1. It's DS -160 not DS-120. She could not get you a date and i don't think she can because 6- months is much if she really has a magic to offer. Although, she might have tried her best by using the reschedule option, or failed emergency request but that is now past story.

2. For the new website, you do not have to create any profile until you receive the introduction email from the embassy, so she is right. If you go ahead to create another profile on the new website , you won't be able to move further except you are ready to pay another MRV (visa fee), and by creating a new profile means , you now have a double profile with the USA embassy. In all, your old appointment and VISA fee payment is intact. She just lied to you in order to discourage you from opening another profile , which is the best idea she can use.

PS: Wait for the introduction email from the embassy. It applies to everyone. It's an idea from the embassy to make all VISA applicants wait for their turn.

Not 100%, but I don't think this is something to even bother about. Just keep an estimate of the tax somewhere. When HMRC recalculates, they'll take back their money if you owe them.

I got them as part of my contract initially. I had a few devices that i needed to be wired in, so I requested them as part of my initial setup, then called them that I still had connectivity issues a short while later and then sent another one. I'd say just ring them and make a request.

All the exams are basically the same thing, they're testing for similar aptitude for/in English so you're going to be having similar difficulty levels in both, however, as someone who has taken the IELTS more than once for different purposes, I'll say do a lot of practice before taking the exams. It's not hard, but you need to be aware of how the questions are formatted and how the style changes from stage to stage.
