Ecobank is good in deducting someone money anyhow, useless bank
lol...pls tell me which bank in Nigeria that doesn't deduct money. It's either for debit cart maintenance or SMS alert. There will always be something they deduct for. If it's not for those two, abeg go complain o. You can tweet @ecobank_nigeria. The handle helps a lot on resolving issues.

Managing Director, Ecobank Nigeria, Patrick Akinwuntan has restated the bank’s commitment to excellent service delivery to meet the needs and aspirations of its customers at all times. Flagging off the 2018 Customer Service Week at the Ikorodu branch of the bank on Tuesday, the Managing Director, said the week is a huge opportunity to say thank you and to celebrate customers of the bank. He assured that the bank will remain committed to excellence in products and services delivery at all its touch points.

“This is another moment to celebrate you. We will always celebrate you. You are the reason why we are in business. Excellent customer service is a vital part of our promise as a bank. For us, this is more than just providing answers. It’s helping customers even when they don’t know they need help. It’s teaching them how to do more with our products. It starts with a smile and a friendly word, and finishes with sharing our expertise, even when it has nothing at all to do with our products. We are committed to bringing you superior customer service, whenever, wherever, and however you need it. Thank you for choosing Ecobank.” He noted.

Mr Akinwuntan , who was a “Bank Teller” today at the Ikorodu Branch used the opportunity to showcase some of the digital and innovative self-service options offered by Ecobank. “We have Ecobankmobile app, and it is only one app for all the s of the group including Nigeria. When you are within the app, you can switch from one country to the other, you can do transfers from one country to the other, instantly, seamlessly, real-time. On the app, you can also open an instant , which we call Xpress within 5 minutes, without having to go physically to the bank. Also on the app you can pay for your electricity bills, school fees, hip fees for major associations, insurance s, DSTV, but more importantly, you can also generate a token, which we call Xpress Cash, and you can take that code to any Ecobank ATM and withdraw cash. It’s very convenient and we have more than 8 million onboarded s on Ecobankmobile across Africa including 1.5 million of these s in Nigeria” he noted.

Further, the bank Managing Director said “we also offer on the app what we call EcobankPay. This is a multi-featured digital payment solution, designed to deliver unified and instant payment across a range of interconnected QR platforms (Master QR, mVISA and mCash). EcobankPay can be used by all businesses from small informal micro merchants to large corporates as well as governments, allowing them to offer easy and convenient payment options to their customers in-store or online. From Ecobankpay, you scan the code with your phone camera and make your payment. You can do this in any location with a Master or mVISA QR code. Also on the app there is the VISA Direct, which is a P to P functionality. This is the ability to use a VISA card to send money to another VISA card. When you have a VISA card and you have your with a bank that is not Ecobank. You can, on our app, transfer money from your VISA card to another VISA card.

The Customer Service Week is a global event established by the International Customer Service Association. It is a weeklong activity from October 1st – 5th, 2018 dedicated to raising awareness on customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practices. The chosen theme for this year is “Excellence happens here”. I mistakenly transfered money to one of the Beneficiaries I have on my GTB app. I immediately called my bank to report since I don't who the Beneficiary is. The next day I tracked the Beneficiary and he happened to be a guy I av sent money for payments before and he agreed to a reversal immediately, now it so happened that ECO Bank blocked his due to me calling my bank earlier. Before he could ask for reversal they demanded all sorts of identification which we finally brought, but now my money is no longer in the guys and he could not av withdrawn since his is still blocked. We went to speak with the customer care at eco bank and aside their rudeness told me the money is hanging and its left for my bank to request a reversal. Went to my bank and they told me its left to eco bank for reversal and now I feel stock and don't know what to do. Since when did money start hanging and where exactly is it hanging or in whose . Now I and the boy are confused the next step to take. And beside I feel ECO Bank is on the verge of shutting down.

It seems good times are gradually coming back to Nigeria if the banking sector can do this…
Over 1000 staff promoted based on merit by just one bank!!!. We have had enough of negative stories coming from the banking sector; may this new picture never change.

Sluganmorris:
Dear Nairalands in the House,

There's a Arrangement going on in the bank right now whereby, very soon everybody will stop saving money in the Bank.

A friend of mine went to bank to withdrawing 4 thousand naira from his personal and he was told by the bank to wait for some hours, before you know it. The bank had already called the police to arrest my guy, they now says that his personal was flagged. They kept him in the cell for 3 days before he was transferred to EFCC office in Benin. They told him that his was placed on fraudulent. And these is a friend that never involve in such act because I know him too well. He was detained in Asaba police station for 4 days before he was transferred to Benin EFCC office. To my greatest suprise, they said the crime was committed in Lagos now they granted him billout at Benin with a level 14 civil servant. The EFCC are putting it on him to agree a crime he didn't commit and they never allowed him to make any call. During this problem, they seized phone forcing him to agree to pay amount of money forced to him. After said and done, he was referred to EFCC Abuja where they will give him the numbers to pay. Meanwhile, they keep pushing him up and down. The question now is, who is he paying this money forced on him to? The government or ghost? So Ecobank and UBA bank together with diamond bank are seriously running some shit with people's of which we don't seems to understand? Or they are setting people's up with there funds which we don't understand? Very soon we all will stop Saving money in the bank. This bank and EFCC fraudulent activates has to stop. This problem is currently going on here in Nigeria. If the bank call the police to arrest you, they will not give you any chance for you to communicate with your lawyer. The next thing is that, Olga you're case is EFCC case, if you're a 419 you will run away leaving your funds to the bank if not they will find one aligation to place on your head. What is this country turning to?

For the spare parts seller here on Nairaland, when you don't understand something you ask questions.Optimization means they will collapses the closed branches into the nearest ones, especially where they are paying high rents and relocate the staffs to other branches where there is shortage of human resources to enable better service delivery.
Some branches are on the same street or building due to the merger with old Oceanic Bank, besides electronic banking is what they are aiming at and not all these one, people that have not bath for days will come and be queuing up to withdraw 500 Naira like we find in Diamond Bank, First Bank & Wema Bank of the Afonjas.
Ecobank have said they want to use their 2016 profit after tax to clean or reduce their loan impaired losses from the days of Oceanic Bank, which is good for the bank instead of rolling over the losses and continue to declare paper profits like UBA,GTB,Zenith etc. They have simply made provisions for toxic asset, only informed people will know this and not all this Amala & ewedu dealers in isale Eko or Chinedu selling okirika sandals in Vespa.

Many thanks "PoliticalWatch" these people do not understand, the bank isnt closing and they are not laying off any staff. Ecobank is one of the Strategic important Banks and they have made full loans provision assuring shareholders of robust future earnings. so why would you guyz start making panic rumours which is not true.

mikkytrio:
Good day Nairalanders,

The intent of my post is not to insult or embarrass any person or group of persons, but to enlighten you on a situation I feel is worth sharing.
FEB 1st 2017 I was credited by a Bank's ATM, whilst I never was paid. I complained on that same day to the customer care representatives of my bank (ECO - BANK) on-line, they promised to return the funds within 5 - 7 working days.

Today happens to be the 8th working day, 12 days away from the reported date and all I can get from Eco bank is to give them more 48 hours to resolve the issue. I tried calling the customer care number +234700 500 0000, but to my surprise after lodging my complaint they totally have barred all my calls.

The money might be little and not of much value to a lot of people, but please, can someone point me to an authority that looks into such?

I can only but imagine how many people / families suffer such maltreatment, and wish to ask that we figure out a way to curb such rot.

Yea, try that their WhatsApp line 08087603717 or call their number 01-2260450. That should work too...

Following the growing rate of dissatisfied salary earners especially the bankers(cashiers) that spend long hours almost on a daily basis on their duty post and a high number of impatient customers that besiege the banking hall. Many unpleasant experiences has been said of by one staff of a bank or the other.
To your rating and experience which among the banks do you think is the major culprits?

Please I need ur advice on how to retrieve my money 18 thousand naira from Ecobank.
It happened on 6th of this month when I used their *326# Eco mobile money transfer platform to send money to my brother.
The transaction didn't go through, yet the 18k was debited from my balance. I have been at the bank twice, Omida Abeokuta to be specific to complain but nothing has been done. What actually prompted this my proactive measure coming to nairaland platform to seek advice is that the body language at the customer service isn't encouraging and if I'm not aggressive enough I may forfeit my money.
I'm still waiting, giving them the grace of a few days though before taking action. I don't understand why a bank will just mess up with what has sweated to earn.
However, please I still need ur advice on what to do if they still don't revert my money after this hopeful wait.
Is their any superior Ecobank customer complaint service to forward my issue to or a CBN platform to lodge complaints?
Please help a brother.
The nature of my job even doesn't give time for regular visits to d bank to disturb them at the customer service.
I don't mind personal mails to [email protected].
Thanks
