Almiron: Goddson:Those are fake covers you have attached to your posts. The authentic cover is on Times website. https://time.com/5573720/hitler-world-influence/ Real cover for Hitlers Time person of the year below. As per Hitler's legacy, Time noted that even the portrait of the 1938 issue was not the typical cover. "He was depicted as a tiny figure with his back to the viewer, playing a massive organ with his murdered victims spinning on a St. Catherine’s wheel." Underneath the stark, black-and-white illustration was the caption, “From the unholy organist, a hymn of hate.” 1 Like |

Appleyard: rottennaija: Time explained that the criteria for making a selection is based on the influence – good or bad – that person has on the news and lives of others. Hitler was chosen in 1938 because of his negative impact. Time's 1938 issue describes Hitler as "the greatest threatening force that the democratic, freedom-loving world faces today." It said Hitler's actions "left civilized men and women aghast" and called Hitler "the man most responsible for this world tragedy is a moody, brooding, unprepossessing, 49-year old Austrian-born ascetic with a Charlie Chaplin mustache." The Times actually praised Zekensky and the Spirit of the Ukrainian people. The Times said Zelenskyy has really galvanized the world in a way we haven’t seen in decades. Zelenskyy’s success as a wartime leader has relied on the fact that courage is contagious. It spread through Ukraine’s political leadership in the first days of the invasion, as everyone realized the President had stuck around.” 1 Like |

In as much as I would like to disagree with her, she is actually right up to about 90%. Women would change when they discover their new found power abroad. The family dynamics move from the patriarchal we are used to in Nigeria to matriarchal. Some men cannot cope with this sudden change. 2 Likes |

Goalnaldo:Caribbeans and Americans do give their children African first names. It's the Fulani last name that caught me by surprise. Maybe she changed her lastname (surname) herself or could have been changed by her parents, or it could be from marriage. |

observanc1:I know about the windrush generation. Ngozi Fulani doesn't sound Carribean, does it? I have never heard of the lady Ngozi Fulani until today. |

Gemma11:Was there any reason why she was singled out? It appears that there were other black people there as well. There could be a deliberate racist intent or just the lady being curious? I can't conclude myself. I have asked white people the same question. I think the white lady goofed when she kept on pushing and asking multiple times a question the lady wasn't comfortable answering. Note: I am one of Nairaland's prolific defender of Meghan Markle, so I know racism does exists in the royal household of Windsor. |

Kobicove:Point out where I said we don't have Tribalism in Nigeria. I will be waiting. Ngozi or Not Ngozi, because I said the British monarchy as an institution was built on white supremacy (hence, a racist institution) doesn't mean that Tribalism does not exist in Nigeria. Two wrongs can exists at the same time. |

Ckonnet:I understand people see racism in alot of things but that's just them. It could be from an experience in their past. In this case, I can't really conclude the intent of the woman that asked her the question. It could really be that she got confused by the name and was just curious. If I was in Ngozi's shoe, I would proudly tell her where I am from not only Nigeria or Caribbean but where in that particular country sef and tribe. Out of curiosity, I have also asked some people with Polish or Ukrainian name at work where they are originally from even though they are American. Some of their names are very similar. I haven't seen any one that took offence to the question. Some would even tell you that their grand parents moved to America in the 1930s or that there granddad still speaks Polish. I acknowledge that racism does exist, but I always make sure that I have sufficient proof before I conclude that it's racism. 1 Like |

casualobserver:You are lucky. I lived in the UK for only 5 years and experienced racism twice. There are like 3 others that I can't conclude was racism since I don't have sufficient proof and don't understand fully the intent of the actions. 1. One an old woman on a bus in Dagenham, London that could not hide her anger that there were so many diverse people in the bus. She kept swinging her walking stick violently on her way out at her stop, and cursing out loud at what Britain had become. 2. The 2nd one was myself and 2 friend leaving a Tesco in Manchester. A visibly angry man followed us from the store to the bus stop while yelling at us to go back to Africa. |
