANZA, OR BECAUSE ITS THE NEW TREND.

If my study visa was rejected, i would have gone for a "Judicial review". You know what that is? It means I would have challenged the decision of the vo.

You been here in canada less than 2 years even before u dream of having a port , we know the protect letter people wrote including professors of african origin via the parliment in ottawa when ircc hardly approve africa student visa.Do a little research . go and check how many student visa issed 5 years ago and now And for visit visa, many people got visa after covid when the rules was relaxed for mass proxessing btw 2022 and 2023 to clear the backlog before then canada visit visa was never easy . I am disappointed with your unclear reasoning, especially considering that you are 29 years old with a bachelor's degree in political science from ABSU in 2018. I expected more from a political analytical viewpoint, and this situation reflects the shortcomings of our education system in failing our youth back home. It's disheartening !

I have not seen a gcms note, talking about travel history, Unless you have overstayed your visit in another country.

When your visa is rejected or denied, order for gmcs note, don't rely on the generic response or reason for visa denial.

Someone here made mention of VO stating their visa application was denied because of their family ties in canada, when they have no family member in canada. That is a generic response. Order for your gmcs note to get the specific vo concern.

Read again.

People who are claiming asylum, what kind of profile do they have?

How many percent of those people are 40 and above?

How many of them has a steady stream of atlease 500k monthly income?

How many of them are married with kids?

How many of them has assets here in nigeria?

And you said am arguing blindly?

Let me ask you a personal question, If you have 5 million in the bank with steady stream of income of atleast 500k monthly, and property, will you sell it and go and seek for asylum?

Onye nzuzu

uchennay:

You're arguing blindly!!!. Travel history is crucial for Canadian visa applications now because evidence shows many first-time travelers overstay or claim asylum. Do you believe they'll keep issuing visas to people with no travel history? Asylum has become a political issue in Canada. Don't judge based on sentiment; it's caused by our people. If you were a visa officer in Canada, would you continue issuing visas knowing many who previously received visas end up making false asylum claims AND most of them have no travel history , like falsely claiming to be LGBTQ+? We must fear God and defend the truth, not lies!!!

Check your last 10 response to post here and see how much darkness you are in. That all
orjohn24:

Several responses have been provided to u , but allow me to share additional insights with you. It's crucial to understand that when individuals from a specific country misuse their visas, it has repercussions for others. Reflect on a recent scandinavia country visa rejection letter I came across; it explicitly mentioned that Nigerians frequently fail to return home after visiting, resulting in visa refusals with similar explanations.

Furthermore, it's essential to acknowledge that illegal immigration poses a threat to national security of any country .many visa holder including Consider the scenario where many Nigerians obtained visas for Canada on tourist visas last year. Unfortunately, eight out of every ten youth either overstayed or claimed asylum, often falling below 45 years of age without travel experience. This raises concerns about the strain on Canada's visa system, impacting the economic costs of asylum—a matter that even the government of Quebec is expressing concern about—and it placing pressure on social infrastructure like housing.

Engaging in a debate without insult and enlightening each other based on facts is imperative. Challenge yourself to find cases where spouses and underage children of Canadian citizens( not adult), entitled to Permanent Residency, were refused despite being able to prove their ability to care for them. It's worth noting that relying solely on a substantial bank doesn't necessarily establish strong ties to one's home country when applying for a Canadian visit visa. Many visa abs, even with significant funds, continue to exploit their visas to claim asylum and overstay . Redirecting our energy towards legal immigration processes is key, ensuring that nations will respect us.
To collectively address these issues, it's crucial for us nation to come together, face the truth, and be our brother's keeper, putting an end to illegal and selfish practices.

Lol. I wont argue with you. Travel history is a plus. But say na poor men pikin need travel history. I have seen lots of ppl. Seen, not hear say, that visited canada without travel history.
NuCypher:

I will quote you. Technically, you don't need travel history to visit any country. No embassy asks that you have travel history before you apply for their visa. However, it is a non-written rule that you need travel history to guarantee your visas to places like the US or Canada. In fact, if you have traveled to the US before and returned and not violated any of their country laws, you don't need to visit any US embassy again in your life to renew your visa. The last time I was at the US embassy was over 10 years ago. Since then, I just send my port by mail for them to stamp a renewal on it. Also, if you have travlled to the US before and returned, Canada won't even take more than 1 month to process your visit visa. It's almost automatic as long as your documents check out. On the contrary, if you are applying with a virgin port, prepare to wait as long as 3-4 months.

So, yes, there's an unwritten rule that travel history counts a lot.

Director? Lol. I get your point bro. But if every area as you mentioned are fine, but the applicant has no travel history the vo cant refuse an application solely on travel history.
I acknowledge travel history is a plus. But there are 2 ppl here singing about canada visa bonanza is over, and how almost everyone applying for visit visa will fail, just because they or their loved one visa was denied. You made mentioned of getting visa with 700k balance, how much was the inflow and out flow of the ? What was the duration of the statement? Did the statement look like dump and pull fund?

Didn't you show good employment or business, home ties like family and properties?

Thats the good profile am talking of. Not cut and documents, or one fake unbelievable story in sop.

Travel history is a plus. But getting visa without travel history is easy and doable. With a good profile.
hunee:

Director Maduka,
Good evening.
I thought i should not reply, but i did not have a choice, as it stands, I also want to establish some point.

We are all here to learn(Even though your post was not directed at me, I can make some inputs, if you would allow for that)

Look at the bolded, you see those two things are key for successful visa applications.

Sometimes, it is not even your balance. I have received visas with 700k and 400k balance, then again, the document was solid and the porfolio was good as perceived by the VO.

Do not forget, no one has a mastery or magic wand for visa applications, as the consular or visa officer has a final say.

Good portfolio, but again a good travel history sometimes or maybe all the time matters.

Above all, if you are applying for visas, which i feel it is critical to note, avoid most common mistakes as numbered below;

1. Document forgery
2. Incoherent information's or data.
3. Not ed records on public platforms
4. Falsification of information's, not been truthful
5. Going against the standard as you are required for that application by the embassy(If they tell you use black pen, use black) Following instructions is key.
6. Applying to the wrong visa category

As listed, these mistakes or acts are very common amongst visa applicants, which is very much undeniable, even when many always claim or want to be seen as though, everything was perfect on their applications.
Visa officers have no job than to look for errors on your applications, so you dont give them chance or opportunity for that.

Inconclusion, soft and light words are sometimes preferred for responses , so the recipent can grab the message.
The majority of people who apply for visas on these platforms are either doing it for the first time or had never had the exposure.

A proper diagnosis of the subject matter will aid the tone for the discuss.

Goodevening House.

So because one spouse or parent is a student in canada it is automatic visa approval to their family ? (There are family of Canadian citizens getting visa rejection, how much more student)

Canada visa bonanza has ended. Lol. But only this year on this thread we have seen 3 - 5 visa approval.

If you don't know what to say shut the f**k up!

Take or quote me anywhere, you don't need a travel history to visit any country. You only need a good profile, and over 70% boils down to convincing the VO you will return back to your home country.

IF ALL THE BETTER COUNTRIES DEY FIND TRAVEL HISTORY, SHEY NA ANGOLA OR GHANA TRAVEL HISTORY YOU WON USE CONVINCE THEM?

Scholarship is not granted to alleviate the financial burden of applicants, its granted to promote and uphold academic excellence.
And i insist it help one's application to show bank statements (and who is talking
about substantial bank?), especially if you are going for masters or phd. Shey na mama thank you, the person dey chop for nigeria?

The person will probably put their work history in their app. Abi shey na free you dey work?

Employment and good paying job without even $2k cad in your bank? Or property worth millions of naira and no bank statement?

Fully funded scholarship only covers the financial aspect of your education. They are other parts the VO will also look to make their decisions. And 80% if not more is based on home ties, as more than 90% of visa rejection is based on this statement "AM NOT CONVINCED YOU WILL LEAVE CANADA AFTER YOUR STUDY".

No 2 visa case are the same, do whatever you think will make your application stronger.

orjohn24:

Absolutely, scholarships vary, and some fully funded ones, ed by the government or universities, don't require personal bank statements. People I know have successfully obtained visas by emphasizing academic excellence and financial need in their SOPs, stemming from their challenging parental financial backgrounds. It appears contradictory for visa officers to demand substantial bank s when the full funded scholarship is specifically granted to alleviate the financial burden of applicants in difficult situations with expectional academic talent.
Madukachase: 2:59pm On Feb 10, 2024
And because you got fully funded scholarship you dont need to show home ties? Proof that you will return to your home country? Especially if you are going for a graduate program. What have you been doing?
orjohn24:

Oga, only discuss what you're certain about. If you're on a full scholarship covering living expenses (as many scholarships only cover partial costs), and you're fortunate to secure a fully funded scholarship, proof of funds isn't necessary. Simply present evidence of the scholarship, especially if it's a departmental one; your ission letter serves as confirmation. I'm acquainted with numerous scholarship students in Canada who didn't need to show proof of funds (ur bank statement) when fully funded!
Madukachase: 12:18am On Feb 10, 2024
Even if your scholarship covers your living cost and feeding, you still need to show bank statement
Vannie12:
Good evening all,
Thank you for all the helpful info posted here so far.

Does someone with a scholarship to a Canadian university still need to a bank statement/ statement of ? Please your valuable advice will be appreciated.

APT.

Its things like this that some applicant here dont consider or dont know about and they want Canada to give them visa because Canada is doing visa bonnaza. And if they fail, others will fail with them. Lol
slimmsyyetty:
IN MY OWN OPINION....3m is far too low for both of you.

There are some things that needed to be cleared because it is not all about someone inviting you, especially if you are an active citizen and not a senior citizen..

Is your cousin sponsoring you and your spouse on a full time invitation, including return tickets ( cost of return ticket is now well over 2m per enger to Canada so it won't be less than 5m for both of you)? Now the VO might want to think why your cousin would want to spend such amounts just for ordinary invites on tickets alone, aside other costs, considering the family tree is now extended. It's now your statement and that of your spouse that would weigh in to see how financially strong or buoyant you are in your home country. That's your financial ties

And how would your financial statement be of help? Your job!!! What do you do?? What does your spouse do? Did you apply for your leave at this same time for having want to go together? If you this stage strongly, you go to the next scrutinized stage...Family ties

Do you have children that would make you come back? How many are they? Whose care would they be while you are away? Would your balance be sufficient to cover up their expenses back home while you are away with your spouse? Then you go to the next stage...Economy ties

Do you have investments, properties, active business, assets e.t.c. in your home country that proves your economic stability and sure return?

Travel history is a boosting factor too, especially US but I believe if 90% of your application docs meet the other eligibility requirements, then you may be considered

Now use your 3m s balance to judge all the questions above.

Shalom!!!
