Good day all.
A lot of children have been falling sick this period and women keep saying it's the weather
I don't know if it's just my state, cos I live in Abuja or if it's a nation wide thing.

The two general hospitals near me in bwari and kubwa are crowded with sick children on ission and there is no bed space left. This month alone my 2 year old fell ill twice with temperature, vomiting and coughing.
People keep saying it's the weather responsible for the sickness but me I don't understand.

How is the weather making children sick? Its not too hot here or too cold so how is it the weather exactly?
Or is there a spread of flu or something else we do not know of? I was thinking it's my babys creche not taking proper care of him that's why he was falling sick but the overcrowded hospitals is making me have a rethink.
Has Anyone heard any concrete reason about the many children falling sick these days?
Right now, my DD is on ission and she took the rotavirus vaccine. Beside my DD bed is a child that has been on ission since Monday yet, no improvement. He's stooling like a running tap and vomitting through his nose and mouth but my DD case isn't serious like the boy's own. Was thinking it's this Abuja weather too o

Hmmmmnn, artificial eyes?
Dunno why I feel the man lied but I don't know.

This is so sad, i don't what gain from giving rubbish advice to new mums. Imagine contaminating the circumcision site daily with breastmilk, the cut would probably develop an infection, and lemme not say what could happen after that.
I'm telling you. Everyone becomes a specialist and Dr once a woman gives birth. That's how my neighbor told me to use BM on my DD eye because it had a red spot at birth and I outrightly told her a big no. Funny enough, she just has one child o and she was busy dishing out DOs and don'ts to me. The red spot cleared on its own. May God help us all.

Yes, that was what the father of the child told us and that the child makes do with artificial eyes now.

My sisters please help ooo.

I need a little clarification.

1. I want to know if it's true that dropping breastmilk on a baby's eyes makes the eyes white and guards against infections.
NB: Baby's eyes has no problem.

2. Also, how true is it that dropping breast milk on a baby's circumcised penis will make it heal fast.

Mother -in-law feels it's the best and I have to do it.

Please advice
1. Please don't... My hubby's colleague wife gave birth to twins, boy and girl and the boy had eye issues, she was advised to put breast milk in his eyes, she did and that was the end of the boy's eye as it was badly damaged that they had to remove it...
Take baby to hospital if need be please.

Good day Sabi Mama's, please ooh is taking cold water good for a pregnant woman, especially this period that the weather is really hot, my colleagues at work, are always talking anytime I take cold water, that's it's not good for the baby... And the cold water really calms me down especially during this hot weather.
Hi mama, feel free to drink your cold water. It goes into your stomach and baby isn't located there. I ate ice all through my pregnancy and had a very wonderful and healthy baby.

Tatacherie, I am sincerely short of words.
I dreaming about someone assaulting my daughter few weeks back and I know how I woke up feeling and reading about this now makes me feel like I should home school my daughter and make her my hand bag. This is every mothers nightmare sincerely.
Do as the other mama said about telling her a story so she could feel free to tell you who did it. Be strong for you, her and the family. My prayers are with you.....

PS: don't forget to give that person an everlasting injury before he/she faces the wrath of the law

1. I don't have an idea cos i did mixed feeding.

2. BM gives my baby rashes too. It gives my friends baby eczema. Wipe once u notice breastmilk on her face.
Thanks mama Rbae. We now have plenty rash on the face and it's making her look dark. Wishing I had super powers to clear it and give her, the smooth face she came out with.
zaynie:

1. Probably something you ate.
The poop thickens as they grow older but since you are ebf, constipation is out of the way.
But be sure no one is sneaking food for her.

2. Use wet wipes to wipe her face before it dries. My kids get rashes on their neck if bm splashes on it. Dried bm can be quite glue-ey
Thanks mama Zaynie.
rvpbae:

Poop is supposed to smell, the change could be as a result of something you ate. I don't think it is something to worry about.

Since you know the cause of the rash, try to clean with wipes after feeding, that's what I did then. In my opinion, tiny face rashes are quite common in babies and would clear off, stop the tribotan and no need for cacatin. I never used cacatin sef, i don't know what it looks like.
Thanks mama.
Giddyperson:

I don't think there's anything wrong with smelly poop. My baby was EBF too and his poop always smells really bad tho he hardly poops.

For the rash, you should clean his face with a wet face towel whenever breastmilk touches it and you can use a little Agnesia powder on the rash or just ignore it. I don't think there's any need for medication.

Good morning mothers.
1.My 2months old baby poop this morning and it was smelling. She's on exclusive breastfeeding. She also poop once a day and this is the first time it smells like this and it had some thick one inside it as if it was moulded and the rest was normal yellow. Is this normal? Because I have been worried o
2. Whenever breast milk touches her face, she reacts with things like pimples on her face. How do I prevent this from happening? I also use tribotan yet, it doesn't clear it and someone told me to use cacatin. Can I use cacatin for her? Cc zaynie, Giddyperson, hunniesuzie, FloraEC, rvpbae, rbae and other mamas.

November mamas please help me. Anytime I see my stomach I’m always crying. I wasn’t expecting this at all. Despite rubbing everything and I thought I wouldn’t have coz my mother never had one . It keeps getting darker and bigger. I really hate myself right now. I don’t want to look disfigured just after one child...

I just feel like I may not love my baby if my body gets disfigured... I don’t see this as a big badge the way other moms claim they see theirs. These disgust me a lot and make me so sad. I’ve always been so body conscious of myself and I’ve loved my body but this is just the height .
Hahahaha please don't be offended that I'm laughing o I just ed me. I nearly went into depression because of stretch marks because I was slim, team flat and adorable tummy before I took in but right now, they're all going away 9weeks after delivery.
Don't worry dear after you birth baby, you'll be too occupied to bother about it and by the time you , it'll have cleared. Allow body to stretch in order for baby to have enough space.

your trying to create fear on people is wrong too, it happened to you,is not for all,I believe everything God created is good, that nothing he created will harm me or my children, this ma is when I stand and nothing will prevail against it.
Yes my dear, you're right. Everything God created is good for you and your baby and as such, you can give your new born immediately he/she comes out of the womb EBA with hot egusi mixed with ogbonno soup that has plenty pepper and don't forget to add chilled bottle of Stout to wash it down for the baby..
They've all been telling you not to advice someone to give infant something that's not good for the digestive system yet, you've been arguing saying it's your belief. Sometimes, it's best to learn what you don't know rather than argue and bring "God or belief" into it...
