*A GRADUATE LIKE ME....* _Bro Luke Abacha Greetings potential minds! Can we pulse and ponder on this thread, " a graduate like me"? This has caused a jeopardy to some and to some, it has made life miserable to some extent. This is always a response of almost every fresh graduates to some people and to some opportunities. Permit me to say that this is a killer disease, how? Yeah , it doesn't mean that our right should be encroached or denied in the name of seeking opportunity but maturity and wisdom should always play a role. Many of us may not let opportunity through us because of our mentality towards our personalities. Many of us are always ready to backfire at the labour market. Many of us always undermine a little job that can lift us in a matter of time. We don't know that Starting is a process of getting ahead. Many of us find it difficult to work under someone and get paid. After all, is he/she not a secondary school cert holder? How can a degree holder be calling sir/ madam under this calibre? For a meaningful manageable work, we can lose it because of our attitude and mentality of "I'm a graduate" Many cannot even hustle or hawk to even be self relied as we want to be a master of ourselves. Many of us see it as a work of low-class people. Many of us cannot grab opportunity easily but wait to earn in a million job before we start. Make an effort. Grab every opportunity that comes your way. Nigeria is not a country to brag with degree or number of certificates. What they understand now in Nigeria is "How much?" Is he the owner of that flashy car? They may not even to ask if he went to primary school. Nigeria is a country that values corrupt acts than Education which is the best legacy. But gone are the days of this notion, "education is the best legacy" Nobody is ready to hear bombastic grammar. There's a level you will even speak and they may try to attack you self. "Oga, that one nah grammar ooo" I speak out of experience. I have been into a petty business. But I hardly speak correct grammar when I want to make much sales. "Na pidgin I go use wire you weller" The person can now understand me better and be more convinced and I will make my sales heavily. I can only speak correct grammar to some selected people I know that they need or they think I'm just an ordinary hustler. I will just speak the grammar and you might even be magically convinced and agreed to my price. And I made my sales. Most times, nah smartness no be by English wey we fit speak. Many of us cannot work under some CEOs of a petty business because of our attitude, words and mentality. "This woman always talk to me as if I'm a kid, a B. Sc holder!" And you might not cope with the person and you move to the other places. But , a rolling stone gathers no mos. You keep moving, jumping from pillar to post untill they will tag you. When you're in Rome, you do like the Romans. Forget about your certificates and get your need. Calm down and learn and get yourself balanced. You can learn under a first school leaving cert holder, just get the information and establish yourself. Besides, Nigeria is not a western world where you can start a vocational and professional education at the secondary school level. And before you will be done with the higher studies, you can be self relied and can produce anything by yourself and earn a living. We only have more of the theoritical aspects than the practical aspects here in Nigeria universities because those in power are not showing much interest in Education and they have no interest in it at all! Can we boast or rely on the NYSC allowance? They are even planning to reduce the 33k now sef. How can this sustain you for three weeks sef? It pays to be patient as we are moving into the world. Grab every good opportunity. Show respect and be humble to anyone irrespective of his or her educational qualification. It doesn't mean that your four year journey is in vain but to make use of it wisely in a proper way Above all, pray and know that God provides for us! May God continue to be with us and provide for us! Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our life and shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever. We shall not lack in the name of Jesus, Amen! |

Glory be to God almighty! May the perpetrators be totally converted and let them know that they're in the pit of hell for such heinous act. Lord, open their eyes that they may see, open their minds that they may understand that they need you most in their lives for survival and not by killing and kidnapping |

STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT,ALEX EKWUEME FEDERAL UNIVERSITY NDUFU ALIKE IKWO, EBONYI STATE! 9 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO FG TO END ASUU STRIKE! We bring Calvary greetings to all our leaders. It's with dismay that we write to create awareness to the Federal government of Nigeria that we are so much incommoded over this lingering Strike by Academic Staff Union of University which started as a one month warning strike by February 14,2022 but still on till this time of compiling this message. We totally frowned at this because, our future is now toyed with. Since then, the FG has not shown any act of care for us students and youths, leaders of tommorow to make sure they negotiate with our striking lecturers and meet their demands. We need true democracy to be practiced to its extreme this time. You don't consider the plights of students staying at home for this long. Some are idle and an idle man is a devil's workshop they say. This strike is a means of promoting social vices, illegal behaviors, civil unrest and as such might even result to anarchy and doom in our dear nation. We therefore with one voice urge the Federal government to resolve the issues concerning this strike within this 9 day ultimatum and make sure we students are back to our campuses to continue our studies. In tandem with the directives of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), we want to state categorically that if this ultimatum is not listened to,we are going to storm with vigor on every federal roads in Ebonyi State on 25th May, 2022 and protest, cause a blockage in such a way that there will be no movement in those federal roads. This is to show that we are not happy with the lingering of this strike. We're not happy. We are provoked! Settle our lecturers, resolve the issues of this strike and let us be back for our studies! GREAT NIGERIA STUDENTS.... GREAT! ALUTA CONTINUA.... VICTORIA ASCERTIA! Signed, Comr. Prince Jerry Okafor (President, SUG AE Funai) Omoyibo Nelson (Secretary, SUG AE Funai) ✍️✍️✍️ Luke Abacha (Director of Information, SUG AE Funai) |

I don't really understand his stand as a minister in tackling issues partaining to education as that should be his primary work but I see him doing the opposite. God will help us. 1 Like |

*STOP PLAYING WITH OUR FUTURE! I write with dismay to express my feelings over this prolonged strike. The Federal government has failed us(students) in the education sector. There is a term in chemistry called Hygroscopy. It is a phenomenon where by a substance when exposed to the atmosphere absorb water vapor without forming a solution or dissolving in it. Permit me to connotatively by this definition opine that we(Nigerian students) are Hygroscopic nowadays. We are sent to school to absorb vapor (acquire knowledge) but we are unable to form solutions. This is due to the nature and the level of standards placed in education by our leaders. Going to tertiary institutions now is like jump and . Gone are the days, education is productive. Graduate upon graduation may not be mastery in his/her program or field of study. Will you blame us? No! There is no availability of good/enough facility in our tertiary institutions. No functional apparatus in many institutions in Nigeria now. No quality lab for research and many experimental works. And amidst all these defects, there have been a quagmire over three months now even since 1999. ASUU strike is now like a periodic event. Are we to blame the striking lecturers ? No! Our lecturers are fighting against present and future nightmare that may rock and as well deteriorate our school system especially the tertiary institutions. There will be a deleterious aftermath on our own side if our lecturers do not stand to curb this. We are now spending about 6yrs in a 4-year course due to this prolonged strike beginning from even our year of ission. The new vocabulary that every University fresher will first get acquainted with now is *ASUU strike* ASUU gave a one month warning strike by February 14th,2022 and up to now the FG has not shown willingness to listen to them or negotiate with them and solve the problem once and for all to avoid all this "Everytime, ASUU strike" We the students totally frown at this because we are at the loosing end and as such is a jeopardy on our side. We ask that the FG should resolve this issue before the expiration of this extra two months warning strike by May 14 to help us get back to our studies The more the strike enlongates, the increase in crime rate. This strike is a means of promoting social vices because an idle man is a devil's workshop. Some students may go into sorts of crime ranging from cybercrime, robbery, civil unrest and as such bringing anarchy into rule in our country. We urge that FG should hearken unto us her children and ensure that democracy is well defined by resolving the issues of strike be it IPPIS vs UTAS, Earned Academic Allowances, in fact, whatever be the issues let all be resolved before May 14th 2022. We are tired of staying at home waiting for resumption. There is no government without her people. I doubt if the definition of democracy according to Abraham Lincoln is still in place "Government of the people by the people and for the people" We students are the people. If we can't gain other dividends of democracy, let calling off of this strike be ours now! WE ARE NOT HAPPY! Settle our lecturers and resolve issues concerning strike! *Help us now, help our future* _Signed,_ Bro Luke Abacha *(DOI, AE FUNAI SUG)* 1 Like |
