2. not recommended
3. not set
4. Stepped down

Below is detailed analysis of the remarks;

Recommended:
Recommended mean you will definitely make the list. It might be first or second list but certainly your ission is guaranteed.

Not recommended
Not recommended means you didnt meet the cut-off marks set for your department, it
does not mean you will not make the list but your chances are quite slim. Most people that were not recommended last
year still end up making the second list and
even very few made the first list.

Not set
your departmental cut off is not set yet. not
yet certain weather you are recommended or not recommended. For this category I will advised that you hold on for sometime and then check the list again.

Stepped Down
This remark is quite new and am still yet to
figure out what it means. By Monday I would have had things sorted out also get this post updated. You might want to reload this post to see if it has been updated some other time.

Let me give u a sympathetic scenerio...

Take for instance someone studied ing and graduated wt a "lower" feeling very bad nd depressd. Then wants to go for masters in same course in UI, only to be rejected cos of the "lower" class of degree...

How do you think this person would feel taking up a PGD in his own course?

Ofcourse. Apparently, they wouldn't accept it for such competitive course to cut number of applicants. That doesn't mean other departments won't accept it.

Now ur talking.... So wats the usefulness of 2.2 whn it cant be used in securing one's dreampt career path. "lower" always force its bearer to take up course one has little or no ion for.

With 2.2, u can do MSc directly in any course and school in Nigeria.

In fact, with third class in some courses of top Nigeria schools, u can do MSc directly.

In Unilag, with third class, u can do directly MSc Cell biology, MSc Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management, Master of Environmental Management, MIT, MSc Parasitology, MILR, to mention just a few.

If not d situation of d country, 2.2 is a gud grade.
