I bought Spectranet Turbo Router today at 69k in Lagos but the speed is annoyingly too slow. Please what can I do to achieve the normal speed cos I’m getting mad over the whole stuff. How can I spend 69k and I can’t still browse. My normal Airtel line get as high as 170 mbps while this Spectranet router gets 5.3 mbps.

Bandwidth is mostly a measure of your isp(sure there are other factors like access point distance, router tx speed, receiving device speed etc) the spectranet plan you are subscribed to determines the amount of bandwidth allocated to you. From personal testing the fastest is Spectra-on air and spectra-fibre and it tops out at 50mbps, costs 179,850 to put up. If you’re in Lagos the fastest ISPs are IPNX, FibreOne and Starlink. MTN 5G is a close 4th but I don’t like to compare mobile networks with broadband networks. Btw even my spectranet Evo mifi gets better downstream speed than 5.3mbps, so it’s very possible your location is playing a role in why your speed is bad as well.

I don’t know about the hype but I use an iPhone, an old one at that, but I don’t really have any complaints except the ones I created myself i.e battery health, cracked screen etc. the phone just works….i mean come on, my 7 year old device is on the latest iOS 18 update and I can still play my Cod mobile smoothly, mind you I’ve used this device for 3 and a half years…also never repaired or changed anything about it except the charging cord(multiple times).

I have an issue at hand
I currently have two batteries on ground for my solar installation but I want to get two more for backup.
Someone is offering to sell 2 new starplus tubular batteries for me at the rate of 200k each that's 400k for the two below market value of about 500k for the two.

I'm very sceptical of the batteries so I asked for payment on delivery and he accepted to further prove his genuineness.

I was afraid that they might be substandard and I reached out to starplus official page and they said their products don't have fake or substandard in the market.

I am very sceptical because the price he's giving me is far below market value....but he's even accepted payment on delivery with even unboxing before payment.

I need Una advise o , should I go ahead

Call your inverter engineer to help inspect the batteries on the day of delivery…can’t hurt to have a more experienced set of eyes present. At the end tip him 5k for either saving you from loosing 400k or giving you peace of mind while saving 100k. That way it’s a win - win situation, goodluck!

If u are not using a Samsung phone, then your phone is not truly smart!.

Mehn, d ruggedness, dopeness and sleekness of Samsungs is 2nd to none.

Though a lot may complain about their screens and parts being expensive but, it worth every penny spent on it!.

The kind of water, fall and ruggedness that my Samsungs has survived is out of this world!.

There’s nothing wrong with a network locked phone as long as you have a second phone that you can use for making calls…..I’ve used multiple network locked iPhones, I use them for gaming and socials mostly and I have another phone I use for work and making calls….the only con that I’ve found is, I have to always carry a second phone if I want to make calls, or carry a mifi along with my Locked device. But then my locked device battery life lasts a lot longer than normal phones cos it’s always only on Wi-Fi. Goodluck in whatever choice you make 👍

WhatsApp is a US company….if your device ID is huawei you’ll get banned cos Chinese phone makers like huawei are banned from using any US software or hardware export on their devices

Don’t listen to that XS max gets hot story…the only time my XSmax gets hot is when I’m playing Call of duty on mobile data.
It doesn’t get hot during charging and it certainly doesn’t during the day….my battery drains faster compared to other max devices and iOS 17 is the last update for this phone generation. Asides from that it’s a stellar device, just make sure you get from a reputable buyer, not one that has been opened multiple times by Nigerian phone repairers
