The Ooni of Ife, H.R.H Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) took to his official facebook handle with a message on the Yoruba Isese festival of Olókun.
"Today, I honour and pay obeisance to Olokun, the deity of wealth and salt alongside millions of Oduduwa descendants as we celebrate the Olokun festival. We must keep up with the magnificent age-old tradition that our forefathers bequeathed to us, safeguarding the historical, social, spiritual, and predominant modern values of the deity of Olokun. Indeed, she is the embodiment of boundless seasoning, purity, and faithfulness.
_
As embodied knowledge, Olokun is both a historical source of life and a deity associated with wealth, prosperity, and abundance. She is a symbol of infinity and abundance. All the bodies of water agreed to flow to the goodness of the sea, and Olokun personifies their prominence and remains the headship of them all. We must that the supreme owner of the universe is God Almighty who created all and we must continue to honour all the works of his hands. Incontrovertibly, that’s our ultimate creed from the source of mankind, Ile-Ife.
_
The Olokun festival commemorates the bond that exists between us and our forefathers. The celebration serves as a reminder of our forefathers' sacrifices, ancient contributions, and realities that we inherited from them. It therefore endears us to share in their vision, immortalize their history, celebrate our ancestors' accomplishments, and record their previous challenges for the generations ahead.
_
As Arole Oduduwa, I use the great fortune of this day to pray for abundance for you in all the essence of life that comes from Olokun. May your silent prayers and sincere aspirations be granted. Happy Olokun festival."

While the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to issue nomination forms to many of its presidential aspirants ahead of the primaries, many of the aspirants have yet to receive the kind of nationwide that Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello is receiving.
On Saturday, the last day of April, it was a zonal movement in Nigeria's Eastern region as Igbo Youths from five states gathered in the heart of Imo State to match in solidarity for Bello, making bold that the people have agreed to the presidential ambition of Gov. Yahaya Bello over many others.
The from the East, as well as several other movements across the country, including the governor's homecoming, which drew a large crowd from several northern states, may indicate that the APC now has the most popular candidate it could consider running for president with its ticket.
According to reports, the Igbos prefer Bello for a variety of reasons, including proximity, religious performance, tribe unification, and competency. These characteristics, as well as many others that distinguish the governor, appear to be lacking in every other APC candidate.
As the party prepares for presidential primaries, it is very likely Yahaya Bello may emerge as the flag bearer considering his bloc North Central votes, massive South East he has gained by playing pivotal roles in South East APC elections, North West and North East as well. While many aspirants of the south west and south south region justle for delegate , Yahaya Bello remains the only North Central and northern candidate, for now. These calculations made by many is most likely to become the outcome of APC's presidential primaries.
All these could also be attributed to the Gov. Bello is receiving from the leadership ahead. Indeed, the party faces interesting times ahead, but it is clear that Bello is in the lead.
