Not a lot of Alonso fans here but he wasnt particularly to blame for those goals. although he had a stinker, along side Azpi (Oh yes, surprisingly and perhaps he was sick? as seen with the pills he took during the match). Perhaps our defense isnt that great and has just been 'lucky' due to the amount of numbers we have defending when we dont have the ball. That luck ran out yesterday.

We were no match for Spurs defensively and our attack could not break them down. They have the perfect players to play wing backs, Rose and Walker have the pace, defensive and offensive ability for that role as compared to our options of Moses (who has been doing okay but his defensive understanding was put to test yesterday and found wanting) and Alonso who has been listed by several as the weaklink. The battle of the wings was won by the spurs men!

Our midfield was also bossed with our best Kante being tossed around by Wanyama(beast) and Dembele (Intelligence) who were a formidable partnership. Midfield was won by the both of them

On another day, We needed just 1 chance to score and Costa was not clinical, Hazard was not at his best and Pedro was closed down so much he could not magic out anything all game. We had some chances and we could have scored.

Overall we had a bad game not necessarilly because the opposition was better, but because we had a bad game and perhaps the pressure of settin the record got to us. Lets not quickly forget how these guys came back versus Spurs, City and waltzed past United when the whole world wrote us off. Its just a bad game in 14! I am sure conte will be telling the team this and not to overthink this defeat.

The season so far. . . .

We are in a good place right now but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. It's 3-4 points and all that can change in a matter a game or two.

A lot of us here have mentioned our obvious weakness on the left area of the pitch and its no surprise Pep attacked that side more and more. At a point, Silva was playing an AM role and city kind of had more on the right side of their attack which eventually brought about their goal.

Saturday's game was lucky for us and another day we could have lost it if city had decisions their way (Thank Goodness the ref was on point)

Then again, Its good to be lucky this time around having suffered last season.
