Austinpee4, I have a deed of assignment where myself, the seller and a laywer signed to show the exchange of the piece of land. Isn't that enough? I haven't had time to go change the documents in my name. If they do background check , they would see the seller's name and he prepared the deed of assignment that I want to use. Isn't the deed of assignment powerful enough to take care of all these?

Please, I need your opinion. I got a land 6 months ago from a friend and have not bothered to do the change of ownership in my name. I got it from my childhood friend and so wasn't scared or in a haste to change the name on the land documents to my name. We just have a deed of assignment. Can I use this deed of assignment and the land documents with his name on it? Or do I forget using this land document since my name is not on it? I have no other personal asset I can use.
