I want to do servicing on my Honder accord 2004 but am not sure wic oil to use either Mobil 1 advance full synthetic 5w-30 for 18k or Mobil super semi synthetic 5w-30 cost 5k. I use forte oil 20w-50 but d exhaust is emanating black smoke so I want to change oil in my next servicing next. Am also considering cost.

Get the mobile 1 advanced full synthetic or if that's too expensive try Castrol 5w20 that's just around 10-12k and it's good to from my experience but please don't use anything lesser or Different

By the way if u check the Cars manual ND the oil top cover the recommended oil 5w20 or so is written there ND that's the only oil u sud pour into ur Car if u like ur Car like I Love Mine

So i thought before I own one...not true sir.

Actually, it does consume more fuel but not excess...based on personal experience, considering average weekly fuel consumption of other cars I own:

2006 Civic 1.8L MT - 3K per week
2008 Civic 1.8L AT - 4K per week
2006 Accord 2.4L AT - 6K per week
2010 Accord 3.5L AT - 7K per week

From above data you can see that the fuel consumption is not alarming.

My V6 accord is equipped with VCM so I get good MPG up to 17 within town and 26 on the highway. See TripB in images below.

I use Honda type2 coolant, DW1, service with synthetic M1 oil and ensure no check engine light (very important to enjoy ECO mode) and I buy fuel from trusted filling stations. I have also installed Honda V-springs recommended for excessive rear pad wear/binding...this slightly improved acceleration and fuel consumption.

In summary, maintenance is key. An abused and poorly maintained car will consume excess fuel.

Decision to stick to I4 or not is yours to make. In my own case I needed to explore the talked about power of a V6 and its been fun so far.

You care for a test drive?

Just seeing something V springs is it something we have to buy like an option or it's on our Car already

Better for you to have gone for a tokunbo knuckle with ball ts on them and save yourself the stress of back and forth

Okay I'll anticipate that in my next change lets say after a Travelling trip or two coz Its looking like I'm already spending too much on that line

Now having two extra fresh looking ball ts removed all in the name of noise while going on rough roads or sometimes bumps

I bought a New Ball t just like a month ago ND both that one ND the Tokunbo I bought for driver side in April started making sounds recently so my mechanic said I needed to change both ND installed some Tokunbo again he said Grade One lols

So now my question is under normal usage plus few travellings how many months or years is a good Honda Ball t suppose to use on Nigeria roads ??

I got this two for 12,000 is that fine??

Does the 2 fan radiator blowers on a camry work at the same time throughout whenever the engine is running?

Normally one is supposed to work while the other resumes either when the AC is turned on or when the engine is kinda Heated maybe in a long journey but in Nigeria once it has been worked upon you begin to see both fans coming on once the engine is On

Lagos- Ibadan trip is no biggie trip. It’s a trip less than 2hrs. I do it 10-20 times a year some times with BMW other times with the Accord and I’ve never had a breakdown despite pushing both cars( I do between 120 to 160km/hr most times on the good areas )
As long as you’ve kept to normal routine maintenance. All u need do is check brake pads, fluid levels(engine, transmission, radiator and windshield fluids), tyre pressure (do not exceed 35 psi check recommended pressure at the Driver’s door frame or owners manual) and buy fuel u are good to go.

Other Safety measures, ensure all lights and warning lights like turn signals are working as they should.
Personally I see Ibadan-Lagos trip as normal city drive cos I will spend less time on the road going from Festac/Magodo to Ajah most times than going from Festac/Magodo to Ibadan.

By the way it’s i4 not v4

Thank you so much I just needed to see this ND I'm Good to Go I've travelled the road several times with different cars but this is going to be my first with my Honda (got it this year ND this will be the first travel but it's been perfect in City Using it with or without AC)

I want to travel from Ibadan To Lagos with my Honda Accord 2006 i4 good working condition so far I've changed my 2 Ball ts, Lower Arm , Absorber, linkages and co within April and now

Do you mean bottom plate(sump), the retains engine oil ?

Between ₦3,000 - ₦7,000

Imagine and they sold this #10,000 to me just like a Month ago when the one on my car got bad and started dripping oil

Don't try that. The hole into which the ball t is fixed on the knuckle must have widened a bit when you installed the new one, if you put a tokunbo ball t there, it will pull.
Replace knuckle together with ball ts

Wow that means next time when I want to change my ball t I have to change it complete with that knuckle

That is the typical igbo man car part style, the goal is to my you pay nore

Anyways it is well thank God I rarely drive the Car on rough terrains
If I want to travel before the year runs out I'll check the ball ts again orelse I'll just change it back to Tokunbo own after some months time Sha

For now I just drive the car mostly to church coz I got another one a space Bus that does more of my rough moves ND co

Dont feel safe. A new chinko ball t worst that a delapidated OEM ball t. The chinko ball t has a tendency of either breaking or pulling out without any warning signs.

The seller gave me guarantee tho coz I buy almost every part of the car from him ND he uses Honda Cars
Coz the Mechanic even called him ND said why didn't he give me the Tokunbo but he still said it's original that they sud fix it

Pls and pls my people, help me out with some clarifications.

When buying a car, especially Nigerian used cars (hand to hand), what are the things to put into considerations, what to take note of that you won't end up buying scraps and won't buy a stolen car. How are u going to be sure the person selling it is the owner and the car not a stolen vehicle ? And even after purchase, what are the steps to take for me to change the ownership to mine?

Then what is it about this mileage of a thing that they always talks about as increasing or decreasing over years.. Pls help a sister who is a novice and doesn't know anything about car....plssss. Pls just tell me everything I should know before purchase so as to be on a safer side.

Note: I don't have any man around me here that can put me through, as all of them are afar off.

Thanks.

When mine was done, the beam was partially loosed and pushed to one side, they even brought jackt inside the engine to jack whatever up.

Yeah he later lowered the beam the second day then he was able to get it out

look up coastal semi sythetic oil. A product by Warren in the US. Coastal will do a good job also protecting your engine until you bounce back. That's the pro but the con part is you can't do more than 5000 Miles with that oil if you love your engine sludge free. Sold for 8k.

You' mean this guy right ?

Make sure you fill up the tank when you pour it... Your tank is how many litres?

I think 65 to 70 litres Honda Accord 2006 DC

You can simply get a liter of thinner and pour into your fuel tank, will give same effect. (Not a professional advice)

Best approach is to manually clean the nozzles.

Okay good

But Do u mean I sud not make use of this one that I got
