My husband works remotely from Nigeria for a company based in New York, US. (His job is fully remote and he can actually work from anywhere).
He is also my sponsor.

I am applying for a visa and want to apply for my husband and child as F2 dependents so he can me with the baby for a period of time.

My question is, since F2 dependents are not supposed to be working, how will he convince the VO that he won’t work in the US since he can actually work from anywhere?

What should he mention and what shouldn’t he?

I went with my Manual form but they only asked for my name.

Imustreturn:
please ma, what documents did you submit?

Thanks for your response. So how will the visa be issued? Is it just by submitting the ds160 form for the child?

farggie:
They don't conduct interview for minors

Please what is the easiest state to get an international port in Nigeria? Abuja and Lagos are no go areas and I need one urgently.

I want to apply for an F2 visa for my baby (less than 5years). Do they conduct interviews for minors?

What is the procedure for getting an F2 visa for a minor after application?

Hi guys, please I need your inputs.

I have an I-20 for a university but I’m waiting for that of another university because it’s my most preferred uni. I have filled my DS160 form (not submitted) with the available I20 and have proceeded to fill the visa form. I intend changing the info on my ds160 after receiving the new I20 and before my interview date. My question is, do I need to change the info on the visa form as well? Can the info on the visa form be changed after submission?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Nah, I don’t see how my response would affect other ladies. In fact, why should it?
It seems you are still not aware that Brazil doesn’t issue visas to pregnant women hence the reason they interview only women. Moreover, when I went for my interview, I stated that i wasn’t pregnant yet they could still hold my port for 4weeks.

I needed to do whatever it takes to get my port because I couldn’t wait an extra day.

Don’t you know that following the due process of canceling your application and retrieving your port takes at least two weeks? You can ask questions and I don’t have two weeks to spare.

Granting visa is solely on the consular and not dependent on someone else’s response.

feelgoodstuffs:

You shouldn’t have said you’re pregnant, when you’re not. This might affect other ladies they call for interview. They would have returned your port without you using pregnancy as excuse, it is your property and right.

No I wasn’t. I’m not even pregnant, I just used it as an excuse because I really need my port. I applied since January

This is not nice. were you showing when you went for the interview? If they were not going to give you visa they should deny on time and not hold someone's port that long.

Normally Brazil tourism visa everywhere is not more than 21 days.

For now it’s still active but I don’t know if the status will change eventually.

Soraco57:

is your application still active or otherwise?

thanks

I went to the embassy and collected my port today. I told them that I’m pregnant and I can nolonger travel even if I get the visa. She thanked me for my honesty, gave me my port and told me that I can travel with my baby and husband after giving birth that she will gladly grant me the visa.

I had my interview almost 4weeks ago, yet no news from them. I needed my port to apply for US student visa and I got it.

Go and pick up your port if you need it urgently.

God bless you. Based on your advice, my husband has accepted to go with me too, but he intends to apply for his F-2 after I have gotten mine to increase my chance. Thanks again.

UmmZayd:

Yes, you can start your Ds160 basic questions and save. Get the application ID and proceeed to visa page to get a date. Before 5/6 days to your interview or before then complete your ds160 and submit

Thank you very much for your detailed response. Does it mean that I can book a date for visa interview without submitting my DS-160?

UmmZayd:

Okay. Hmmm request for your i-20 first and when you have your baby, request for that too as well. Your school may need the baby's port which you don't have now. You can always request for F2 I-20 anytime. About the DS160, you can wait till like 5 days to interview date before you submit so if you've had baby by then, you can add him/her.

At this point, you may have to apply with your husband because you are going with a new baby which means, you will need help and if you are not, you can't leave a new baby behind. If you are going with a new baby yourself without anyone then that's hard extra work except you have relatives over here that will assist with the baby. Most daycares if not all, it infant from age 6months. You need all the help you can get.

The ission was deferred from last year to this year. It can no longer be deferred.

Has anyone successfully applied with a dependent? If yes, please how you go about it and how did the interview go?
jbryan54: 1:42am On Apr 09, 2022
Hello guys, I got ission for Fall 2022 and my university wants me to submit the I-20 application form before 1st May.
On my I-20 form, I am required to list all dependents that will travel with me.

The thing is that my husband is staying back with me but my child will be traveling with me just that the child is not yet born.
I am currently pregnant and will be due in May.

Can the I-20 form be submitted without listing any dependent and applying later when the child is born?
Will listing a dependent on the DS-160 affect my chance of visa approval?

Please what should I do in this case?
