Please do I need to authenticate the attestation of birth letter from NPC at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja? I want to use it in a school in the US

JohnMorgan:
.

@ewhoma,I am not here to issues with anyone after all myself and my family already have our visas. I am a DV-2013 selectee and has since collected our visas. I am only here to share ideas based on official documents (US Govt Websites) that i read during my own time. I will be posting links to these write ups to help us understand the entire process better.

However, for knowledge sake, it is better we understand how some of these things work. As i stated earlier, National Population Commission (NPC) is a federal government body responsible for the registration of births and deaths in Nigeria - the reason why it exists in the 36 states of the federation. Unfortunately, the body does not have a national database where births and deaths are stored and that is why they rely on sworn affidavit from a competent court of law to issue the attestations. An affidavit is actually sufficient in some cases but the US prefers that we obtain the attestations. NPC will not issue any attestation without an affidavit or declaration of age from a court since they do not have records of birth prior to 1992 when the body was instituted. You can imagine advising someone to travel from Lagos to Adamawa for instance just to obtain an attestation letter that is based on an affidavit already issued by a law court. By all means if you happen to still be around where you were born , go ahead and obtain the attestation there else get it from your current base as this will not harm your application in any way. Please note that you will never be denied a visa for incomplete documentation. At the very worst, the CO will keep your visa till you return with the missing document. You will only be expressly disqualified if you have not complied fully with the DV instructions. No one knows it all and that is the essence of a forum so that people can share ideas.

@all, whatever that is shared on the forum is not final and i will always urge to carry out their own independent investigations of an idea or experience before adopting same.

I rest my case.

Good Luck all.

Hello guys! Please I need your input on this matter. After I applied for a Master's program, a professor reached out to me for an interview. During the interview, he mentioned that there was a research assistantship position if I get in. Shortly after the interview, he emailed me that I have been accepted, and an official acceptance letter would be forwarded to me. The thing is I have received the acceptance letter but it says nothing about funding, I have emailed the prof twice on the funding letter but no response. Please what do I do? 🥺🥺🥺

I also graduated from MAPOLY. The thing is I collected my transcript (both ND and HND) last year. Now that I want to do WES, do I need to pay for another transcript? Or just take the one I already collected to them to help me send to WES.

I am very confused right now. Or do you have any I can call?
IntrovertGuy:

Go the Mapoly block ( Isale grin)

ND - 20k, HND - 20K, Email - 5k, Courier to WES - 13k.

The above were the prices I paid around August last year I think.

You need your WES reference number along side photocopy of your Statement of result.

Which year did you graduate? If your certificate is not ready you'll need to pay 2k (1k for ND, 1K for HND) so they can give you "to whom letter" to replace your diploma certificate because WES will ask.

I thought you've done WES before?

Hi I'm Joy, a freelance email-copywriter in upwork.

Many of us might have heard about Up work and in fact know what is being done there. For those that do not have an idea, here is a short explanation of what we do in up work.

Upwork is simply an online place where freelancers sell their digital skills to earn dollars. Digital skills like; web design, writing, graphic design e.t.c.

Do you have any digital skill Then you can sell those skills and earn in dollars which arrives into your bank in minutes.

Imagine earning $20 to $5,000 for just a gig shocked the good thing is most of this clients will retain you if they are satisfied with your job.

One of the challenges most to-be Freelancers face is getting their upwork approved, which is the first step before you get connected to clients and start earning in dollars.

Do you have a valuable skill that you would love to sell on up work to earn in dollars?

Have you tried creating an up work all by yourself to no avail?

I can help your upwork get approved in 20 minutes... Yes! 20minutes.

Send me a brief straight to the point message to my WhatsApp 0 9 0 9 8 0 8

Don't worry it is affordable (3k)

Hi Joiceee,

Apologies for my late response. Regarding your first question about applying to Stellenbosch with an HND qualification, to be honest, I cannot tell from the top of my head if they will accept HND or not. However, you may please give it a trial. It would cost you absolutely nothing to try. You may also email the department and/or issions team to make a direct inquiry about this.

Secondly, you do not need a SAQA evaluation before applying to the University of Capetown and Stellenbosch University.
Thank you so much

You can lecture in the Polytechnic after getting your PGD and MSC done. If your dream is to become a university lecturer, my dear, you have to enrol for your first degree.
okay! Instead of starting all over again, can I do 2 years HND to BSC conversion program?

sinkhole:
Don't mind that guy!
Please do not waste your time starting over, instead go for your MSc immediately. While doing your MSc, make sure you learn how to make academic publications in reputable international academic journals, do not waste your MSc project by not publishing it. Publications will give you edge over others during interview.
After the MSc try your luck at some institutions. If there is no luck and you have the means, continue to PhD, but make sure you keep publishing even on your own!
please I have HND and I also want to lecture, how do I go about it? Do you advice I do PGD and will I be discriminated in future?

Hit me up if you have any questions regarding Stellenbosch Uni.

NB: I am unable to respond to private messages, so you may just ask your questions here.

Can I apply for MSC in Stellenbosch uni with HND? and is SAQA evaluation compulsory?

You have gone far already, well-done. Everything you need to know about SAQA is on the website I shared earlier; https://www.saqa.org.za/evaluation-foreign-qualifications
please I will like to know how possible it is to apply for MSC with HND and also are there schools in South Africa that its students without SAQA evaluation?

If I am to do evaluation will I also do for my ND result separately?

Thanks in advance for your reply

For those that captured in Ibadan at agodi gate to be precise, I heard they are still attending to those that captured in July 5. How true is this?

when u go for capturing, before the capturing stage they will show you your information on the computer... pls bring this up then firmly that you will like to change it

I dnt know what’s wrong with this prt office you have gone to.
Or ask to see the PCO.
This is absurd.
Or call the customer care lime when you are there
please I need your help. In my port, my place of birth is "Ahiazu" instead of "Ahiazu mbaise" can this be an issue?

Your original documents (birth certificate, certificate of origin) for sighting during interview. I thought your interview date was June 7.

Anyway, be ready for a long day. Ibadan center is no really DIY friendly, everyone there keep saying who is helping you sort your file (including people at servicom) and it always feels like you did something wrong applying online yourself. Coupled with the crowd there (because even those that paid agents had to wait for long, depending on how long your own leg is)

Did my own interview yesterday, got there 7:28am and my file was the last for interview (DIY) at 4:50pm.

It's unlikely you do capturing same day because they keep having spillover (capturing done yesterday was for those that were interviewed on Wednesday). I'm to go for capturing today but I had to shift patients' appointments to today, so, until another good day

PS: An officer told me Fridays and Mondays are super hectic
is it the port office at Agodi gate?
Joiceee(f): 3:56pm On Jul 15, 2021
Duisburg:

Ibadan. No, it's not DIY.
I am also doing my port in Ibadan and I have a there. I was given July 14 as capture date but couldn't go yesterday. I called him to inform him I will be coming tomorrow for capturing and he told me it's not possible that I will have to wait for SMS, that a new law was made today. I am seriously devastated

For people waiting for text message on capturing on a DIY route. Let have patience. If your file don't have issues. You will definitely be text for your capturing. I think that's one of the strategies to distract people from using the DIY route. I submitted my file on June 17 for vetting. I received a message for capturing this evening. If you know you are not needing ur port urgently, you can try the route. My own port will expire by October and I know I don't have any extra money to dash people. That's why I start on time
even people that did not use DIY were asked to wait for date before capturing, I heard its the new law

It is well

Good day sir. Thanks for your reply always. I am about processing my port (DIY) I noticed I need a birth certificate but I don't have any ( I was born in 1995). I went to one of the local government's here in Lagos and I was told they could help Mr do a birth certificate for 2000 naira. Though I saw the NPC logo on it. I want to know if I can make use of this. Please help me!

Photocopy of the data page of my guarantor's port and one port photograph that was affixed on the Guarantor's form. At the Ilorin office by the way although I've heard the guarantor's ID (Nat'l or Drivers license) is required in some other centres but I'm not sure.
