Always, Always Check Your Bets I do not know any in-play punter that has not, at some point, accidentally put in the wrong bet. The matches are fast moving and you have to make many quick decisions and while you are doing this the odds can often be moving against you. This can all conspire to create panic for even the most cool headed people. It is very easy to just quickly enter and confirm the wrong bets but in some scenarios it can be very costly. I know of someone who usually keys in bets with a stake of N10000 when trading football in-play. However, one day he accidentally keyed in N100000 and did not even realise until the match was over and he noticed a strange 4 figure loss on his . It could easily have gone the other way but sods law will always dictate it doesn’t! Take that extra second to confirm the bets you are placing it might save you more in the long run! |

Why use in-play betting? In play betting allows the bettor the opportunity to bet with more evidence than they had at the start of an event, hence they are more informed before they place a bet. For example, you may a team who you think has a good chance of winning a match but you are not sure. So you hold off betting before the match and wait to see how the first quarter goes. How are your team playing? What are the tactics like? Have the opposition done what you expected? Is the referee as strict as you thought? All questions the bettor can ask whilst watching a match. Then after they have assimilated the information, the bettor can place a more informed bet. But In play betting also allows you to change your mind. You may place a bet before the event but then whilst watching the event you may realise things aren't going your way, and put another bet on to redeem the situation. |
