How did your interview go?
I had my first visa with OTC and plan renewing again.

I actually reschedule the interview to August 9 because Invitation letter is not ready at the previous interview date, so I'll be going for the interview August 9.
What were the questions the VO asked you when you went for your interview then?

No sir. The conference will hold with a virtual option, 100% certain.
The conference will have a virtual option (100% certain) as well as option to attend in person (yet to be locked in) if possible. The only thing they are waiting to decide is if there will be any in person attendance depending on the covid situation. You need to come to with the fact that you do not need to be physically present to attend the conference and be able to articulate what specific benefits will accrue to you by investing a large amount of money to attend in person. Even presenters and exhibitors will have a virtual option. Here's a quote from the conference site:

What if I am from another country and cannot travel to the United States?
You have the option of attending OTC virtually. It will be recorded, and you can watch during the time zone that works to your favor, with the exception of live sessions—which will be ed at a later date.

Did you read the FAQs?
http://2021.otcnet.org/why-attend/hybrid-faq
Okay, thanks.

No need for DM, I have told you all I know about this conference which is actually public knowledge. I am just saying that you should prepare to answer the obvious questions at your interview. Make sure you have all your facts straight. Visit the conference website below and do your research.

http://2021.otcnet.org/?_ga=2.93093341.1358219085.1610902045-146346812.1610902045
Okay, I have visited this site but from the informations I saw on their site they are still deliberating on making the Conference Virtual. They haven't make their final decision. And one of the reasons it was shifted to August is for participants to attend in person.

Did you research this conference yourself or just taking everything your agent tells you as gospel? The name tag of the conference this year is OTC 2021 Hybrid. It is planned to be a hybrid in person/virtual event with option of 100% virtual participation, including exhibits and presentations. Bros, prepare well O!
Bros, please can I send you a DM, actually I researched about the Conference that is where I got all the informations, the agent did not tell me anything about the Conference.

Kettlecorn:

Hmm, na wa o! I don't know what they will ask you. But if I was in your shoes, I would pray they ask me this basic question and not just assume the worst stereotypes for my application. Why must you be physically there to attend the conference? Prepare well to answer this question in this Corona virus pandemic situation. Note that the conference has a virtual option that is open to all participants and presenters. All ed attendees will be able to access content virtually. Did your agent tell you this?
Thanks for the reply, I don't think the Conference has Virtual option because it was meant to hold last year but it was shifted to this year August due to Covid 19

First, PGD is not a prerequisite to MSc in Canada, so if you go for PGD you won't be able to go for MSc with that. But you can search for schools that will accept your undergraduate grade for MSc program, though your chances are slim but not impossible. Best of luck

It is either your agent is dumb or you didn't hear him/her well. To say your GPA doesn't matter except TOEFL is the dumbest thing have heard in this race.
If you are sure that your agent said that, then, he/she must be agent of darkness and evil. Run away from such person and take your life and decisions personally.

Your CGPA matters a lot. Particularly, the GP of your last two years of study.

For now, stay away from UK except you have money and ready to come back home after studies, or want to do the highly risky and unadvisable akata runz. I wouldn't try UK if I were you.

Calculate the GP of your last two years of study and let us know. Plus you really have to be dedicated to this, cos you will be doing most yourself.
tnkz for ur response, pls do I still need to go for TOEFL exam, if u don't mind can I hav ur number because I hardly come online because of my busy schedule.....nd I'm planning of traveling after my services year. Tnkz

Good day fellow nairalanders, please I'm planning of traveling abroad (UK or Canada) after my services year which I'll be through with by October 2017 for my Master Degree.
I graduated with second class lower (2.62 cgpa) from Architecture.......I had already consult a traveling agent and he said I should do English proficiency test (TOEFL), that after doing the test that my Cgpa doesn't matter again but I'm going to use the score from my TOEFL to process the ission. Please I want to confirm how true is this.
I'll also like you guyz to advise me on how to go about this and with the schools with less tuition fee in this two countries. Thanks.

The MAXXI, Italian: Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, or National Museum of the 21st Century Arts, is a national museum of contemporary art and architecture in the Flaminio quartiere of Rome, Italy. The museum is managed by a foundation created by the Ministero dei beni e delle attivitĂ  culturali, the Italian ministry of cultural heritage. It was designed as a multidisciplinary space by Zaha Hadid and committed to experimentation and innovation in the arts and architecture.

The Heydar Aliyev Center is a 619,000-square-foot building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid and noted for its distinctive architecture and flowing, curved style that eschews sharp angles.

Architect Dame Zaha Hadid, whose designs include the London Olympic Aquatic Centre, has died aged 65.
Iraqi-born, this year she was the first woman to receive the Royal Institute of British Architects Gold Medal in recognition of her work.
She died following a heart attack on Thursday in a Miami hospital, where she was being treated for bronchitis.
Her designs have been commissioned around the world, including Hong Kong, and Azerbaijan.
Dame Zaha Hadid's award-winning designs
Collecting her Gold Medal in February, Dame Zaha said she was proud to have been the first woman to win in her own right.
"We now see more established female architects all the time," she said.
"That doesn't mean it's easy. Sometimes the challenges are immense. There has been tremendous change over recent years and we will continue this progress."
Dame Zaha's other creations include the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London, the Riverside Museum at Glasgow's Museum of Transport, and Guangzhou Opera House in China.
She twice won the Riba Stirling Prize, the UK's most prestigious architecture award. In 2010 she won for the Maxxi Museum in Rome, winning again in 2011 for the Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton.
Born in Baghad, she studied maths at Beirut University before embarking on her career at the Architectural Association in London.
In 1979 she set up her own company - Zaha Hadid Architects.
Her first major commission to be constructed was the Vitra Fire Station in Weil am Rhein in .
The striking London Acquatics Centre in Stratford, which resembles a wave, features two 50-metre pools and a diving pool. After being used for the Olympics and Paralympics it was opened to the public in 2014.
"I love the London Aquatics Centre because it's near where I live," Dame Zaha said at the time.
She designed one of the stadiums that will take centre stage at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
Last year, however, the Japanese government scrapped plans to build the futuristic-looking stadium she designed for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, opting instead for a scaled-down, less costly design.
