Hello Lady G. I hope it’s okay if I ask a few questions. I have a friend who is Nigerian studying in the Caribbean. She wants to apply for visit visa to visit the us for 2 weeks during her break. What are the chances of her getting the visa as she’ll be applying from there and not Nigeria. She’s 26, single and her parents are sponsoring her education.

I have never and will never comment on chances.

I will however advice either she or you to read the thread. And weigh her options based on the statistics she sees here. Information is King and key. However, the proper thing is to apply from where one has ties. I suppose her ties are in the Caribbean now. It is now for a visa officer to determine if it's sufficient.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’m not comfortable with the extension of visa thing. Is your sister sick or incapacitated? Why does your mom has to stay with her for a whole year? To help her take care of her newborn?

I think the extension of stay thing might cost your mom her visa during renewal. Except your sister has a life threatening illness that makes her incapable of taking care of her child, her husband’s deployment is not enough reason for an extension of your mom’s visa. That’s just my opinion thought, and I might be wrong. Just putting this out there.

If you want to leave this country, then this is the wrong thread sir. This thread is for B visas, aka visit and return visa.

You should explore the other threads or research other US visas that allow for relocation legally or other countries.
Finally. If you wish to get a B visa and abscond with it, it is illegal and you cannot be offered advice on how to commit a crime here.

I did drop box in August and was advised to schedule a follow-up interview, which i did and got a date for January 7th, 2019.
I recently got a mail that my appointment has been rescheduled for Nov. 10, 2018.
Please has anyone had such experience here

yes. I know several folks in that situation. I think that day was free and they bulk rescheduled. No biggie in my view

I filled my Ds160 form and my departure date was Sept 2018 but I was denied via Drop box, I was told to book another appointment online and appear for an interview but I couldn't due to work load so I changed my departure date to April 3,2019 on the Ds160 but the interview date now is April 4.What can I do? Can I change the departure date again on my ds160 form even though I have booked my appointment?Secondly,i noticed the Ds160 confirmation number that was given to me in the form I filled in September is still the one showing on my appointment letter. Hope it's doesn't matter? Urgent Pls!!!!

Between now and April 4 is loads of time.
Fill a brand new form. Write to the embassy to update they with your profile.
That should sort the second issue. And yes it matters if the day 160 u wish to use is different from that on your letter

My dear. Don't be quick to jump on. Read my posts . I mean post in plural. I don't have any issue with asking questions. That's why I and Several others have been here for over.... Several years.

I have been saying it and I'm still saying it. Some questions need research and " what is your opinion? " and "what are my chances? " solve nothing.

There's a reason why the "silent readers" have a higher percentage of success. They read. Take notes. Weigh all their options and throw out chaff.

There are questions that are a bit different and special... And also There are some answers that evolve . Like the fellow that asked about visa reissuance without using it. Before, it wasn't an issue. Now it is. But guess what? A quick scan of like 10-20 pages would have answered the question and give the seeker more depth cos he would be seeing live transcripts and not answers from guessers and folks that have no visas. Then there are the common questions that are literally on every page.

Yes. I applaud everyone that has time to answer questions. But I ask u: Have you ever been lost and misled by "kind Samaritans " who directed you? Meanwhile you could have used Google Map.

So if you didn't get it. I'll break it down for you. I stand by my opinion, folks should always seek the best source of info.

She is married as a second wife with three children planning to travel to US on tourist with the children, while the husband already have a US visa, he has being traveling but d record he has with d embassy is with d first wife with her nos of children, and now d husband agent is advising my friend not to include d husband name as married in other not to complicate issues with the record he already has at d US Embassy. My friend should claim widow and her children were legally adopted by her late hubby brother who happened to be her husband since he is going to be the primary sponsor of the journey. She will go to the embassy with d husband statement of and his port data page with all legal paper as a Legal guidance to she and the children.
Pls is this plan okay, if NO what other method can she use in order for her to have a successful interview wen applying for US visa. She has traveling experience already...Thanks

The US embassy is aware of our shitty traditions. Men marry second wives. Is it a crime? Yes. Bigamy is but who has prosecuted?

The issue you should be asking is, how does the situation pan out tie wise.
if they are Muslim its OK and she will be considered married and hence they will count as ties.

If they are Christians, then the "marriage " is a weak tie if is even to be considered as such.
However, the fact remains. she is inexorably tied to this fellow and if married to him under customary law, is well...married and not mentioning that would be misresentation.
Not judging but if she s OK with being a second wife and having kids, why should it be a secret?!
