Which party would have fared better, had they been elected to govern for the past eight years? In my opinion, judging by their composition, none! Infact they would have taken us back to the IBB era. Events in Eastern Europe has proved that technocrats have been unable fare better and neither have Populists. |

Nigeria is a glorified BANANA REPUBLIC. The Oxford dictionary of idioms, defines banana republic as a term used for small countries that are dependent on a single crop or resource and governed badly by a corrupt elite. World bank figures indicate that between 1960 and now, a whopping $300 billion dollars of oil revenues and about $500 billion of donors' assistance has been looted by our leaders. While Nigeria may not be small by physical and human geographical standards, all other hallmarks that bear semblance to a banana republic are present. 2 Likes |

Anyone who sets himself on a chosen career path wants to get 2 d apex of that career and Atiku is no exception; he simply wants 2 b d president by crook or by force. With the manner of people we have as leaders, what other requirements do we need 2 qualify as a BANANA REPUBLIC?

Amongst our presidential candidates, isn't there a person of integrity, capable and competent 2 lead our nation other than Atiku? Atiku is too tainted and compromised 2 fit that role. While patriotic Nigerians are advocating MORAL RE-GENERATION, you are advocating MORAL DE-GENERATION. With people like u around, It's no suprise that IBB would want 2 be president.

A wrong is a wrong irrespective of who practices it and should not be condoned. Is it the PDP,AD,AC or whoever,it is still unacceptable because this country is bigger than any person or group irrespective of their political persuasions. ![]() |

Change is good if brought about by a change in political ideology, but votes cast 4 a political party should not be taken by an individual or group of persons 2 another party 4 whatever reason. , these votes were cast 4 a party whose ideology that individual or group of persons no longer . It is a common knowledge that at d level of our democracy, votes are usually cast 4 a political party rather 4 d individual. 'Crosstituting' erodes d democratic will of d people by opening d floodgate to political professionalism whereby, d highest bidder gains and d smaller political parties are eroded. A politician who carries constituency along should not b afraid 2 test his popularity by seeking a fresh mandate from d electorates under a new party or as an independent. It is a common knowledge that our self acclaimed messiahs are impostors who will stop at nothing 2 occupy and remain in office. |

Nigeria is a sovereign country, hence it can not be given instruction by some other 'democracy' that stood by and watch over a million people slaughtered in Rwanda or some world body. I read with disgust the sudden upheaval in d 4 Atiku. Nigeria is quite capable of dealing with this dilemma. The writers of d 1999 constitution did not envisage such a dilemma whereby a sitting V.P decamps to another party and still expects 2 keep his office. Since the constitution is silent and there isn't a precedent 2 b guided by, d Nation must b very careful in d course of action we resort 2 take. Atiku has suddently become a hero while Obj is d villain. What have we become, a nation that has no shame? A Obj might b a dictator, Atiku is definitely a CROSSTITUTE and crosstitutes must not be allowed 2 reap d benefits of d office they occupy b4 carpet-crossing. Atiku should do the honourable thing by reg else he'll b thrown out. Carpet crossing should not b encouraged. Nigeria is greater than any individual or group of persons.

D white man is guilty of nothing, except 4 exploiting our greed and contempt 4 each other. It was recently reported that British carriers treat Nigerian engers with utmost contempt. I'll say it serves them right, are there no good African airlines that ply that route? When d black man learns 2 appreciate himself, then he will b appreciated ![]() |
