PHD ing or Finance is very competitive in the US.Almost all schools requires GMAT/GRE score,most PHD ing/Finance/Mgt comes with full funding so you dont have to bother whether the school is expensive or not because it comes with full funding.Having said that ,there is a school that may waive GMAT/GRE for you but full funding may not be guarantee-New york state university,university at Buffalo

Since you're getting these offers your profile must be strong. Have you considered applying for a regular Masters degree rather than an MBA? It might be easier to get full funding that way. Just my thoughts.

My people,am in a dilemma right now making a decision between commencing my Msc ing in University of Lagos or University of Portharcourt.

I have just been transferred to Portharcourt by the company i work,this happened after i have already bought my PG form and also sat for the Uni-lag PG Entrance exam which luckily i have been offered ission.I also bought Uni-port entrance exam and forwarded my transcript which is the basis for PG ission there as no entrance exam will be conducted,the sale of the PG form for uni-port has just come to an end and there are high probability of getting ission there too.

The crux of the matter is the movement from PH to Lag which will cost lot of money either by flight or by road(and inconvenience though i will only attend lectures once a month if i choose Uni-lag. Let me add my office expects me to visit Lagos for official assignment once in two months to spend a minimum of 4 days.

Please folks what do you advise me to do,Uni-lag is organise to an extent,uni-port i heard had a very funny PG School and they have prolong academic calendar.

2.2 is not a bad Grade for a graduate i must say,although there are some high paying jobs that requires you get a minimum of 2.1 an example is some Nigerian Banks and Big Audit firms.I think as a graduate what you have graduated with cant be changed what you can influence is your professional life,try and look for a professional exams that is in line with your chosen field and go for it,would be employers these days look for how well you have improved and invested on yourself.

I graduated with a 2.1 from Unilorin and these has not really given me any added advantage but i went on to enroll for ICAN and am now an Assiciate Chartered ant,this has added more value to me than the so called 2.1.

For undergraduates strike hard to get a 2.1 so you can take advantage of opportunites coming from oil firms,Big audit firms(KPMG,PWC etc) and banks.

I actually benifited from the NYSC scheme,like every prospective corp member i wanted to serve in a place flowing with milk and honey but when the call-up letter came up i was posted to Kaduna state,i was favoured and did my primary assignment in the bank,then Oceanic bank and eventually was retained along side many other corpers that served with the bank.
